99 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Solari, which is again 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, flirts with perfection. It spent 20 months in 80% new French oak and hails from their Cortina Gravel and clay sectors of the vineyard. They made 793 cases of this compelling wine, which offers great freshness and energy, profound depth of flavor, an opaque black/purple color, and oodles of pure crème de cassis and blackberry fruit intermixed with incense, charcoal and white flowers. It’s a stunner to drink now and over the next three deca...

92 points John Gilman: "As I have written in the past, I adore Lore Olds’ beautiful Zinfandel bottlings from his Sky Vineyards, located up above Mayacamas on the top of Mount Veeder. The vineyards are farmed organically, the winery is powered by a single solar panel and the wine is raised in barrels that range from one to ten years of age. The 2014 Zinfandel is the current release from this iconic producer, coming in at an even fourteen percent octane and offering up a beautifully refined and complex nose of black raspberries, dried eucalyptus, spit-roas...

2014 Samsara "Cargasacchi Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (Previously $60+) (Previously $60+)
Top Pick!
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Pale ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi Vineyard offers up fragrant lavender, Provence herbs and damp earth scents over a core of Bing cherries and wild strawberries with hints of tree sap and cinnamon stick. The medium-bodied palate gives a solid frame of grainy/chewy tannins and lively acid, backing up the intense red berry and earthy layers nicely, finishing with great persistence. (LPB) 94+" (09/2017)

2014 Samsara "Melville Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (Previously $60+) (Previously $60+)
Top Pick!
94 points Vinous: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Melville Vineyard is the most polished and silky of this range of Pinots. Bright, red-toned fruit, orange zest, mint and rose petal lead into the seamless, silky finish. The Melville is a wine of exceptional beauty and finesse. Moreover, the balance of fruit, acid and tannin is impeccable. (AG)" (09/2017) 93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Melville is a blend of Clone 667 and Pommard. It’s a big, sweetly fruited beauty readers are going to love. Framboise, red currants, salty minerality and hints of dusty...

2014 Byron "Rita's Crown Vineyard" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (Previously $65) (Previously $65)
Top Pick!
93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2014 Pinot Noir Rita's Crown is my favorite in the lineup and has a similar toasty, vanilla hint (which is present in most of these latest releases), with terrific framboise, strawberry and spice nuances developing with time in the glass. Medium-bodied, impressively concentrated and elegant, with a great finish, give bottles a year or two and drink through 2026. This is a terrific site located in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA, the this 2014 saw one-third whole clusters and 15 months in 46% new French oak." (08/2017) 90 points Wine...

2014 Turley "Rattlesnake Ridge" Howell Mountain Zinfandel
Back In Stock!
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Turley has always excelled with high-elevation sites on Howell Mountain. From a site at 2,600 feet, the 2014 Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge (15.6% alcohol) is a beauty, with floral notes intermixed with cool, bluish fruits, raspberry, forest floor and spice all present in this dense, ruby/purple wine that cuts a broad swath across the palate. Like all of these wines, despite the high-octane alcohol, there is not a sense of heaviness or burn. This is beautiful, pure, rich, multidimensional Zinfandel to drink over the...

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "One of my favorites in the lineup, the 2014 Pinot Noir Las Hermanas (clones 115 and 777) offers lots of red currants, blueberries, leather and violet aromas and flavors, medium-bodied richness, a plump, rounded textured, and more fruit characteristics than most in the lineup." (08/2017) 93 points Vinous: "One of the most distinctive wines in the range, the 2014 Pinot Noir Las Hermanas Vineyard is captivating. Fresh, nuanced and super-expressive, it hits all the right notes. Intense, perfumed aromatics, bright fruit and fine, chi...

Such finesse. 44% petit verdot (Vine Hill), 44% cabernet franc (To Kolan) and 12% cabernet franc (To Kolan). So right now but will be glorious with bottle age." (05/2017) 95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Proprietary Red from Oakville is 44% Cabernet Franc, 44% Petit Verdot and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon. 95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The inky colored 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a classic blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot that spent two years in mostly used barrels. It offers a beautiful, elegant, yet concentrated style in its crème de cassis, licorice, tobacco leaf, graphite and mineral aromatics. Reminding me of the 2002 with its beautiful depth of fruit and ripe, building tannin, it's an age-worthy, balanced wine that's going to evolve for 2+ decades. 2014 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Back In Stock!
93 points Decanter: "An opaque color, cassis and bright red fruit nose, this is more structured than the Alexander Valley from the same vintage. It has more mouth-coating density and a longer finish, but right now it’s less layered and complex. Using less new oak is really a plus for this wine as well as the increased amount of Cabernet Franc. (EM)" (09/2019) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Distinctive, with lots of singed sage, sassafras, black tea and bay leaf notes out front, giving this aromatic distinction while the core of gently mulled plum, black c...

