Bid on this magnum of 2005 Domaine de la Janasse "Chaupin" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (96RP, 96WS, 95JD, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "An awesome effort, the 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvee Chaupin comes from the cooler, northeast corner of the appellation and is 100% Grenache. Spring flowers, licorice, violets, crushed rock and layers of sweet Grenache fruit all flow to a full-bodied, clean, elegant 2005 that has everything in the right place. (JD)" (02/2015)
Starting Bid: $130.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine de la Mordorée "La Reine des Bois" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97RP, 95WS, 94ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Delorme Brother’s 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvee de la Reine des Bois has been incredibly consistent for me, and is always an upper-90s scoring wine. A big, full-bodied, structured effort, its inky purple color is followed by a terrific bouquet of ripe black fruits, toasted spice, graphite, chocolate and garrigue. Made from 80% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre and the rest 5% Vaccarèse, brought up 30% in barrels and 70% in stainless steel, it will have another 10-15 years of prime drinking. (JD)" (02/2015)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Loring "Russell Family" Paso Robles Pinot Noir (92WS, 90ST). Wine Spectator: "The initial aromas of ripe wild berry, pomegranate and huckleberry are joined by oaky scents of hazelnut and nutmeg. Intense, focused, deep and persistent on the palate, ending with a nice baseline of tannins. (JL)" (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Delas Frères "La Landonne" Côte-Rôtie (95RP, 95WS, 92ST, 92W&S, 92WE). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I tasted the 2005 Cote Rotie La Landonne earlier in the year, and it showed almost identically this go around. Still tight, structured and backwards, with the tannic bite that’s common in the vintage, it gives up lots of charcoal, graphite and meaty dark fruits as well as full-bodied richness, a big mid-palate and building tannin on the finish. It needs another 3-4 years of cellaring and will be very long lived. (JD) 95+" (03/2016)
Starting Bid: $170.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine de Cristia "Renaissance" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 93WS, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The youthful, inky colored 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Renaissance knocked it out of the park with its smoking aromatics of cassis, blueberries, espresso roast, truffle and roasted meats. These gave way to a full-bodied, rich, sexy and concentrated 2005 that has beautiful underlying structure, plenty of mid-palate flesh, and a great finish. It will still be drinking beautifully in 2025. (JD)" (09/2015)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin (90JG). John Gilman: "The Gevrey-Chambertin AC bottling is another new addition in 2005, and this too is a lovely wine. The bouquet is deep and perfumed, as it offers up a fine blend of black cherries, cocoa, a touch of grilled meat, lovely soil tones and a judicious framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is fullish, long and suave, with excellent depth and complexity, ripe tannins, tangy acids and fine length and grip. The finish closes with classic 2005 vintage notes of raw cocoa and blood orange. Lovely juice. (Drink between 2012-2030)" (11/2007)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2005 Artadi "Viñas de Gaín" Rioja (94RP, 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Vinas de Gain is produced from 100% Tempranillo with vines ranging from 40-60 years of age. The wine is aged for 12-14 months in French oak, 40% new. 2005 is a very fine vintage throughout Rioja and this entry-level wine from the superstar Bodegas Artadi is an awesome value as well as mind-boggling in quality. Purple/black in color, it offers up a killer perfume that is super-sexy. Among its elements are truffles, pencil lead, vanilla, cherry, and black raspberry jam. Full-bodied, the wine is opulent yet elegant, concentrated, and superbly balanced. ... Kudos to Bodegas Artadi for this tour de force! (NM)" (02/2007)
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Pride Mountain "Reserve" Sonoma-Napa Counties Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 94WE, 93WS, 92CG, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This full-bodied wine is very concentrated, with a saturated bluish/purple color and a classic nose of mocha and espresso intermixed with crème de cassis and charcoal. The finish is a good 40-45 seconds, and the wine has a remarkable vibrancy and freshness from the vintage’s acidity. This is terrific stuff to drink now and over the next 12-15 years. (RP) 96+" (06/2015)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine J-F Mugnier Chambolle-Musigny ((90-92RP), 91JG, 90BH, 90ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From Combe d ‘Orveaux above the Chateau de Vougeot and Plantes (a premier cru), Mugnier’s 2005 Chambolle-Musingy puts forward a lovely nose of red raspberry, cherry, high-toned citrus oils, and heady gardenia perfume. A tender, infectiously-juicy and silken-textured palate brimming with fresh red raspberries and cherries leads into a bright sweetly-fruited, subtly spicy and chalky finish that successfully pulls through the striking floral fragrances and zesty citricity. (DS)" (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $350.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2005 Clos Saint Jean Châteauneuf-du-Pape (93WS, 92RP). Wine Spectator: "Quite ripe, with almost flashy fig, currant paste and mocha notes that slowly give way to more loam, tar and coffee flavors. This really shows its density on the finish, with hints of Port reduction and licorice pushed by ample but ripe tannins. (JM)" (04/2008)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine d'Ardhuy Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Clous" (90BH). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "From 60+ year old vines. Easily the most complex nose to this point with an assortment of earth, floral, spice and ripe dark berry fruit aromas that introduce, rich, sappy and intense flavors underpinned by buried but firm structure that will permit this to improve for up to a decade. An impressive Savigny. *Outstanding* " (01/2007)
