2009 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2009 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne

98 points James Suckling: "The best Dom since 2002. A vintage with very restrained, powerful style that has been released non-sequentially after the 2009. This has a lighter stamp of highly curated, autolytic, toasty aromas than many recent releases. Instead, this delivers super fresh and intense aromas of lemons, grapefruit and blood-orange peel. Incredible freshness here. The palate has a very smoothly delivered, berry-pastry thread with light, sweet spices, stone fruit and fine citrus fruit. This really delivers. Drink now or hold." 2009 Egrot (formerly Elisabeth Goutorbe) Brut Grand Cru Champagne

This Champagne used to be called Elisabeth Goutorbe. Elisabeth changed the name over to her married name Egrot when she and her husband moved out of her parents facility in Ay, and into their own. This 100% Ay grand cru Champagne is composed of 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Chardonnay, all from the family estate. Although the Champagne has no dosage whatsoever, it is still full and rich. It has a great nose of baguette toast, cream and some of that famous Ay chalk. The finish is long, clean and very dry, but not too strict. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)

2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac Top Pick!
2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically – a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking tha ...Read More »

2009 Pierre Mineral Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2009 Pierre Mineral Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne

All Mesnil grand cru bargain!!!! This wine comes from all estate-grown fruit in the grand cru of Mesnil. It is a very clean wine with pure flavors and a complex, subtle nose. The texture is silky and delicate, but the finish is quite powerful. This is a very stylish wine, and a very good deal thanks to a direct buy from the producer. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)

From one of the greatest vintages for the region ever, this deep, saturated purple-colored effort offers an incredible bouquet of crème de cassis, blackcurrants, lead pencil shavings, damp earth, and graphite. 2009 Alexandre Le Brun "Cuvée Fascination" Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne (1.5L)

Alexandre Le Brun is the smallest producer that we import, or even carry from Champagne at just 7.5 acres. He only makes wine from half of the grapes he brings in, selling the rest off to negociants--his production is just one thousand cases a year total. This tiny scale allows Alex to do nearly everything himself and this hands-on approach shows through in the finished product. He only uses his own estate fruit for his Champagne, and although small, it is diverse. He farms 22 plots in eight different villages. Among these are the oldest vines that I hav ...Read More »

2009 Baron-Fuenté "Grand Millesime" Brut Champagne

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This Aube-based producer’s latest vintage release is rich and creamy. It is young, although it is possible to find the texture and density that will allow it to age. It is in a crisp style, tight with acidity, finishing taut and mineral. Drink from 2019. (RV)" (08/2018) K&L Notes: This all estate grown gem from Baron Fuente is composed of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, and 15% Pinot Noir from around Charly-sur-Marne. Gorgeous wine. Second wine of Mouton-Rothschild. 63% Cabernet Sauvignon. 22% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc." Full-bodied, reserved and so held back and muscular, but you don’t feel the tannins and the strength. A great wine. Give it two or three years. Try in 2020." Full to medium body, integrated tannins and a superb finish. A great wine." (08/2018) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Time flies, and the 904 for sale is already the 2009 Gran Reserva 904, as they didn't bottle it in 2008. 2009 Caol Ila 8 Year Old "Signatory" K&L Exclusive Single Hogshead Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

We've made it a point this year to buy as much young Caol Ila as possible! Not only is the distillery cranking out some of the finest peated malt anywhere on Islay, but it's taste extremely delicious even at a very young age. When Signatory showed us this exceptional cask, we knew it would be a struggle to get it to the states at a price that makes sense. Luckily, the new local representation for the brand are old friends and they were able to work out a deal to bring this exceptional cask into stock at a relatively reasonable rate. 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Disgorged in September 2017 with three grams of dosage, the 2009 Blanc de Blancs Brut Tendresse opens very clear, fresh and fine on the nose with discreet smoky notes and very elegant fruit aromas. Ripe and intense on the palate, with good grip and purity, this is an expressive, complex and persistent Blanc de Blancs with a long, refined and refreshing finish. Alexandre Le Brun is a young winemaker from Monthelon in the Ardenne (Marne) region of Champagne. He is a ninth-generation winemaker. His family established themselves in Champagne in 1750, and their cellars were built in 1822. The delectable Dilection is based on the incredible 2009 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced was planted in 1902. It is rich, but classically dry with dark cherry and strawberry fruit on the finish, which lingers.

