Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96JD, 95RP). Jeb Dunnuck: "Pulled from my cellar (purchased on release), the 2006 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is drinking brilliantly, and this vintage always seems to deliver. Rocking notes of kirsch, black licorice, cured meats, black olives, and garrigue all give way to a ripe, perfectly balanced, seamless effort that’s right smack dab in the middle of its prime drinking plateau. It opens up nicely with time in the glass, and while fully mature, it’s going to continue drinking great for another decade, at which point it should have a gradual decline." (03/2019)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Philip Togni Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon (95RP, 95VN, 93ST). Vinous: "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is just beginning to show the first signs of aromatic development. Graphite, incense, smoke add nuance to the inky blue and purplish-toned fruits. A wine of extreme vibrancy and freshness, the 2006 has enough energy to drink well for another two decades. This is a distinctly Old World-leaning Cabernet from Togni that still has considerable upside. (AG)" (12/2016)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Pian dell'Orino Brunello di Montalcino (97RP, 97VN). Vinous: "Pian dell’Orino’s 2006 Brunello di Montalcino was another towering wine. Though not quite as overt and powerful as the Cerbaoina, it too, was remarkably polished and sophisticated. Pian dell’Orino remains one of the most overlooked estates in Montalcino, but the wines rarely fail to deliver the goods. (AG)" (09/2013)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Pichon-Baron, Pauillac (94DC, 92RP, 92ST, 92WS, 90VN). Decanter: "Deep, rich and a little more brash than its opposite neighbour. Far from being ready, this is only just starting to soften, but colour, tannins and aromatics remain right at the starting gate. Spice is evident on the palate, as is cocoa powder and charcoal. The dark fruit runs deep with a strong grip that suggests lots of potential and a lively pH. (JA)" (06/2016)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Saxum "Bone Rock - James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah (96RP, 95ST, 94WE, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "No wimpy wine, the 2006 Bone Rock James Berry Vineyard (76% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre, and 6% Grenache) has over 16% alcohol. It possesses phenomenal texture, stunning purity, and remarkable freshness, which, again, is attributable to the limestone soils as well as the proprietor’s brilliant hands-off winemaking philosophy. A complex perfume of roasted meats, black fruits, spring flowers, charcoal, and spice is followed by a wine of enormous richness (yet it is neither overweight nor heavy). Beautiful freshness permeates the wine’s black fruit flavors and full-bodied power and length. The finish lasts for nearly a minute. (RP) 96+" (08/2009)
Starting Bid: $95.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Clos St. Martin, St-Emilion. Jancis Robinson: "That malty oak note again. Mild and easy and sweet - Derenoncourt? Reasonably bright fruit. Slightly chunky on the end." (01/2010) Wine Spectator: "Balanced and fruity, with mineral and licorice character. Medium- to full-bodied, with chewy tannins. (Web-2007) (JS)" Wine Spectator: "Balanced and fruity, with mineral and licorice character. Medium- to full-bodied, with chewy tannins. (Web-2007) (JS)"
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Colgin "IX Estate" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 97JS, 97WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The good news is that there are 1, 500 cases of this cuvée. It, too, reveals the noble sweetness of tannin, the extraordinary rich, intense mouthfeel, and sumptuous aromas of flowers, burning embers, blackberries, blueberries, spice box, and cedar. With extraordinary intensity, beautiful purity, a texture and flavors that build incrementally on the palate, and a significantly long finish, this is a perfect wine. (RP)" (12/2008)
Starting Bid: $630.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Crocker & Starr "Stone Place" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92VN). Vinous: "Good ruby-red. Lovely aromatic high notes to the aromas of dark fruits, licorice, violet, dark chocolate, leather and garrigue; pungent and Cab Franc-like. Conveys a sexy restrained sweetness nicely countered by savory soil tones. This very concentrated, fine-grained wine, the first 100% Cabernet Sauvignon vintage for this bottling, boasts juicy, nicely integrated acidity and considerable class. Finishes rocky and long, with firm, suave tannins and subtle notes of salty minerality and chocolate latte. This wine has never gone through a dip, noted Starr, and it still has a bright future.
