Nationality doesn't apply—if it's a true rarity and the whiskey is great, it can be bottled. You know the palates making these choices are good, since it's brought to you by the folks at Preservation Distillery in Bardstown, the same people responsible for bottling Very Olde St. Nick and Wattie Boone. 93 points Wine Enthusiast: "A honey hue and rich vanilla aroma mark this six-year-old rye whiskey. The palate nods to its 100% rye grain mash bill, opening with brisk cinnamon and allspice sparks that round into mellower vanilla and caramel midpalate, finishing long and spiced. Adding water brings more vanilla to the fore and adds a toasted grain note to the finish. *Top 100 Spirits of 2019* (KN)" (09/2019) Whisky Advocate: "A lively nose with scents of orange peel, wild strawberries, pepper spice, and herbal tea. The palate presents a balanced offerin...

95 points Whisky Advocate: "The third in the Chronicles series offers a slightly closed nose that soon shows high esters, cinnamon, and eggnog, while hints of mint hide among old dry barn boards in a gorgeous, creamy palate. Mild caramels fade into peppery heat, restrained grassy herbs, and pulling tannins. Burley tobacco leaves replace Canadian Club’s signature dark fruits. Finishes long, hot, and vaguely dry. (DK, Winter 2020)" K&L Notes: Canadian Club's newest release makes it the oldest Canadian whiskey available on the market. Don't miss "The Speak...

BCS Gray Label bottlings have racked up many awards and the 24 year old Canadian is sure to be no different. It began with 2 whiskies, one super fruity, one with a dominating wood and floral profile. The part of the fruity distillate was transferred into Oloroso Sherry and a part of the floral/woody profile into Armagnac casks. The remaining portions were blended to marry. When all 3 component were at their peak, Barrell brought them all together into the glory that is Gray Label.

Wiser's is certainly in the compay of) offer some of the best bang for your buck in the whisky world. The 18 year is sumptous and full of rich cocoa, vanilla and cream combined with stone fruits, pencil shavings, and honey. It's dangerously easy to drink and incredibly easy on the pocket book.

Obtainium 27 Year Old Canadian Whiskey (750ml) (Previously $200) (Previously $200)
Top Pick!
This is a classic Canadian blend of mostly light whisky, with 3% traditional rye and 2% traditional corn. The three whiskies were distilled at what is now known as the Black Velvet Distillery (formerly the Palliser Distillery) in Southern Alberta before being blended and aged in oak barrels for 27 years before being cut from 156 proof to a slightly more manageable 141. Rich and complex, the light whiskies don't have the body or complexity of a straight bourbon or rye until they start to get serious age. This is the oldest we've ever seen. It's somewhat a...

The world of single malt is ever expanding. Some players come and go quickly, but we expect Shelter Point will be here to stay. They've taken a hyper local approach to production, and it turns out that British Columbia is well suited to single malt production. 100% British Columbia grown two-row barley, very traditional looking pot stills, and a slow double distillation lead to excellent malt whiskey. Add to that the very coastal aging on the northern end of Vancouver Island and you've got a superb sense of place to boot.
