Bid on this bottle of 2005 Nicolas Potel Chambertin Grand Cru ((97-98RP), (94-97ST), (92-95BH)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Here is a 2005 Chambertin that rivals the rose petals of Clos de Beze, along with licorice, a ripeness of red fruit, a suggestion of peach jam, and a pungency of cinnamon that turns tactile on the palate. A chocolate richness and liqueur-like fruit intensity in the mouth never lose sight of the rose petals, nor cover up the chalk, wet stone and roasted meat that underlie a sumptuous, sultry finish. 'Round, ' 'rich' and 'resonant' gain new meaning with this stunningly opulent Pinot. (DS)" (06/2007)
Starting Bid: $295.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Bernard Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin "Coeur de Roy" Très Vieilles Vignes (92BH, (91-92RP), 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From largely 50-year-old (but some ancient) vines in parcels north of town, below Mazis, and along the route nationale, the 2005 Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur du Roi offers striking bitter black fruit concentration and marrow-like meatiness. Low-toned cassis, blackberry, black chocolate, marrow and wet stone inform a finish of striking purity and persistence, albeit in a rather somber key and wearing its extract, abundant if fine tannins, and new wood in rather obvious fashion. The rather monolithic impression on this occasion might ultimately prove deceptive. Certainly this wine’s sheer raw intensity suggests a decade or more of cellaring is warranted. (DS)" (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $140.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Evocelles" ((92-93RP), (90-92BH), (89-91ST)). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "This smells of ripe but bitter-sweet black cherry, wood smoke, and overt chalk and saline minerality. Coming onto the palate with superb fruit intensity, glycerine richness, and silkiness of texture, it finishes with the clarity, purity, refinement and freshness of fruit as well as the multiplicity of mineral shadings (salt, chalk, wet stone, iodine...?) that one anticipates from a great Riesling. (DS)" (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $160.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Bernard Dugat-Py Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (95BH, 95RP, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru from Dugat-Py is—as usual—the most generous and fruit-driven of the domaine's grand crus today, offering up an extravagant bouquet of dried rose petal, violets, sweet black cherry and subtle bass notes of grilled meat and espresso. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and expansive, its chassis of silky tannins entirely concealed by layer after layer of succulent fruit and its finish long and lingering. As the French would say, "une gourmandise." (WK)" (01/2018)
Starting Bid: $375.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Camille Giroud Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru ((90-93BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A background touch of wood frames the pretty red berry fruit aromas nuanced by hints of earth, spice and underbrush that continue onto the rich, full, intense and attractively textured flavors that are delicious though the very firm finish is slightly on the dry side. Whether this will round off with time in bottle is not clear though the underlying material seems to be solid enough as does the ripeness of the structural elements." (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Pierre Damoy Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (95BH, 95WS, 93ST). Wine Spectator: "A red that saturates the palate with its black cherry, plum, cassis and mineral flavors. Velvety and lush, with dense, finely woven tannins and vibrant acidity for support. The flavors just won't quit on the lingering aftertaste. (BS)" (05/2008)
Starting Bid: $290.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine J. Roty Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (96JG, (94-96RP), 94ST, 93BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2005 Griottes Chambertin required a bit of a shaking to rouse it from its reduction, but it blossomed to display intense aromas of licorice, black pepper, and diverse dark berries. Saturating the palate with rich, ripe yet fresh cherry and black raspberry, it displays exceedingly fine-grained tannins and a tactile spice, chalk, and black pepper finishing intensity. (DS)" (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 2005 Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Très Vieilles Vignes ((97-98RP), 95BH, 95ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From vines said to have been planted in the 1880s, the Roty 2005 Charmes Chambertin Tres Vieilles Vignes announces its distinction a foot away from the glass, with uncanny intensity and clarity of black fruit essences, along with ineffable mineral and animal suggestions. Tactile cinnamon spiciness, bitter-sweet herbs, and black cherry and black raspberry concentrate (fresh, yet with liqueur-like intensity, sweetness and viscosity) saturate the palate, and a dark and rising tide of mineral and carnal flavors meets the fruit and spice in a thunderous finish. There is mystery aplenty here, with the sex appeal well beneath the surface. (DS)" (04/2007)
Starting Bid: $405.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Humbert Frères Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (94ST). Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Bright ruby-red. Captivating perfume of black fruits, rose petal, violet, crushed rocks and earth. Densely packed and powerful, with terrific energy and finesse to the sweet flavors of blueberry, blackberry, cherry, licorice and minerals. Boasts outstanding grand cru volume and density and yet the lingering impression on the aftertaste is one of energy and refinement. This should enjoy a long and glorious evolution in bottle. (ST) 94+" (03/2008)
