92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Brilliant ruby. Vibrant, floral aromas of blackberry and Valrhona chocolate. Superb sappy intensity of flavor without thickness or heaviness. Juicy and brooding, with terrific finesse and grip. Notes of spice cake and iris. Finishes with big, dusty tannins and impressive persistence. A powerful mountain-style Bordeaux blend that made with an almost magically light touch. (ST) 92+" (11/2000) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The opaque purple-colored, dense, full-bodied 1997 Reserve Diamond ...

100 points James Suckling: "Blueberries, currants and Indian spices on the nose follow through to a full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a lovely finish. It's intense and refined. A beauty. It goes on for minutes. Speechless. Better and cleaner than the great 1990." (03/2012) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Harvested between September 17 and October 5, this wine seems always open for business, so to speak, much like the great 1982s. The summer of 2009 was very hot and dry, which got the harvest off to a reasonably early start. The blend wa...

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My all-time favorite vintage of Tertre-Roteboeuf, the 2000 should age much more consistently than the rather irregular 1990 or the top-notch 1989. The 2005 should give it a run for its money down the road, but at present, this wine is performing fabulously well. It boasts a dense ruby/purple color along with notes of kirsch liqueur and licorice. This St.-Emilion could pass for a great Chateauneuf du Pape or top-notch Musigny, although it has more power and depth than a burgundy, and none of the peppery/garrigue c...

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "From one of the oldest vineyards on Diamond Mountain, this Bordeaux blend is impressively powerful and balanced. Based on Cabernet, with small quantities of Merlot, Cab Franc and Petit Verdot, it has oak-influenced black and red currant, cassis, cherry, spicy plum pudding and sweet, smoky vanilla flavors, with a cedar, pencil-lead note reminiscent of a fine Pauillac." (05/2008) K&L Notes: Earlier this year, we sent a note to the folks at Von Strasser inquiring about the possibility that any of their library wines might be av...

Twenty-eight years old at the time, Tom Dehlinger planted the initial 14 acres in 1975. He was one of the first winemakers to revive western Sonoma County as a wine-growing region after Prohibition. Today, Dehlinger remains an independent and family-owned/operated winery known for its quality wines with a focus on entirely estate-grown grapes. Dehlinger's Cabernets are known to be complex and full of character and typically resemble classic Bordeaux.

91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Von Strasser’s 2004 Proprietary Red from the Sori Bricco Vineyard consists of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Franc, all aged in 100% French oak. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, a wonderful supple character, lots of cedary, earthy, leathery and cassis notes, and medium to full body. (RP)" (04/2014) 90 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Deep red-ruby. Black raspberry, redcurrant, flowers, licorice and minerals on the nose, complicated by a dusty nuance. Dense, supple a...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1995 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is performing far better after a year of bottle age. This dark ruby/purple-colored, seductive wine offers blazingly intense aromas of cigar box, smoky oak, and jammy black currants with a hint of Provencal herbs. Ripe and full-bodied, with low acidity, and a fleshy, succulent texture...(RP)" (12/1998) 92 points Wine Spectator: "A touch of dill and coconut from oak give this a unique aromatic and flavor profile and there's plenty of rich, intense, spicy currant, plum ...

98 points James Suckling: "Quite the bottle here! Spices, such as nutmeg and cinnamon, as well as dried meat and plums with cedar and sandalwood. Full body. Deep and dense in the center palate and a long, long finish. Shows finesse and tightness. Very polished tannins. Long and ethereal. " (01/2020) 98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, yields for the grand vin in 2017 were 43 hectoliters per hectare, and it was aged in 60% new oak. It came in at an alcohol of 13...

91 points Connoisseurs Guide: "This superb bottling impresses from the very first sniff with its complex array of currants, blueberries, dark spices and hints of herbs and wonderfully rich and creamy oak in outgoing, youthfully alive aromas. Its supple entry to the palate is followed by great depth of flavor and an evident spine of tannin that will keep the wine on course for years. *Two Stars*" (08/2009) 91 points Wine & Spirits: "Tight and unyielding at first, this wine's tannins soften as they take on air, turning sleek. It has elegant length of fre...

94 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blueberries and stone with some dried-flower notes. The palate is medium-bodied with firm, silky tannins and a medium finish. Linear and refined with a very fine line of tannins running through it." (01/2020) 91-93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Malescot St. Exupery is scented of crushed red and black cherries, warm plums and mulberries with touches of roses and wood smoke. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of vibrant red and black fruits and soft, plush tannins, wi...

94-96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The deep, inky-colored 2017 Léoville-Barton is a classic, powerhouse wine from this estate that’s going to need bottle age. Loads of black and blue fruits, violets, classy oak, and ample minerality all soar from the glass. It’s medium to full-bodied, concentrated, and backward on the palate. With fabulous purity and integrated acidity, forget bottles for 5-6 years and enjoy over the following two decades. The blend in 2017 is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot, harvested from the 15th to the 29th of September, and aging in 60...

Bid on this 6L-bottle of 1985 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (6L) (OWC - 90RP, 90ST, 90WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1985 Lafite is revealing more class and complexity than I predicted. A moderately intense, cedary, woody, herb and berry-scented bouquet is attractive. The wine is open-knit and ripe, with fine tannins, sweet, medium-bodied, mineral, and cassis-scented flavors, fine depth, and a graceful, harmonious feel. It is beginning to blossom and appears to possess more depth and character than I had thought. (RP)" (08/1993)

Bid on this 6L-bottle of 2006 Domaine Faiveley Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru (6L) (91ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Medicinal, high-pitched nose offers currant, cherry, flowers and spices, with complicating notes of caraway seed and menthol. Then dense, sappy and bright, with lovely mineral lift to the red fruit and spice flavors. Taut, focused and very young Clos Vougeot, finishing with a firm tannic spine. This may ultimately merit an even higher score. (ST) 91+" (03/2009)
