2005 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 La Mission Haut-Brion, Pessac-Léognan (100RP, 99JS, 97W&S, 97WE, 97WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 La Mission Haut-Brion is pure perfection. It has an absolutely extraordinary nose of sweet blackberries, cassis and spring flowers with some underlying minerality, a full-bodied mouthfeel, gorgeously velvety tannins (which is unusual in this vintage) and a long, textured, multi-layered finish that must last 50+ seconds. This is a fabulous wine and a great effort from this hallowed terroir. Drink this modern-day legend over the next 30+ years. Only 5,500 cases were produced of this blend of 69% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Cabernet Franc. (RP)" (06/2015)

2014 Sine Qua Non "Piranha Waterdance" California Syrah
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Sine Qua Non "Piranha Waterdance" California Syrah (100RP, 99JD, (95-97VN), 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Blended of 81% Syrah, 8% Petite Sirah, 6% Mourvèdre, 4% Touriga Nacional and 1% Graciano, sourced from 34% The Third Twin, 35% Eleven Confessions and 31% Cumulus (all estate vineyards), the provocative, inky purple colored 2014 Syrah Piranha Waterdance was made using 26% whole cluster and hits the scent scene with exuberant, pure crème de cassis, blackberry cordial and blueberry coulis notes with hints of espresso, licorice, garrigue and menthol, plus a gorgeous underlying perfume of red roses. The full-bodied palate is oh-so-elegant and pretty, revealing very finely pixelated tannins that beautifully frame the almost electric intensity, culminating in an epically long, licorice and chocolate-laced finish. Too stunning for mere words and rude to even try--just drink it. (LPB)" (09/2017)

1987 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1987 Beringer "Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93RP, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1987 Reserve is a worthy competitor to the terrific 1986. The 1987's dark ruby/garnet color is followed by a super bouquet. There are huge aromas of chocolate, spicy new oak, herbs, cassis and tobacco in this beautifully scented wine. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, voluptuous, spicy, and crammed with fruit, glycerin, and enough tannin to support 15-16 years of cellaring. Like the 1986, the tannins are soft, and, fortunately, the acids are not shrill enough to prevent immediate drinkability. This is a skillfully made, complex Cabernet Sauvignon that will not linger long on retailers' shelves. (RP)" (10/1993)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Chardonnay Sugar Shack Estate is pure honeyed apricots and beeswax with suggestions of bread, salted almonds, croissant and a touch of aniseed. It is full-bodied, rich, intense, lifted, fresh and really well structured with a solid backbone, finishing long and sleek with some minerals. (LPB)" (10/2017)

2013 The Mascot Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2013 The Mascot Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. The grapes for this wine come from younger vines on the Harlan and Bond estates and is spearheaded by Bill Harlan's son, Will. From the producer: "Although I grew up running around the winery, hand-turning de-stemmers, and eating grapes off the vines in our backyard, I never thought I’d discover my own passion in making wine. My family has been in the business longer than I’ve been around, but it was only a handful of years ago that curiosity led me beyond the event horizon of this world. It began with the experience of learning the complexities of blending wine in 2008, and progressed steadily until I found myself working in the cellar, handling barrel fermentation throughout the harvest. Made from the younger vines of Harlan Estate, BOND, and Promontory, The Mascot shares a unique glimpse into the evolution of our winegrowing estates. The Mascot began early on as an experiment, after talking the family and winema

2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2007 Quilceda Creek Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 96WE, 95ST, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A monumental wine in the making, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of those wines that presents such an over the top array of aromas and flavors that it’s hard to figure out what you think about it with just a quick glance. It’s only with the second or third sip that you really start to see how special this effort truly is. Offering up perfumed, intense aromas of plum, violets, ink, licorice and black currants, it flows onto the palate with a massive, incredibly full-bodied texture that builds through the mid-palate and carries layers of polished tannins, awesome purity of fruit and blockbuster length. Most likely not for everyone given the sheer size, it is an incredible wine in my opinion. Still tasting like a barrel sample, it will have 30+ total years of longevity. Drink 2017-2037. Bid on this magnum of 1978 Heitz Cellars "Martha's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (97DC, 97JG, 91WS). Decanter: "1978 is justly renowned as a legendary vintage for Martha's Vineyard, and the wine certainly doesn't disappoint. A bouquet of sweet cassis, loamy soil, tobacco leaf, redcurrant and plum fruit is complemented by the Martha's Vineyard minty signature. On the palate there is impressive concentration and notably fresh acids. Decanting is strongly recommended. (WK)" (02/2018)