94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The real knock-out is the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. Although it’s under $100, it’s still not a bargain, but this is a superb example of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. Inky purple in color, with beautiful blackberry and cassis fruit, a touch of creosote, charcoal and some subtle background oak, the wine hits the palate with authority, serious extract and richness, but enough acidity to frame up its boisterous and exuberant parts. It is a big, rich, concentrated, mouth-filling Cabernet Sauvignon with relatively ...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Very dark in the glass, this bottling shows blackberry jam, crushed slate, turned black loam and hot baking spice on the nose. There is prominent structure to the palate, where olallieberry meets with smashed clove, bay leaf, black pepper and vanilla. The acid is seamlessly integrated, so drink 2018–2030. (MK)" (06/2016)

Rich, dramatic and full-bodied, yet with remarkable translucence, the 2014 takes hold of all the senses and never lets up. Violet, lavender, mint, dark spice and leather come together in a crescendo of aromas, flavors and textures that is hard to describe. Readers who can find the 2014 should not hesitate. 96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon G-III comes from a vineyard that was often the backbone of the great Beaulieu Private Reserves of the 1950s and 1960s. It is now owned by Andy Beckstoffer and is undoubtedly a first growth-quality site. This wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from clones 337 and 7, and offers fabulous intensity. Inky purple, with notes of blackberry, blueberry, violets, charcoal and forest floor, it is deep and full-bodied, but has the vintage’s endearing sweetness, tannin and suppleness. (RP)" (10/2016) ...

This wine, at 15,500 cases, is telltale opaque bluish/purple with a super nose of barbecue meat and herbs, blackberries, blueberries, white flowers and sweet, dark raspberries in the background. It is more similar than dissimilar to the Juliet – deep, rich, full-bodied, multi-dimensional, with stunning opulence and fabulous fruit and concentration. Deep, inky and utterly spellbinding in its beauty, the Pesenti takes hold of all the sense and never lets up, in the way only the wines of Paso Robles can. Layers of rich, inky fruit open up effortlessly in an unctuous, breathtakingly beautiful, super-concentrated wine. And the price for such phenomenal quality? A song, especially compared to the prices Paso rock star producers command. (AG)" (12/2016) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Petite Syrah Pesenti...

92 points John Gilman: "The winery’s assertion that 2014 will be a much more classically-styled vintage at Mayacamas than the inaugural 2013 seems quite likely, based on this excellent merlot. It is still just a bit riper in profile than the 1999 cellar release that was paired up with it at our dinner, but this is still good, old Mayacamas merlot in personality. The bouquet is deep and impressively complex, offering up notes of sweet dark berries, cigar smoke, dark chocolate, a fine base of soil and a nice touch of fresh herbs in the upper register. On t...

93 points Vinous: "Hibou's 2014 Pinot Noir Riddle Vineyard is gorgeous. Floral, open-knit and gracious, the 2014 possesses striking depth and density in its red cherry/plum fruit. Exotic spice and blood orange notes give the 2014 its brightness and acid punch, both of which serve to balance the overtness of the fruit. The 50% whole clusters are mostly felt in the wine's saline, savory finish. This is very nicely done. (AG)" (08/2016) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A youthful wine given 50% whole-cluster fermentation, this is complex and delicate, restrain...

96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From the pure white soils/limestone terroir emerges the 2014 Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard (15.8% alcohol). This is a warm area, but with cold soils, and the result is one of the great classics of Zinfandel from the Central Coast. The intensity of flavor, the colossal richness and the full-bodied power are totally concealed beneath a cascade of fruit. This multidimensional wine reveals gorgeous minerality, loads of black and red fruits, and even a hint of spring flowers. This is a stunner that is layered, extremely ...

2014 Turley "Mead Ranch" Atlas Peak Zinfandel
Back In Stock!
94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Zinfandel Mead Ranch from the red volcanic soils of Atlas Peak exhibits loads of briary berry fruit, plenty of loamy underlying earthiness and forest floor, spice, pepper and fruitcake notes. It is a big, spicy, rich and complex, and no shy wine at 15.9% alcohol. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. By Turley’s standards, these are relatively young vines – planted in the 1970s! Highly Recommended* (TF) " (09/2016) 91 points Connoisseurs Guide: "Insistently and very confidently fixed on lightly spicy, ripe berry fruit and doing a deft balancing act between refinement and richness that allows a good deal of both, this very well-structured wine may be a bit constrained by its y...

2014 Turley "Dusi Vineyard" Paso Robles Zinfandel
Back In Stock!
93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From Paso Robles, the 2014 Zinfandel Dusi Vineyard (planted in 1945) is the more potent of the Turley 2014s, coming in at a lofty 16% alcohol. It is not overripe, not Amarone-like, or showing any heat. This wine has plenty of blackcurrant and black cherry fruit, licorice, and roasted herbs that are reminiscent of Mediterranean-styled wine, with a full-bodied mouthfeel and a heady, lush finish. This is impressive, but clearly one of the bigger-boned, larger-scaled Zinfandels in the 2014 portfolio. (RP)" (04/2016) ...

This wine, which has an opaque blue/purple color to the edge of the glass, offers notes of pen ink, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur, camphor, charcoal embers, and some graphite and background oak. It is full-bodied and again has that layered, multi-tiered mid-palate and stunningly pure, rich finish with no ...

