Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2003 vintage was the first vintage ever where they started harvest in August, and this sweltering hot year yielded erratic, yet sometimes brilliant wines. The 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape is a full-on success and has lots of sweet kirsch, roasted herbs, licorice and Provencal garrigue as well as full-bodied richness, impressive concentration, and sweet tannin (tannin ripeness was the true difficulty in the vintage). Jeb Dunnuck: "Pulled from my cellar (purchased on release), the 2006 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is drinking brilliantly, and this vintage always seems to deliver. Rocking notes of kirsch, black licorice, cured meats, black olives, and garrigue all give way to a ripe, perfectly balanced, seamless effort that’s right smack dab in the middle of its prime drinking plateau. It opens up nicely with time in the glass, and while fully mature, it’s going to continue drinking great for another decade, at which point it should have a gradual decline." (03/2019)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Grand Veneur "Les Origines" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (95RP, 93WS, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While the Vieilles Vignes bottling wasn’t made until 2006, the 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape Les Origines goes all the way back to 1998. The 2005 checks in as a blend of 55% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah that saw 16 months in 55% concrete tank and 45% in smaller barrels. It’s a ripe, full-throttle effort that gives up lots of roasted herbs, pan drippings, black licorice and darker fruits on the nose. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied, blockbuster styled effort that has beautiful purity, lots of texture and a sexy, hard-to-resist style. It freshens up in the glass, and while drinking nicely now, will have no problems evolving gracefully for another decade. (JD)" (02/2015)

Of the 2000 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Decanter writes: "Clos des Papes is one of the greatest estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape – indeed the whole of France – with roots going as far back as 1600. With this in mind, the wines remain remarkably good value. They are the model of Châteauneuf balance and finesse, and that gives them the ability to develop beautifully in bottle for decades. At 20 years of age, this 2000 is at a perfect stage of drinkability – it has taken on complexity but hasn’t yet lost any succulence. Great brightness of tannin and acidity, still fresh. A great vintage? Not in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, no. But is this a delicious, fully mature and balanced wine to drink now? Absolutely. (MW)" (04/2021)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A candidate for perfection, the 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Imperiale Vignes Centenaire is clearly the greatest wine I have ever tasted from Raymond Usseglio, even eclipsing their remarkable 2007. Don’t be surprised if it merits a three-digit score in five or six years. Somewhat closed, but bursting with potential, the wine is inky/purple to the rim and boasts abundant amounts of concentrated, jammy blackberry, kirsch, licorice, lavender, forest floor, white chocolate and a hint of truffles in its magnificent perfume. Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe "La Crau" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (96RP, 95JD, 95WS, 93ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Vieux Télégraphe may be the greatest wine made at this property since the 2005 and 1998. Dense ruby/purple-tinged with an exquisite nose of salty sea breezes, licorice, ground pepper, jammy black cherries, black currants, figs, and plums, this is a full-bodied, rich, Provencal-styled offering with lots of sweet, ripe tannin. It is surprisingly accessible for a Vieux Telegraphe (this wine normally shuts down several years after bottling), but it should have great longevity (25+ years) given its power, full-bodied mouthfeel, and enormous length and richness. This is a brilliant effort from brothers Frederic and Daniel Brunier. (RP) 96+" (10/2009)

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine I’ve been lucky enough to have numerous times recently, the 2003 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee de La Reine des Bois is gorgeous. Quite possibly the wine of the vintage, it shows thrilling levels of blackberry, licorice, toasted bread, and garrigue to go with a full-bodied, massive, yet layered and seamless feel on the palate. There’s none of the rusticity or coarse tannin that’s common in the vintage, and it possesses beautiful purity, sweetness of fruit and length. (JD)" (08/2014)

Bid on this 2-magnum lot of 2015 Domaine du Pégau Cuvée Réservée Châteauneuf-du-Pape (1.5L) (96JD, 96RP, 96WE, (93-95VN), 94WS, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: Now that it has been in bottle a while, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee is looking even better than I projected based on last year's prebottling sample. It's all violets, cherries, subtle allspice and clove and traditional garrigue notes of lavender and thyme. Full-bodied and rich, it's crazy complex, adding hints of tar and black olives on the long, silky finish. (JC) (08/2018)

Jeb Dunnuck: "Absolutely firing on all cylinders and with an open, borderline slutty profile, the 2000 Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a dream on the nose, showing complex, meaty aromas of black truffle, spice rack, charcuterie, and garrigue. There’s fantastic intensity here and you can smell this wine as soon as the bottle is opened. Just as good on the palate, the wine sports a medium to full-bodied, ripe profile, perfect balance, and a dazzling finish that has you looking for another glass. I’m a fan and while this will no doubt continue to shine, don’t hesitate to pop bottles now." (09/2011)

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2017 Domaine Pierre Usseglio "Cuvée Mon Aïeul" Châteauneuf-du-Pape (97JD, (94-95VN), 94RP, 93JS). Jeb Dunnuck: "As always, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée De Mon Aïeul is all Grenache (from La Serres, La Crau, and La Guigasse) that was not destemmed and was brought up all in used demi-muids. It's an extraordinary wine, offering a mammoth bouquet of kirsch liqueur, black raspberries, ground pepper, white flowers, and spice. Full-bodied, concentrated, and opulent on the palate, with silky tannins, it's not going to match the 2010 or 2016, but it’s a magical, elegant, layered wine that does everything right." (08/2019)

Bid on this bottle of 2014 Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape ((92-94VN), 92W&S, (89-91RP), 91WS). Vinous: "Brilliant ruby-red. Smoke-accented aromas of red and dark berry preserves, star anise and candied flowers convey a subtle hint of garrigue in the background. Sweet, seamless and broad on the palate, offering concentrated black raspberry and rose pastille flavors that turn spicier with air. Rich but vibrant as well, with no excess fat. Supple tannins build steadily on a very long, incisive finish that leaves behind notes of dark berries and candied flowers. (JR)" (04/2016)
