1994 Miltonduff 24 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky (750ml) Top Pick!
1994 Miltonduff 24 Year Old "Old Particular" K&L Exclusive Single Barrel Cask Strength Single Malt Whisky (750ml)

The strikingly underappreciated Miltonduff distillery is unique in so many ways. Built on the site of an old mill for the Pluscarden Abbey, the distillery's old stone buildings hide one of Speyside's most delicious malts. Originally a Priory founded by King Alexander II in 1230, the area became renowned for illicit distillation. Originally licensed in 1824, the name, Milton, was taken from a still that operated on the property. The Duff family owned the lands surrounding the abbey, hence the name Miltonduff. The malt became an important component of the ...Read More »

1994 Vineyard 29 (Grace Family) Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a 3-acre vineyard, four hundred cases were produced of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak casks, it is a tightly-knit, black currant-scented wine with plenty of sweet oak, as well as powerful, rich flavors that have been melded into a restrained, elegant, authoritatively flavorful wine. Patience is mandatory as this black beauty needs 4-5 more years of cellaring; it should keep for two decades. (RP)" (12/1997) 90 points Wine Spectator: "Marked by spice, cedar and dill n ...Read More »

1994 Bodega Weinert "Tonel Unico" Malbec Mendoza

Given its large, well used assortment of wooden toneles and fouders, housed in a no frills winery in the heart of Mendoza's primera zona, it is easy to compare Weinert to such wine world traditionalist stalwarts as Lopez de Heredia in Rioja, or Lebanon's Chateau Musar (whose wines are brought in by Weinert's US importer). The famous tonel unico bottling is from a single, 60 year old Malbec vineyard, fermented and aged in a single tonel for 24 years prior to bottling. That's right, 24 years! A truly original bottling in the world of wine.

1994 Hartwell Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1994 Hartwell Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 reveals that vintage's sweeter fruit, and harmonious personality. It has a dark ruby/purple color, followed by plenty of blackberry and blackcurrant-like fruit in the nose, complemented by some subtle toasty oak. The wine displays a richer, riper personality than the 1993, medium to full body, more layers of fruit, and finer integration of wood, tannin, and acidity. It is an impressively-endowed, outstanding, well-balanced Cabernet that admirably reflects its Stags Leap origin. Hartwell's Cabernet Sauvig ...Read More »

1994 Groth Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1994 Groth Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Groth was established in 1982 by Dennis and Judy Groth. Dennis, who was working as President of the International Division of Atari at the time, saw the original purchase of the 121-acre parcel in Oakville as an investment before moving his family to the property full-time in 1985. Groth is still family owned and operated to this day and has made a name as one of the Napa Valley's most prominent and consistent producers of cabernet sauvignon.

1994 La Jota "13th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The formidable 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon 13th Anniversary Release may be the finest Cabernet Sauvignon Joan and Bill Smith have yet made. It boasts an opaque purple color, followed by a smoky, toasty, mineral, and cassis-scented nose, great persistence in the mouth, massive body, and an expansive, chewy, blockbuster finish, without coming across as excessively heavy or overweight. Give it 5-6 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 20-25 years. It is a Cabernet legend in the making! (RP)" (12/1997) 93 ...Read More »

1994 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot Back In Stock!
1994 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The just-released 1994 Merlot is a terrific example of this varietal, and one of the finest I have ever tasted from California. The wine reveals a dense purple color, followed by a super fragrant nose of chocolate, mocha, toast, and black-cherry fruit. Full-bodied, but not heavy, this expansive, chewy, opulently textured wine should drink well for 15 or more years. With the assistance of consulting oenologist Helen Turley, the Pahlmeyer wines have emerged as some of the finest in northern California. At present, ...Read More »

1994 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Back In Stock!
1994 Duckhorn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

90 points Wine Spectator: "This is an immense, deeply concentrated, richly flavored wine that's quite tannic at this stage, balancing the currant, plum and berry flavors that persist through the finish. Best to cellar into 2001 or beyond. " (05/1997) K&L Notes: Founded by Dan and Margaret Duckhorn in 1976, Duckhorn Vineyards has been crafting classic Bordeaux varietals from the Napa Valley for over 30 years. Famed for their Merlot wines, somehow the Duckhorns managed to sneak their Cabernet Sauvignon wines out the door without anyone noticing. A combin ...Read More »

1994 Cockburn Vintage Port (375ml) Back In Stock!
1994 Cockburn Vintage Port (375ml)

92 points Wine Spectator: "A big and juicy, young vintage Port. Round, with loads of very ripe roasted and raisiny character. Full-bodied and medium-sweet, with a tannic backbone. (JS)" (04/1997) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An attractive, smoky, tarry, roasted black fruit character dominates this opaque ruby/purple-colored wine's aromatic profile. Low acidity, sweet, rich fruit, and a forward, expansive feel suggest this full-bodied wine will mature quickly, but it will last for at least two decades. Like a few other 1994s, it almost seem ...Read More »

