Bid on this 4-magnum lot of 2004 Pride Mountain Sonoma County Cabernet Franc (1.5L) (93WE, 92WS, 91W&S, 90ST). Wine Enthusiast: This is a fun wine, easy to like. It’s also a serious wine. That’s a hard juggling act, but Pride pulls it off so well. Shows the lighter side of the Cabernet family, with a silky, almost delicate body framing cherry and oak flavors. Yet there’s tremendous depth, and the exquisite tension between fruit, acidity, tannins and wood is as intricate as a Cirque du Soleil trapeze act. (03/2007)
Starting Bid: $320.01

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2014 Steven Kent Livermore Valley Cabernet Franc. The soils and climate of the Livermore Valley are shockingly similar to those of Bordeaux and Steven Kent Mirassou Jr. has made it his mission to prove that the wines of Livermore Valley can be just as good. Producer notes from the blog of Steve Heimoff: "Before I left the employ of Wine Enthusiast, there was one Livermore winery that turned me on, Steven Kent. He showed me what Livermore was capable of—why it had achieved its historic reputation for Bordeaux-style red wines in the first place." (06/2016)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2002 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Franc. This is a rare Cabernet Franc from the famed Monte Bello Vineyard, usually home to a Bordeaux blend and of the flagship wine of Ridge. According to the winery: "Monte Bello is first and foremost a wine of place. That place - high atop the Santa Cruz Mountains underlain by decomposing limestone and Franciscan rock - produces a wine unlike any other. It is our belief that this vineyard with its very low-yielding vines (less than two tons per acre) is capable of creating a wine of great significance, depth, complexity and aging potential - but only if we take care in sustaining it. "