Blackcurrants, unsmoked tobacco, graphite, and damp earth all flow from this ethereally textured, seamless, gorgeous wine that has no hard edges, excellent acidity and a great finish. It’s slightly more elegant and polished than the more powerful 2015 and will shine for 20-25 years." (12/2017) 97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot, is the 2014 The Absurd, basically a choice of their finest barrels, or as winemaker and owner Benoit Touquette says, 'The crème de la crème.' Plum sauce, exotic spices, white pepper, candy corn and spring flowers, it hits the palate with a broad, expansive, sexy style, ripe tannin, no weight and a blockbuster finish. It’s so well balanced and seamless, it can come across as a touch easy, yet it has terrific complexity, good mid-palate density and a great, great finish. This is what great wine is all about." Bid on this bottle of 2014 Sine Qua Non "Testa dei Cherubini" Sta. Rita Hills Grenache (99JD, 98RP, 98VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "As with the extended aged Syrah release, the 2014 Grenache Testa Dei Cherubini (80% Grenache, 15.5% Syrah, and the rest Petite Sirah and Viognier) comes all from the estate Eleven Confessions Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills and spent just under 38 months in 25% new French oak, with the balance in neutral barrels (varying sizes). Layers of black raspberry, cassis, white chocolate, white flowers, and Asian spices flow to a full-bodied, supple, powerful Grenache that has silky, silky tannins, a seamless texture, no hard edges, and a finish that won’t quit. It’s already approachable, yet in my experience, this extended élevage results in a very stable wine, and I suspect this beauty will have another two decades of longevity." (10/2018)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From obviously purchased grapes, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon looks like dark pen ink, has that inimitable and compelling aromatic expression that the To Kalon Vineyard seems to offer up – graphite, blueberry, blackberry, cassis, fruitcake and spice. With incredibly rich blue fruits, black fruits, a full body, opulent, voluptuously textured and sensational, the wine still tastes like a barrel sample, but even at that, I found it nearly impossible to spit out. This is a killer effort, a magnificent wine with a potential three-digit score with a few more years of bottle age. (RP)" (12/2016)

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Aubert "Ritchie Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Chardonnay (97RP, 96VN, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The old vines certainly show well in the 2014 Chardonnay Ritchie, with an almost Alsatian-like petrol nose that is starting to come on. This wine that is full-bodied, with incredible ripeness, purity and overall equilibrium, offers up plenty of tropical fruit and citrus, white peach and pineapple. … Mark Aubert continues to set the bar incredibly high for the world-class quality of his Burgundian-styled, remarkable Chardonnays, which come from relatively cool sites spread from Rutherford in Napa Valley to the far reaches of the Sonoma Coast. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2014 Blackbird "Paramour" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 94CG, 93JD, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Another terrific example of Blackbird is the 2014 Proprietary Red Paramour, a fabulous blend of 84% Cabernet Franc, 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot. The Cabernet Franc comes from the Stagecoach Vineyard. Consultant Aaron Pott said he thinks they have a magical spot for it on that large eastern Napa Valley mountain site. This is terrific stuff from the super-intense fragrance of white flowers and forest floor to the blueberry, black raspberry and graphite notes. The wine hits the palate with dazzling fruit intensity, loads of glycerin, a round, juicy, succulent mouthfeel, a layered personality and a long, supple finish. Drink it now or over the next 15+ years. (RP)" (10/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2014 Larkmead "Firebelle" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (94RP, 94VN), 1-bottle of 2014 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 94DC, 94JS, 94VN, 92WS), and 1-bottle of 2014 Larkmead Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (95JS, 93RP, 92JD, 92VN). Of the 2014 Larkmead "LMV Salon" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate writes: "Even more prodigious is the 2014 LMV Salon. Composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc from the sandy Bale Loam soils of the 110 acres Larkmead possesses, it is a bigger boy at 14.9% alcohol but shows lots of crushed rock and wet gravel minerality, a beautiful, cedary, blackcurrant nose with notes of forest floor, allspice and soy, with more blackberry on the palate as well as some savory herbs and spice. Hints of licorice also make an appearance in this broad, fleshy, juicy and succulent style of wine meant for drinking now and over the next 20 years. (RP)" (10/2016)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Louis M. Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The bigger, richer 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Petite Sirah aged 16 months in 50% new French and American casks. This is a bigger wine and close to 2% higher in alcohol at 15.5%. There are 11, 000 cases of this big, full-bodied, boisterous Cabernet Sauvignon that has a dense ruby/purple color, notes of underbrush, forest floor, tobacco leaf and oodles of blackcurrants and black cherries, with a touch of woodsmoke. The full-bodied wine hits the palate with a cascade of glycerin, fruit and purity. This is a beauty-dense, rich, and structured, but capable of lasting 20 or more years. It is hard to believe that the iconic Louis M. Martini Winery first made Napa Cabernet Sauvignon in 1933.
