Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2000 M. Chapoutier "Le Pavillon" Ermitage (98RP, 94WS, 93W&S, 93WE, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Year in and year out, one of the three greatest Hermitages made is Chapoutier’s Le Pavillon. The black/blue-colored 2000 Ermitage Le Pavillon is brilliant out of bottle. Notes of graphite, ink, licorice, creme de cassis, and minerals jump from the glass of this syrup of Hermitage. Full-bodied, unctuously-textured, gorgeously rich, spectacularly concentrated and long, it is a tour de force in winemaking. (RP)" (06/2003)
Starting Bid: $340.00

Bid on this bottle of 1934 Chapoutier "La Sizeranne" Hermitage . The wine company that would go on to become Chapoutier was founded in 1808. In 1897, the owner Rodolphe Delépine joined forces with Marius Chapoutier to focus on wine exports to Holland, Switzerland and Germany. Upon Rodolphe's retirement in 1922, Marius gained full ownership and renamed the company. In 1928, Marius bought the La Ciboise property (1.15 hectares) from the literary figure Robert Monier de la Sizeranne, and proceeded to build a new winery at the foot of Hermitage hill the following year. Don't miss this chance to own a piece of Hermitage history, one of the last vintages under the leadership of Marius Chapoutier before he passed away in 1937.