A blend of 85% Merlot and tiny amounts of Cabernet Franc (12%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (3%), this big Pomerol boasts an opaque, moonless night inky/blue/purple color in addition to a gorgeous perfume of blueberry pie, incense, truffles, black raspberries, licorice and wood smoke. The cépages is sixty-five percent merlot and thirty-five percent cabernet sauvignon and the wine is never aged in more than ten percent new wood. Black fruit, cassis, licorice and spice box all jump from the glass in an intense Cabernet full of personality. This is the seventh vintage of George Pinot Noir. The wine is 100% Russian River Valley Pinot Noir that is unfined, unfiltered, using gravity in vinification instead of pumpovers. The fruit comes from the Martaella and King Family vineyards, which are adjacent to each other in the Russian River Valley and are both planted to Pommard clones. Analytically, it is high in tannin and the alcohol is 13.8%, nearly a record at this estate. This blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc was showin ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Baud Vin Jaune Château-Chalon (620ml)

Domaine Baud's flagship wine. A powerful, deeply golden elixir with intriguing notes of hazelnuts, almonds, truffle and curry. This shows finesse and elegance in spades, thanks to the very special blue marl soil in which it is grown and careful cultivation. The wines of Château Chalon must be made in the vin jaune style, aging for six years in barrel, which requires a veil of surface yeast to develop. This style of winemaking lends the wine its hallmark characteristics.

2009 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien 6-pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2009 Ducru-Beaucaillou is pure perfection and a much more sexy, opulent wine compared to the 2010. Crème de cassis, licorice, spice-box, lead pencil shavings and dried flower notes all - literally - soar from the glass of this incredible wine. Full-bodied, layered, expansive and deep, with sweet, sweet tannin and no hard edges, it’s already impossible to resist, yet is going to keep for four to five decades. I think the 2010 will be a longer-lived wine, but I’m not sure it will ever deliver the opulence or hedonistic pleasure ...Read More »

2009 Peter Michael "Cuvée Indigène" Knights Valley Chardonnay Back In Stock!
2009 Peter Michael "Cuvée Indigène" Knights Valley Chardonnay

95 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Greenish gold. Pungent aromas of dried pear, lemon pith, saffron and smoky lees, with slow-building minerality and a touch of peat. Densely packed but energetic, offering lively orchard and citrus fruit flavors and an exotic floral quality. The peaty note resonates strongly on the finish, which hangs on with impressive tenacity. For all its power, this Chardonnay conveys a sense of weightlessness. (ST)" (06/2011) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Chardonnay Cuvee Indigene is a tot ...Read More »

2009 Ormes de Pez, St-Estèphe

92 points James Suckling: "A big and chewy wine with plum and currant character. Full body, lots of tannins and a big backbone. Needs at least three to four years of age." (07/2014) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A delicious wine, so fruity. It does have the proper tannins but it is a wine that is already approachable with its sweet fruits-a pleasure to taste. However, for the future, watch those tannins. (RV)" (02/2012) 92 points Wine Spectator: "This is tight and precise, with lots of cut from start to finish, as chiseled graphite and iron notes suppo ...Read More »

2009 Vieux-Château-Certan, Pomerol (Pre-Arrival)

100 points James Suckling: "This is a wine that had extreme intensity of electrifying tannins and acidity, with supercharged fruit. Full-bodied, yet agile and lively. It touches every taste bud on your palate. Chocolate mousse and fruit. I am lost for words. Legendary 1950 all over again. Try it in 2020." (02/2012) 99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009's nearly 14% natural alcohol, exquisite ripeness, and incredible complex bouquet of Asian spices, fruitcake, licorice, smoke, blackberries and black currants are to die for. A blend of 84% M ...Read More »

2009 L'Église Clinet, Pomerol

97-100 points Wine Spectator: "The nose on this already suggests a deep and contemplative wine with blackberry, dried flowers and sweet berries. Evolves to black olive and hints of asphalt. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and tangy, rich fruit. It really grabs hold of you and wants to tell you it's special. Loads of ripe tannins too. Big and structured. Turns to tapenade. (JS, Web-2010)" 99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Proprietor Denis Durantou has produced a blockbuster Pomerol from a blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, tipping t ...Read More »
