1988 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1988 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (93JS, 92WS). James Suckling: "There's licorice here along with mint, some lead pencil and flowers. It's full and round displaying wonderful vanilla and plum flavors. Very silky and refined yet dense and caressing. A beauty, though it does turn a little dry, always revealing its wood." (11/2015)

2015 Rivers-Marie "Lore Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Rivers-Marie "Lore Vineyard" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 98RP, 95VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Moving to the 2015s and pure perfection is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Lore Vineyard. Made from 100% Cabernet aged in 90% new French oak, this blockbuster offers up a huge nose of blackcurrants, espresso, scorched earth, liquid violets and graphite. With a massive amount of fruit, full-bodied richness, and incredible tannin quality, this beauty glides over the palate and is a sensational, heavenly red that needs short-term cellaring and will keep for 20-25 years." 2012 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Spottswoode "Family Estate" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (99RP, 98JS, 97VN, 95WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "With the lowest percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in of any of the wines from this vertical, the 2012 final blend was 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Production across the board in 2012 was high, and reflected in the 3,977 cases made at Spottswoode. This is a dramatic, flamboyant, modern-day version of the 2002. Dramatic blueberry, black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, along with camphor, charcoal, white flowers and foresty notes all emerge from the impressive aromatics that soar from the glass. The intense, explosively rich, full-bodied palate is layered with beautiful purity, stunningly sweet, silky tannins and terrific presence and complexity. This is a gorgeous wine on a relatively fast evolutionary track, I suspect, but certainly it has 30 years of upside left. (RP)" (08/2016)

2001 d'Yquem, Sauternes
Bid on this bottle of 2001 d'Yquem, Sauternes (100JS, 100RP, 100WS). Wine Spectator: "The greatest young Yquem I have ever tasted from bottle. Yellow, with a golden hue and an almost green tint. Intense aromas of botrytis, spices and blanched almonds follow through to honey, maple syrup, dried apricot and pineapple. Full-bodied, sweet, thick and powerful, with layers of fruit and a bright, lively finish. Coats the palate yet remains exciting. So balanced and refined, showing the pedigree that only this Sauternes estate can deliver. Best after 2012. *Collectibles - Ranked #10 in Top 100 Wines of 2005* (JS)" (11/2005)

Vinous: "Ultramarine's 2012 Blanc de Blancs Charles Heintz Vineyard is bright, focused and nicely sculpted, with plenty of lemon peel, chalk, savory herb and mint overtones. The 2012 is a bit reserved today, perhaps because of its recent disgorgement. Even so, the flavors are bright, vivid and striking in their purity. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. (AG)" (03/2017)

2013 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2013 Abreu "Thorevilos" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 100VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Probably one of my favorite vineyards in all of Napa Valley, even though it is not entitled to any particular AVA designation, is the steep hillside vineyard behind the luxury resort of Meadowood in St. Helena called Thorevilos. It is co-owned by David Abreu and Ric Forman. I have now tasted 16 vintages of this wine, and six and possibly seven (the 2015) have merited perfect scores, which is just mind-boggling even to someone who has been doing this for 38+ years. This wine contains a considerable quantity of Cabernet Franc (probably 30% or more, although Abreu and Grimes are never specific) and there may even be a small percentage of Petit Verdot included in the blend. This is always the most floral of the Abreu wines, but it also has what the French call je ne sais quoi, a quality that is hard to pin down. The 2013 defines what Thorevilos is all about, with copious

Bid on this 1.5 liter 1-bottle lot of 2015 Schrader "Old Sparky" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (OWC - 100JD, 97RP) in original wood. Jeb Dunnuck: "A wine that got more than one expletive in my notes, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Old Sparky is a barrel selection and is mostly clone 6 with smaller amounts of clone 4. Pure crème de cassis, blueberries, violets, white chocolate, and white flower notes all soar from this inky 2015 which is full-bodied, powerful, yet weightless and elegant. Its tannins are covered by a wealth of fruit, it has no hard edges, perfect integration of its fruit, tannin, acidity, and alcohol, and a finish that just won’t quit. This is a crazy good wine that couldn’t be any better." (12/2017)

