2009 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne Top Pick!
2009 Dom Pérignon Brut Champagne

98 points James Suckling: "The best Dom since 2002. A vintage with very restrained, powerful style that has been released non-sequentially after the 2009. This has a lighter stamp of highly curated, autolytic, toasty aromas than many recent releases. Instead, this delivers super fresh and intense aromas of lemons, grapefruit and blood-orange peel. Incredible freshness here. The palate has a very smoothly delivered, berry-pastry thread with light, sweet spices, stone fruit and fine citrus fruit. This really delivers. Drink now or hold." 2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac Top Pick!
2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac

100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An amazing wine in every sense, this classic, full-bodied Pauillac is the quintessential Pontet Canet from proprietor Alfred Tesseron, who continues to reduce yields and farms his vineyards biodynamically – a rarity in Bordeaux. Black as a moonless night, the 2009 Pontet Canet offers up notes of incense, graphite, smoke, licorice, creme de cassis and blackberries. A wine of irrefutable purity, laser-like precision, colossal weight and richness, and sensational freshness, this is a tour de force in winemaking tha ...Read More »

2009 Montrose, St-Estèphe 6-pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

100 points James Suckling: "Blueberries, currants and Indian spices on the nose follow through to a full body, with ultra-fine tannins and a lovely finish. It's intense and refined. A beauty. It goes on for minutes. Speechless. Better and cleaner than the great 1990. Try in 2022." (02/2012) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Harvested between September 17 and October 5, this wine seems always open for business, so to speak, much like the great 1982s. 2009 Vega Sicilia "Unico" Ribera del Duero 6-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

Non-sequential releasing with the 2005 and 2006 being released after the 2007 and 2008. This 2009 has good ripeness and deep fruit-presence on the nose with rich red and dark plums, subtly earthy spice, cedar and fresh tobacco. 2009 Baron-Fuenté "Grand Millesime" Brut Champagne

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This Aube-based producer’s latest vintage release is rich and creamy. It is young, although it is possible to find the texture and density that will allow it to age. It is in a crisp style, tight with acidity, finishing taut and mineral. Drink from 2019. (RV)" (08/2018) K&L Notes: This all estate grown gem from Baron Fuente is composed of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Meunier, and 15% Pinot Noir from around Charly-sur-Marne. 2009 Talisker 8 Year Old "Old Particular - K&L Exclusive" Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml) Top Pick!
2009 Talisker 8 Year Old "Old Particular - K&L Exclusive" Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

Talisker has sort of this mythical quality in the pantheon of great malts. The majestic distillery on the banks of Loch Harport has long been a staple of any good Scotch selection thanks to its inclusion in the original "Classic Malt" line-up. While it was always one of the more available high quality malts on the market, Talisker was almost NEVER bottled by independents. Word was that Diageo prohibited the sale of casks to blenders under that name, but a special few bottlers, like Gordon & Macphail, had access to filling contracts which allowed them to ...Read More »

2009 Barrett & Barrett Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is surprisingly powerful. It has closed down quite a bit since I tasted it last year, which is a great sign for the future. Black fruit, cassis, licorice and spice box all jump from the glass in an intense Cabernet full of personality. The 2009 is loaded with tremendous potential, but its best days are still at least a few years away. This full-bodied, rich, enveloping wine is striking today. 2009 Clos du Mont Olivet "Cuvée du Papet" Châteauneuf-du-Pape

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Needing more patience, the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee du Papet (75% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre and the balance Syrah aged in foudre) comes from the estate’s oldest vines planted in such famous sites as Mont Olivet and Bois Dauphin. Usually about 1,000 cases are produced and the 2009, which tops the scales at 15.5% alcohol, is brilliant. 2009 Caol Ila 8 Year Old "Signatory" K&L Exclusive Single Hogshead Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

