2014 Beaumont Mourvedre, Bot River

The history of the Beaumont estate stretches back to the 1700s and the Dutch East India Company. Jayne and Raoul Beaumont bought the property in 1974 and set about replanting the vineyards and began producing wines under the family name several years later. Today, the second generation is active in maintaining the vineyards and producing the wines. Beaumont Family Wines was the first to bottle a varietal Mourvedre, and the 2014 was made in a cooler, low-yielding vintage that produced ripe but elegant wines.