1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this bottle of 1966 Lafite-Rothschild, Pauillac (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "My God, this is a wonderful mature Lafite. Served blind chez Rosemary George MW it has a definable Pauillac nose with subtle notes of cedar, sous-bois and a touch of dried blood. It has incredible harmony and purity – a bouquet that has you instantly captivated. The palate does not disappoint: a beguiling sense of natural harmony and delineation, not the weight of Latour nor the femininity of Margaux, but a Lafite aiming for understated sophistication. Delicate cedar and cigar box towards the finish that just goes on and on. This bottle vindicates my first encounter in Bordeaux, when it similarly bewitched its audience. Absolutely sublime. Tasted April 2008. (NM)" (07/2008)

2015 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2015 Realm "The Absurd" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100JD, 100RP, 95JS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Composed of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc, the singular, absolutely compelling 2015 The Absurd opens with a seriously intense black currant cordial and plum preserves core, slowly revealing cedar chest, mincemeat pie, potpourri and spice box hints plus a waft of chocolate-covered cherries. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2003 Latour, Pauillac (100JS, 100RP, (96-98WE), 98WS, 97ST, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Administrator Frederic Engerer says the 2003 is 'the sexiest Latour ever made.' He also described it as 'the 1990 without any brettanomyces.' I loved this wine from the barrel and was fortunate enough to be able to purchase a small quantity, enjoying every bottle I have had. A profound example of Chateau Latour, the full-bodied, opulent 2003 is already performing well at age eleven, which is somewhat atypical. The pH is a relatively high 3.8, which also indicates low acidity. The wine is very ripe, but not over-ripe, offers great freshness, and lots of creme de cassis and camphor as well as hints of blackberries and chocolate. Dense, thick and unctuously textured, this staggering Latour is undeniably the most sumptuous, opulent wine made here since the 1982 or 1961. Drink it over the next two decades. (RP)" (08/2014)

All of the elements come together beautifully in this focused, deftly balanced Burgundy. Floral notes linger on the pointed, precise finish. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2028. (AG)" (05/2011)

2000 Bellevue, St-Emilion
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2000 Bellevue, St-Emilion (95RP, 91ST, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This was the breakthrough vintage for this fabulous terroir that had been under-exploited for so many years. A collaboration between Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt, this medium to full-bodied, pure blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc reveals aromas reminiscent of a liqueur of crushed rocks, black currants, and raspberries. The tannins are still present, and the wine is firmer than I expected, but it is loaded. Made in a distinctive, singular, elegant style, it will be even better in 5-6 years, and should last for two decades thereafter - longer than I originally predicted. (RP) 95+" (06/2010)

Bright, sculpted and dripping with energy, the 2010 dazzles at the very first taste. There has been a progressive trend by Kistler’s winemaking team and owners to harvest at slightly lower sugars, back off slightly on the percentage of new oak used, and bottle their wines earlier. It is an intensely coiled, powerful wine in need of a few years of cellaring. The mineral notes speak very clearly in this pointed, beautifully articulated Pinot. With time in the glass the wine’s inner perfume begins to emerge, but the best is years away. The chiseled, pure finish leaves a lasting impression. 2004 Pavie, St-Emilion
Bid on this bottle of 2004 Pavie, St-Emilion (96W&S, 95WS, 94RP). Wine & Spirits: "A conspicuously modern wine, Pavie with its hyper-ripe fruit and substantial new oak treatment stands out as an offense to some, a glorious pleasure to others. In the case of the 2004, it carries the oak beautifully, untamed by it. The wine is wild, in fact, and quite hard to resist. The cool complexity of the tannins grows out of three terroirs: the limestone plateau, a sector of gravel and limestone and a third sector of clay. The fruit opens with thick-skinned black plum power, reverberating with feral scents and violets. Staunch and formidable, the wine is packed with life." (10/2007)

Medium-bodied, plush, rich and generously fruited in the mouth, it has a wonderfully spicy character and long baking spice and black fruit-laced finish. (LPB)" (02/2018)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Kosta Browne "Koplen Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (95CG, 93RP, 92ST, 91VN). Connoisseurs Guide: "We are more than impressed by the new Kosta Browne line-up, and picking favorites from so many good wines is a difficult, if happy, task. That said this bottle is so well-balanced and generously endowed with definitive varietal fruit that it vies for a place at the head of class. Its themes of optimally ripened cherries are enriched with very sensible sweet oak, and it shows a slight bit of structural sinew under its ample flesh, but it is never heavy or in any way tough, and its future is as sure as a sure thing can be. *Three Stars*" (07/2014)