Of the 2012 Sine Qua Non "Rattrapante - Eleven Confessions Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache,Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "A perfect wine any way you look at it, the 2012 Grenache Rattrapante comes all from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and spent 33 months in 27% new French oak. My notes start - and end - with “Wow.” Giving up tons of black raspberries, peppery herbs, licorice, dried flowers and cured meats, it’s a massively concentrated, rich and layered Grenache that somehow manages to stay graceful, lively and fresh on the palate. 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Grenache
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2011 Sine Qua Non "Dark Blossom" California Grenache (97RP, 97VN, (93-95ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2011 Grenache Dark Blossom is probably the best Grenache-based blend in the vintage. A blend of 75% Grenache, 12.5% Syrah, 11.5% Mourvedre and a splash of Roussanne (fermented with 11% whole clusters), it has a perfumed, complex style, with notions of black raspberry, cassis, dried flowers, white pepper and licorice giving way to a full-bodied, layered and seamless mouthfeel. There’s no shortage of fruit here, and while it’s hard to resist now, it has enough tannin to warrant short-term cellaring. It should knock it out of the park through 2029. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2016 Carter "Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard - La Verdad" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard La Verdad has a very deep purple-black color and reveals slightly subdued, youthful notes of crushed blueberries, warm black cherries and mulberries with hints of blackcurrant cordial, stewed black tea, wilted roses and fragrant soil. Wow—the palate explodes with very primary yet incredibly exciting, densely packed muscular black fruits, framed with a brick house of super ripe tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long and incredibly cerebral. 2007 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Abreu Howell Mountain Bordeaux Blend (98RP, 97VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The riveting 2007 Howell Mountain exhibits aromas of black raspberries, blueberries, crushed rocks and flowers along with full-bodied power accompanied by an ethereal delicacy and sublimity that make it a haunting wine to smell and taste. It should drink well for 25+ years. I am increasingly impressed with Abreu’s Howell Mountain Proprietary Red wine. The blend tends to be about two-thirds Cabernet Sauvignon, 20-25% Cabernet Franc and 10-15% Merlot and Petit Verdot. A completely different animal than the Cappella or Madrona Ranch (which both come from lower elevation vineyards), this cuvee reveals extraordinary notes of crushed rocks and a liqueur of minerals in a steely, full-bodied, powerful style that possesses both intensity and finesse. 2004 Screaming Eagle Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC)
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2004 Screaming Eagle Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (OWC - 97RP, 94ST, 94WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Aged 20 months in 72% new French oak, this blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc comes from a great vineyard on the valley floor in Oakville, just south of Rudd Estate and Plumpjack. The wine’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by a beautiful, Pauillac-like (think Pontet Canet or Mouton), ethereal perfume of creme de cassis, or as Michael Broadbent used to say, 'celestial black currants,' full body, a velvety texture, fine tannins, a multidimensional mouthfeel, and a terrific finish. While there were no real surprises tasting this wine, I was somewhat intrigued by just how youthful the 2004 Screaming Eagle is showing. I had expected it to reveal slightly more evolution. I thought the 13% Merlot in the blend would push the evolution more quickly. The finish lasts for a full minute. As it has been in just abo