We've made it a point this year to buy as much young Caol Ila as possible! Not only is the distillery cranking out some of the finest peated malt anywhere on Islay, but it's taste extremely delicious even at a very young age. When Signatory showed us this exceptional cask, we knew it would be a struggle to get it to the states at a price that makes sense. Luckily, the new local representation for the brand are old friends and they were able to work out a deal to bring this exceptional cask into stock at a relatively reasonable rate. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and the balance Cabernet Franc that hit 13.9% alcohol, it offers everything you could ask of a wine and reveals a saturated purple color as well as incredible notes of crème de cassis, blueberries, lead pencil, exotic Spices, and dried flowers. The delectable Dilection is based on the incredible 2009 vintage with 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier. Only French oak is used and the vineyard where the grapes are sourced was planted in 1902. Full to medium body, integrated tannins and a superb finish. A great wine." (08/2018) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Time flies, and the 904 for sale is already the 2009 Gran Reserva 904, as they didn't bottle it in 2008. I have always been a great fan of Latour’s Corton-Charlemagne, especially the wines of the top vintages of the1980s. I have some bottles of 1989 in my cellar that are drinking beautifully now. 2009 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge, Pessac-Léognan (Pre-Arrival)

97 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blueberries and lemon rind. Full body, with soft and velvety tannins and bright fruity finish. Refined and beautiful. Layered wine. Pure fruit. Gravelley. Stoney. So classy and complex." (02/2012) 96 points Decanter: "Remains deep damson in colour even at nearly 10 years old, and on the attack you find full and true blackberry cassis and bilberry notes, we are really building up layers and complexity on the nose. Gorgeous wine, just beautiful balance and juiciness, and a silken texture to the fruit, tannins that sup ...Read More »

2009 Clos Lunelles, Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux

93 points James Suckling: "This is big and juicy with lovely blackberry and chocolate character. Full and round with pretty fruit and a long finish. A beautiful wine from Castillon. Fabulous. " (04/2012) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This is a gorgeous effort, made from a blend of 80% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Cropped at 22 hectoliters per hectare from their clay over limestone soils, the wine displays oodles of new oak, crushed chalk, and blueberry and blackberry fruit ...Read More »

2009 Latour, Pauillac 3-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

100 points James Suckling: "A breathtaking combination of dried flowers and minerals, with dark fruits such as currants and blackberries. Full-bodied, with fabulous fruit concentration, yet its compacted. Velvety tannins. So much fruit and beauty. It's the quality of the tannins that are magic. It is the famous 1959 all over again. Amazing." (01/2012) 100 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 91.3% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8.7% Merlot with just under 14% natural alcohol, the 2009 Latour is basically a clone of the super 2003, only more struct ...Read More »

2009 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac 6-pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A wine I’ve been lucky enough to have numerous times since release, the 2009 Pontet Canet is one of those magical efforts that wine lovers encounter far too infrequently. From one of the greatest vintages for the region ever, this deep, saturated purple-colored effort offers an incredible bouquet of crème de cassis, blackcurrants, lead pencil shavings, damp earth, and graphite. This gives way to a full-bodied, powerful Pauillac that carries a massive amount of sweet fruit yet stays light and beautifully balanced on the palate. Wi ...Read More »

2009 Saint-Pierre, St-Julien 12-Pack in OWC (Pre-Arrival)

98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The all-time greatest wine I have ever tasted from Saint-Pierre, this estate, the smallest of the grand cru classes of St.-Julien, has an opaque purple color and a spectacular nose of subtle charcoal, creme de cassis, blackberry, and incense. Full-bodied, with striking intensity and flamboyantly rich, exuberant flavors bursting with extract, the St. Pierre has no hard edges, but rather massive, incredibly well-endowed blockbuster style, which should prove to be monumental. Give it 6-8 years to take on more defini ...Read More »

2009 Domaine Perrot-Minot Mazoyères-Chambertin Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes (1.5L)

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is mild reduction here as well but it does not significantly hinder the evaluation of the spicy dark berry fruit and pungent earth aromas that precede the textured, intense and mouth coating big-bodied and overtly muscular flavors which are naturally sweet, rich and powerful with fine but dense tannins that shape the wonderfully persistent finish. Despite the reduction, it's clear that this is a dramatic wine that possesses excellent depth of character." (01/2011) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " ...Read More »