2011 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)
Bid on this magnum of 2011 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (96JS, 96RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Possibly the Cabernet Sauvignon of the vintage is Shafer’s 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select. Last year I thought it was a strong effort, but it’s even better now that it’s been bottled. With an opaque black/purple color and notes of subtle burning charcoal embers, blueberry, blackberry and graphite, the wine has a certain Bordelais minerality, but then the richness of Napa kicks in. It’s full-bodied (somewhat unusual for a 2011) with lighter tannins, and no doubt the wine will be on a faster evolutionary track than vintages such as 2010, 2012 and 2013. Nevertheless, the Shafers and Elias said this was the toughest vintage they’d ever experienced. To be able to produce a compelling wine like this is a testament to their extraordinary skills and craftsmanship. This wine can be drunk now or cellared for another 15-20 years. (RP)" (12/

2009 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Joseph Phelps "Insignia" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96CG, 96WE, 93VN, 91WS, 90RP). Wine Enthusiast: "This wine continues a long-standing tradition, showing a mastery of the art of blending. It's made using grapes that are sourced from at least six vineyards scattered from Yountville to St. Helena. Right out of the bottle, it's a soft, smoothly tannic wine that's rich in blackberry jam, black currant, blueberry, raspberry, dark chocolate and spice flavors. The wine, which contains small amounts of Petit Verdot and Malbec, is so powerful, it easily carries the 100% new French oak. Just gorgeous now, and it should develop bottle complexity for at least the next 10 years." (12/2012)

The tannins cling a bit, but this is an enjoyable and approachable youngster, with a track record for aging. Drink now through 2028. (JL)" (06/2017)

John Gilman: "The 2006 Clos Vougeot was also showing quite well at the time of my visit, and seems poised to offer up a very refined and intensely flavored interpretation of this vineyard in this vintage. The bouquet is deep and very vibrant, as it delivers a blend of black cherries, plums, vinesmoke, lovely soil tones, fresh herbs, incipient notes of game and a bit of bonfire. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, tangy and very precise, with a lovely core of fruit, ripe tannins, excellent acidity and a long, transparent and elegant finish. Fine juice in the making. Drink between 2014-2040." (12/2007)

2009 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this bottle of 2009 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94VN, 93DC, 93JS, 93ST, 92WS). Vinous: "The 2009 Opus One is impeccable. It brings together the silkiness of the 2007 with the power and darkness of the 2008, a combination that is hugely appealing, to say the least. With a little air, the 2009 can be enjoyed young, but it is best cellared for at least a few years, which will allow some of the baby fat to drop off. The blend is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot, 3% Merlot and 1% Malbec. (AG) 94+" (06/2013)

Licorice and mushroom It's full body, with layers of ultra-fine tannins and hints of tangy acidity. Such beautiful length and beauty to this wine. Of the 2006 Il Poggione "Vigna Paganelli" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli is huge, powerful and totally implosive. The seductive allure of the 2007 is nowhere to be found. Instead, the 2006 is built on a serious spine of formidable tannin and dark red/black fruit. Hints of tar, licorice, rose petals and tobacco inform the powerful, virile finish. The 2006 is going to require considerable patience, but it is clearly a jewel of a wine, even at this early stage. Of the 1969 Montrose, St-Estèphe,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Tasted from magnum at the Montrose vertical in London, the 1969 Montrose was a pleasant surprise that probably surpassed everyone's expectations, if not close to the caliber of the finest wines from the estate. It had a decent savory, dried meat and leathery nose that displays more fruit than anticipated, albeit rustic and oxidizing a little in the glass. The palate is nicely balanced with rustic tannin, vestiges of soy-tinged fruit and a rather foursquare and attenuated finish, but still a wine that you would finish, which is more than can be said for many 1969 Clarets. Tasted June 2016. (NM)" (03/2017)

Of the 2006 Montrose, St-Estèphe,Decanter writes: "Beautiful, rich and incredibly softly textured, this is still very young. Also supremely measured and stately, with buttery tannins. The palate is just starting to show truffles and leather, but is still set against game, cassis and liquorice root. Great persistency and a real sense of lift on the finish. Atypical for a young Nebbiolo, it is succulent, fleshy, and undeniably compelling, rich, seamless, and concentrated. (RP)" (06/2001)