2002 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L)
Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2002 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (1.5L) (91CG). Connoisseurs Guide: "Outgoing aromas of ripe cherries and dried flowers are given a real lift in richness by plenty of rich oak here, and this weighty offering's deep, well-extracted flavors follow in kind. There is a bit of velvet beginning to show, yet there is also a fair measure of tannin coming on at the finish, and things presently end on a slightly tougher note. The wine recalls the solidity of northerly Côte de Nuits Burgundies, and, if a wee bit gruff just now, it is very well-filled, and it seems sure to find refinement if allowed to sit quietly for three or four years." Full-bodied with tantalizing opulence yet compelling restraint, the palate beautifully juxtaposes the rich, ripe fruit with wonderful freshness and a firm yet plush backbone, finishing beautifully perfumed. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Andremily "No. 4" Santa Barbara County Syrah ((97-99JD), 97RP, (92-95VN)). Jeb Dunnuck: "A terrific follow-up to the heavenly 2014, the 2015 Andremily No 4 is another wine from Jim that’s going to be in the top 2-3 wines of the vintage. A Syrah dominated blend that incorporates 6% Viognier and 4% Mourvèdre, it sports an inky purple color as well as incredible notes of liquid violets, blueberry liqueur, white chocolate, pen ink and lead pencil. Showing more classic peppery, Syrah notes with time in the glass, this opulent, decadent, yet always pure and precise 2015 will benefit from short term cellaring and have two decades of more of ultimate longevity. 2016 Kosta Browne "El Diablo" Russian River Chardonnay
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2016 Kosta Browne "El Diablo" Russian River Chardonnay. From the winery: "Planted in 2008 and farmed with careful techniques, the El Diablo Vineyard is young and full of potential. Perched on the eastern edge of the Russian River Valley appellation with 500 ft. elevation, this site enjoys ideal weather to grow Chardonnay. Mornings bring a cool marine layer that is later broken up by a couple hours of warm sunlight. Gravelly loam soil combined with tight row spacing between vines helps to further reduce vigor and encourage the competition for nutrients among the vines. The result is low yields with intense, flavor-packed-clusters. Grapefruit blossoms and lemongrass blended with aromas of singed meyer lemon peel and subtle notes of cedar. Textural & dense with purity, lift and elegance."

Wine Enthusiast: "Price be damned, this is an authentically gorgeous, important Cabernet Sauvignon. It calls to mind the amazing 2001, with its huge, perfect tannins and acids and artistic appliqué of new oak. But the star of the show surely is the fruit. Mounds of ripe blackberries and cherries pile up, veering into currants and cassis and something wild and decadently animal, like charred meat. Fabulous now despite the firm tannins, and should evolve for many years." (05/2009)

2013 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100JS, 100RP, 99VN, 97DC). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "As I predicted last year, the 2013 Harlan Estate is one of their all-time greats, although they have had many of them, starting with the 1991, followed by 1994, 1995, 1997 (although controversial in some circles), 2001, 2002, 2005, 2007, 2010 and 2012. This great first-growth property, with aspirations to produce the finest Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine made in the New World, has given us a wine that has it all in 2013. Dense purple to the rim, with notes of espresso, white chocolate, mocha, blackberry, cassis, and cedar wood, the wine is full-bodied, opulent, but also structured, pure and incredibly long (well past a minute aftertaste). It is probably closest in personality and overall character to the compelling 2001, which is still a youthful wine at age 15. Drink it over the next 50+ years. (RP)" (10/2016)

The extraordinary aromatics give way to a full-bodied, stunningly concentrated wine with everything in balance, fabulous density and richness, and a finish that lasts nearly 60 seconds. This is unquestionably one of the all-time great Mayas. In keeping with the exuberance and flamboyance of this vintage, it is approachable now, but should age effortlessly for 30+ years. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2008 Quilceda Creek "Galitzine Vineyard" Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (98RP, 95ST, 95WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2008 Galitzine Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon contains 1% Merlot. It offers a brooding aromatic array of toasty oak, Asian spices, incense, a hint of sage, violets, and assorted black fruits. More structured than the preceding wines, No doubting it’s Red Mountain say the Golitzins, it has plenty of ripe tannin more than balanced by loads of succulent fruit, exceptional density, richness and power. Bid on this bottle of 2013 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100DC, 100JS, 100RP, 100VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2013 Dominus is, to my way of thinking, one of the most profound wines Christian Moueix has yet made in his rather brilliant winemaking history, both in France and in Napa Valley. This wine, with very low yields of only 3,500 cases and a final blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, offers up notes of cedar wood, forest floor, loamy soil and oodles of blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. Very opaque purple in color, super-pure and intense, this wine has low acidity, but ripe, noticeable tannins. This is a 30- to 40-year wine and a profound effort from this famous vineyard in Yountville. Drink it over the next 40+ years. (RP)" (10/2015)

