Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2011 Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Le Serre Nuove" Bolgheri (94RP, 94VN, 93JS, 90ST, 90WE). Vinous: "The 2011 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia comes across as tight and shut down today. There is plenty of depth in the glass, but less of the appeal I saw just a few months ago. The high tannins of the vintage and the relatively large amount of Petit Verdot (14%) are both very marked at this stage in the wine's life. Readers holding the 2011 are best off cellaring their bottles for at least another 1-2 years. The 2011 Le Serre Nuove is a powerhouse. (AG)" (09/2014)
Starting Bid: $180.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 Castello Dei Rampolla "Sammarco" Toscana (96VN, 93JS, 92W&S). Vinous: "A dark, immediate wine, the 2009 Sammarco hits the palate with waves of generous dark fruit. Black cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco and incense flesh out in a succulent Sammarco that won't require decades to give its best. This is an unusually open, resonant Sammarco. (AG)" (10/2015)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Elio Altare "Cerretta Vigna Bricco" Barolo (96WS, 92VN). Wine Spectator: "Fresh and aromatic, this red is packed with sweet cherry, leather, clove and iron flavors. Fused to a bed of stiff, mouthcoating tannins, with a long aftertaste of sweet spice and mineral. Still a baby, but well-balanced and beginning to develop. (BS)" (03/2013)
Starting Bid: $270.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Tenuta Sette Ponti "Oreno" Toscana (97JS, 93RP, 93VN, 93WS). James Suckling: "Fabulous aromas of blackberries, orange peel, raspberries and citrus. Violets too. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and a light, dusty texture. It's so fine and beautiful, racy and refined. Very structured indeed but also soulful and very, very inspiring. There's a new refinement to this wine as the winemakers search for a truly beautiful expression of the terroir. Better in 2017 but a joy to taste now." (11/2014)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2010 Nino Negri Sfursat Carlo Negri. Nino Negri is one of the largest grape growing estates in Lombardy farming Nebbiolo, here called Chiavennasca. Sfursat is one of their specialties; made similar to Amarone, the grapes are dried for 100 days before being vinified. Big and bold, it displays the elegance Nebbiolo is known for.
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 2-bottle tasting lot; including 1-bottle of 2010 Argiano Brunello di Montalcino (98JS, 95IWR, 95RP, 94VN, 93WS, 92WE, 91W&S) and 1-bottle of 2010 La Gerla Brunello di Montalcino (95VN, 94JS, 94RP, 94WS). Of the 2010 Argiano Brunello di Montalcino, James Suckling writes: "An unforgiving and powerfully structured wine with fabulous grilled meat and granite stone character with dried berry and flower petal. Full body, chewy and intense. Great structure and extremely long and intense. Sexy austerity. Gets the juices going. Best ever from here. Reminds me of the great Argianos of the 1970s but now! " (12/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2009 San Giusto a Rentennano "Percarlo" Toscana (95RP, 95ST, 92WS, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: " A pure expression of Sangiovese, the delicious 2009 Percarlo shows warm tones of leather, pipe tobacco, wet earth, dried cherry and red rose petal. Aged 22 months in French oak, there’s enormous heft and determination at the back that does a great job holding up and matching the stunning intensity of the bouquet. Tight tannins, fresh acidity and a touch of sweet cherry characterize the mouthfeel. It’s impeccably balanced with ample length, but give it five to ten more years to evolve. Anticipated maturity: 2018-2035. (ML)" (08/2013)
Starting Bid: $130.00
