1994 Léoville-Barton, St-Julien

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "It is no secret that Anthony Barton's efforts over the last decade at his St.-Julien estate, Leoville-Barton, is resulting in terrific wines at still reasonable prices. This estate has been extremely successful in recent vintages. An impressive, serious, classic Bordeaux for collectors who are willing to forget about it for at least a decade, this well-endowed offering is a 30-year wine. The dense, murky, purple color, closed aromatics, massive flavor richness, and high tannin recall the old, non-compromised, bee ...Read More »

1994 Angélus, St-Emilion (3L)

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In the new classification of St.-Emilion, justice was certainly served with the elevation of Angelus to premier grand cru classe status. No Bordeaux estate has been making as concentrated and consistently high quality wines as has Angelus since 1988. Even in the rain-plagued vintage of 1992, Angelus produced a wine of uncommon power, ripeness, and intensity. This estate is in many ways symbolic of what heights Bordeaux can achieve when a property is managed by someone as passionate and driven as Hubert de Bouard. ...Read More »

1994 Taylor Vintage Port Back In Stock!
1994 Taylor Vintage Port

100 points James Suckling: "This is, to date, the greatest Vintage Port ever from here. It overwhelmed me years ago when I tasted it from barrel, but only now is it crossing gradually into its drinking window. The intensity is still mind-boggling here, with sweet-and-sour notes as well as mounds of clay. There are violets lurking somewhere too. A full-bodied, medium sweet and sublime Vintage Port, showing forest fruits and freshly picked blackberries on the palate in the form of a creamy, focused and tannic texture." 1994 Through The Grapevine "Fanny Fougerat" Single Cask Borderies Cognac(750ml)

Through the Grapevine has taken the Scottish independent bottler model to the Charentes scouring the chais there for special casks and small batch blends. This amazing single cask from Fanny Fougerat is one of the few vintage Cognac available and represents 4 generations of experience producing brandy. The Fougerat family has long produced super high quality cognac to be sold to the large houses, in particular Martell, but in 2013 the Fanny the next in line to take over the business, began her own line. Drawing from the families stocks they selected this ...Read More »

1994 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac

90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Grand-Puy-Lacoste is the drinker's Pauillac. It is not an investment wine (having been largely forgotten by the trophy hunters and investors looking to make a quick buck), although certain vintages (1982 and 1990) have tripled in price. Grand-Puy-Lacoste, usually loaded with character and personality, has enjoyed three fine vintages in 1993-95, with each of these years under-priced for such quality. The 1994 has turned out to be an outstanding effort for this estate. The wine reveals even more flesh than it did p ...Read More »

1994 Pahlmeyer Napa Valley Merlot

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The just-released 1994 Merlot is a terrific example of this varietal, and one of the finest I have ever tasted from California. The wine reveals a dense purple color, followed by a super fragrant nose of chocolate, mocha, toast, and black-cherry fruit. Full-bodied, but not heavy, this expansive, chewy, opulently textured wine should drink well for 15 or more years. With the assistance of consulting oenologist Helen Turley, the Pahlmeyer wines have emerged as some of the finest in northern California. At present, ...Read More »

1994 La Jota "13th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (lightly soiled labels) Back In Stock!
1994 La Jota "13th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L) (lightly soiled labels)

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The formidable 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon 13th Anniversary Release may be the finest Cabernet Sauvignon Joan and Bill Smith have yet made. It boasts an opaque purple color, followed by a smoky, toasty, mineral, and cassis-scented nose, great persistence in the mouth, massive body, and an expansive, chewy, blockbuster finish, without coming across as excessively heavy or overweight. Give it 5-6 years of cellaring, and drink it over the following 20-25 years. It is a Cabernet legend in the making! (RP)" (12/1997) 93 ...Read More »

1994 Staglin Family Vineyard Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon is a graceful, vanillin-scented, medium to full-bodied wine that emphasizes Cabernet's red fruit character. It is pure and well-balanced, with moderate tannin in the attractive, Bordeaux-like finish. Anticipated maturity: 2001-2016. " (12/1997) Wine Spectator: "This is a big, ruggedly tannic youngster, with dense, complex currant, pencil lead, blackberry and cedary oak flavors that offer complexity and richness. But on the finish the tannins are nearly overpowering. (JL)" (11/2004) K&L Notes ...Read More »

1994 Bodegas Alejandro Fernandez "Tinto Pesquera Reserva Especial" Ribera del Duero Back In Stock!
1994 Bodegas Alejandro Fernandez "Tinto Pesquera Reserva Especial" Ribera del Duero

96 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Incredibly sweet aromas of boysenberry, steak tartare and exotic oak. Creamy, thick and primal, with a sauvage animal note adding to its essence of dark berry complexity. Totally unevolved, especially next to the regular '94 Pesquera, which is starting to express itself. The nearly painful finish features huge but even tannins and powerful thrust, along with finishing notes of smoke and espresso. Wow! This is cheap (and the Tinto Pesquera is even better value) when you consider today's Bordeaux price ...Read More »

1994 Biale "Aldo's Vineyard" Napa Zinfandel

93 points and a Highly Recommended designation from the Wine Spectator: "A Zinfandel in a rich yet elegant style, showing nuances of ripe cherry, raspberry, mint and spice. The toasty oak flavors fold in nicely on the finish. The best yet from this winery. 780 cases made." (05/96)

1994 Domaine des Baumard Quarts de Chaume
Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 1994 Domaine des Baumard Quarts de Chaume. Wine Spectator: "Quite mature, with dark amber color and a sharp note of furniture polish and humus. 1994 Williams Selyem "Rochioli Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1994 Williams Selyem "Rochioli Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (92ST). 92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Good medium red. Deep, rather low-toned aromas of earth, camphor, underbrush and mushroom; smells like maturing Burgundy. Then sweet, deep and surprisingly high-toned in the mouth, with captivating flavors of brambly cranberry, flowers and minerals complemented by sweet oak. Much livelier in the mouth than the nose suggests but there's no reason to cellar this one any longer. Interestingly, this one had the lowest pH at the time of bottling of any of these vintages, at 3.33." (08/07)