The wine was bottled in June, but it is showing no ill effects. This mammoth offering displays extraordinary concentration and purity, as well as a thick, unctuous texture with high tannin levels. Bid on this bottle of 2002 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 97WE, 97WS, 95W&S, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In contrast to the more linear, structured, but massive 2001, the 2002 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is pure fruit-bomb material, but stunningly proportioned, beautifully pure, with notes of melted chocolate, blackcurrant jam, sweet black cherries, licorice, camphor and charcoal. Very full-bodied, like the 2001, but much more lavishly fruited, it is more accessible and hedonistically, as well as intellectually, satisfying. If the 2001 is the long-distance runner, this comes across more like a middle-distancer. It had performed fabulously well since it was released by the winery, and even though it’s still an adolescent in terms of its evolution, this wine is a head-turner in wine tastings, and a spectacular effort from Napa. 2014 Louis M. Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Louis M. Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The bigger, richer 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petite Sirah aged 16 months in 50% new French and American casks. This is a bigger wine and close to 2% higher in alcohol at 15.5%. There are 11,000 cases of this big, full-bodied, boisterous Cabernet Sauvignon that has a dense ruby/purple color, notes of underbrush, forest floor, tobacco leaf and oodles of blackcurrants and black cherries, with a touch of woodsmoke. The full-bodied wine hits the palate with a cascade of glycerin, fruit and purity. This is a beauty-dense, rich, and structured, but capable of lasting 20 or more years. It is hard to believe that the iconic Louis M. Martini Winery first made Napa Cabernet Sauvignon in 1933. Louis Martini is long gone, but he played a significant role in establishing Napa and Sonoma valleys as premium grape-growing regions.

1974 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1974 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93VN, 92JG). Vinous: "Medium red. Sexy ripe aromas of plum, prune and dates are accented by cedar, eucalyptus and caraway seed. At once penetrating and suave on the palate, conveying a fine-grained texture and terrific energy for a 42-year-old Cabernet. Finishes with perfectly integrated, ripe tannins and lovely length and verve. Very sexy juice with considerable class. It strikes me that a bottle of this wine could not possibly cause a hangover. One of the most opulent, racy wines in this vertical, the 1997 literally explodes from the glass. Juicy dark red cherries, menthol, tobacco and licorice all make an appearance as the 1997 opens up over time. Readers holding the 1997 are in for a thrill. Even though the growing season was defined by hot weather, a short maturation cycle and a large crop, the wine turned out beautifully. In 1997 the blend is 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 4% Malbec and 1% Petit Verdot, a first for Opus One. (AG)" (06/2013)

2015 Sine Qua Non "Entre Chien et Loup'' White Blend
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2015 Sine Qua Non "Entre Chien et Loup'' White Blend (97JD, 97RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Entre Chien et Loup is a blend of 44% Chardonnay, 40% Roussanne, 8% Petit Manseng and 8% Viognier coming 44% from Bien Nacido Vineyard, 30% from the Cumulus (Estate) Vineyard and 26% from the Eleven Confessions (Estate) Vineyard. No settling was done to the juices—they were fermented as 'dirty' as possible and, as usual, they were not racked. This wine was matured for around 19 months (bottled April 12, 2017), in: 19% concrete eggs, 20% stainless steel, 20% used barrels and 41% new French oak. It opens with a positively electric nose of ripe apricots, pink grapefruit and green mango with notions of candied ginger, honeycomb, allspice and baking bread. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Las Posadas Proprietary Red is a massive fruit bomb from that high-elevation vineyard. Forest floor, floral notes, lead pencil shavings, licorice, fruitcake, cedar wood and oodles of black fruits soar from the glass and from the palate of this full-bodied, majestic, multi-layered wine. Like most 2012s, it is really strutting it’s stuff. It is still obviously young, but dramatic and flamboyant. This sensational wine should age effortlessly for 25-30+ years. (RP)" (10/2015)