1994 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien (375ml)

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is no secret that Anthony Barton's efforts over the last decade at his St.-Julien estate, Léoville-Barton, is resulting in terrific wines at still reasonable prices. This estate has been extremely successful in recent vintages. An impressive, serious, classic Bordeaux for collectors who are willing to forget about it for at least a decade, this well-endowed offering is a 30-year wine. The dense, murky, purple color, closed aromatics, massive flavor richness, and high tannin recall the old, non-compromised, bee ...Read More »

1994 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Grand-Puy-Lacoste is the drinker's Pauillac. It is not an investment wine (having been largely forgotten by the trophy hunters and investors looking to make a quick buck), although certain vintages (1982 and 1990) have tripled in price. Grand-Puy-Lacoste, usually loaded with character and personality, has enjoyed three fine vintages in 1993-95, with each of these years under-priced for such quality. The 1994 has turned out to be an outstanding effort for this estate. The wine reveals even more flesh than it did p ...Read More »

1994 Angélus, St-Emilion (3L) (Previously $1800)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the new classification of St.-Emilion, justice was certainly served with the elevation of Angelus to premier grand cru classe status. No Bordeaux estate has been making as concentrated and consistently high quality wines as has Angelus since 1988. Even in the rain-plagued vintage of 1992, Angelus produced a wine of uncommon power, ripeness, and intensity. This estate is in many ways symbolic of what heights Bordeaux can achieve when a property is managed by someone as passionate and driven as Hubert de Bouard. ...Read More »

1994 Through The Grapevine "Fanny Fougerat" Single Cask Borderies Cognac(750ml)

Through the Grapevine has taken the Scottish independent bottler model to the Charentes scouring the chais there for special casks and small batch blends. This amazing single cask from Fanny Fougerat is one of the few vintage Cognac available and represents 4 generations of experience producing brandy. The Fougerat family has long produced super high quality cognac to be sold to the large houses, in particular Martell, but in 2013 the Fanny the next in line to take over the business, began her own line. Drawing from the families stocks they selected this ...Read More »

1994 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Dunn Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94CG, 94RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994s might be ready to drink within 10-15 years. It is hard to believe these wines spend 30 months in oak casks before bottling as they are incredibly unevolved and backward when released. The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa reveals an opaque purple color, followed by a sweet, rich, black currant and creme de cassis-scented nose with no evidence of oak. This fruit bomb displays considerable breadth and expansiveness on the palate, in essence revealing only two dimensions - fruit and tannin. It is slightly softer and more precocious than the 1995 and 1996, so perhaps it will only need 10, rather than 15 years of cellaring. This immensely impressive Cabernet is a candidate for 20-30 years of cellaring. One of the issues about which Randy Dunn is sensitive is the fact that his wines are so remarkably consistent that it is often difficult to tell vintages apart. I think the

1994 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC)
Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1994 Dominus Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (OWC - 99RP, 95DC, 93VN) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Christian Moueix and his talented winemaking team continue to rewrite the definition of a Napa Valley reference point wine. I have had a difficult time keeping the corks in my bottles of 1994 Dominus. Eight-thousand cases were produced from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 12% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. In this vintage, 174 days passed between bud break and the harvest, a remarkable period of time for any wine region in the world. The 1994 is a strikingly thick, compellingly rich wine with the texture of a great Pomerol, despite being made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine exhibits a dense purple color, and an incredibly fragrant nose of jammy black fruits, spice, smoke, and loamy, truffle-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied, with thrilling levels of extract and richness, but no sense of heaviness or ha

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 1994 Harlan Estate Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (1.5L) (OWC - 100RP, 98ST, 97VN, 96WS) in original wood. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " What can I say about the 1994? I have tasted the wine for three consecutive years, and each time it satisfied all of my requirements for perfection. The opaque purple color is followed by spectacular aromatics that soar from the glass, offering up celestial levels of black currants, minerals, smoked herbs, cedar wood, coffee, and pain grille. In the mouth, this seamless legend reveals full body, and exquisite layers of phenomenally pure and rich fruit, followed by a 40+ second finish. While accessible, the 1994 begs for another 5-7 years of cellaring. It should easily last for 30+ years. Every possible jagged edge - acidity, alcohol, tannin, and wood - is brilliantly intertwined in what seems like a diaphanous format. What is so extraordinary about this large-scaled wine, with its dazzling display of aromatics and prodigious

Bid on this bottle of 1994 Pontet-Canet, Pauillac (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the finest as well as longest-lived wines of the vintage, this opaque purple-colored 1994 needs 7-10 years of cellaring. This rich, impressive, full-bodied wine represents the finest Pontet-Canet produced since the 1961. This full-bodied, purely made wine is crammed with black currant fruit, as well as forbiddingly tannic and backward. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2025. (RP)" (01/1998)