1966 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (375ml)
Bid on this 3-half-bottle lot of 1966 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (375ml) (91JG, 90RP). John Gilman: "This was a good solid bottle of ’66 Mouton, which has always been my favorite between the ’62 and the ’70. There was a time fifteen years ago when I crossed paths with this wine very often, as it offered much better value than the 1970, but as the market has realized the sleeper status of this vintage of Mouton, its price has risen commensurately. The nose is complex and classy, offering up notes of red currants, cherries, woodsmoke, tobacco, a bit of old Rioja-like nuttiness, ginger and cedar. On the palate the wine is medium-full, complex and resolved, with solid acidity, melting tannins, and a good, long, clean finish of impressive balance." (06/2008)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champeaux has an animated bouquet with perfumed dark cherry and raspberry fruit, a hint of violet surfacing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with very good substance, fine delineation with crisp acidity. The fruit feels darker here than other cuvées from Fourrier, satin-like in texture with a seductive finish. 2006 Poggiarellino Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Poggiarellino Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. This Riserva has the powerful, classic flavor profile of Poggiarellino; the wild marasca cherry coupled with earth, tobacco and spice are readily apparent, but what sets this wine apart are its density and structure. The layers of spice and fruit are joined with a big, dense, powerful structure where evident tannin and the wine's interior core of acidity come together and give length and direction to the wine. Right now this wine seems huge, but it is just a bit of baby fat and rambunctious young tannin--a little boyhood vigor--in another year it will seem much more balanced. It will be drinkable in a couple of years, but this is a wine that will definitely age 15-20 years plus without an issue. This is the most impressive of all the Poggiarellino Brunello we have carried before. You won't be disappointed! (Greg St. Clair, K&L Italian Wine Buyer)

2013 Abreu "Las Posadas" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2013 Abreu "Las Posadas" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 98VN). The 2013 Las Posadas Proprietary Red was unreal from barrel, and that extraordinary Midas touch exhibited by Grimes and Abreu has extended to this wine out of bottle, which is a showcase for Howell Mountain and the meticulous viticulture and winemaking of Abreu and Grimes. Inky purple to the rim, with an extraordinary nose of sweet mulberry, intense graphite, scorched earth, smoldering wood charcoal, and massive blackberry and cassis fruit, this intriguing and provocative wine also throws in hints of licorice and black truffle. It is extremely rich, full-bodied, and nearly an out-of-body experience. Look for it to improve in age for 40 to 50 years. I can s

1990 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac
Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1990 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (94ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright red with a pale rim. Knockout nose of aromatic herbs, strawberry, sweet spices and acacia flower; yet another wine strongly marked by its Cabernet Franc presence. Fresh and vibrant, this absolutely dances on the palate with strawberry, sour red cherry and raspberry flavors complicated by gunflint and herbs. High acidity provides great clarity and cut to the long, floral, smoothly tannic finish. This has improved considerably with bottle age. Harvested from September 18 through October 3, this Mouton offers amazing balance and fragrance. In 1990 Mouton was still using a heavy toast for its barriques, which resulted in a smoky quality in the wines that was considered by many to be just as typical of Mouton as its opulence. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Andremily "No. 3" Santa Barbara County Syrah (100JD, 96RP, 93VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage, Jim Binns’ 2014 Andremily No 3 is a blend of 89% Syrah, 8% Mourvèdre and 3% Viognier that comes from three great sites in Santa Barbara County: Larner Vineyard, White Hawk and Alta Mesa (Mourvèdre).
