93 points James Suckling: "Notes of blue plums and blueberries with hints of savory herbs, violets and wet stones. A crunchy and savory palate with juicy, finely polished tannins and chalky blue fruit character. Pretty and attractive with a mineral finish." (02/2023) 93 points Wine Advocate: "The 2020 Malbec Reserve was produced from vines on limestone soils in Gualtallary (80%) and Altamira (20%) with concentration and elegance. It has 13.8% alcohol and keeps very good freshness and balance. It fermented with natural yeasts, and 75% of the volume matu...

95 points Vinous: "The 2020 Sémillon El Enemigo from Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo hails from a 70-year-old vineyard. Aged with flor for a year before 15 months in barrels, it’s a golden yellow in the glass. On the nose there are notes of flint, honey, a little hazelnut and cashew nut underneath the flor-based aromas of white flowers and pear. In the mouth, however, it’s broad with a good, voluminous flow and a clove backdrop. Intense and creamy with a sustained layer of salinity, the stylistic acrobatics have opened up new possibilities for the varietal. (JH) "...

96 points James Suckling: "Floral and buoyant nose with fresh red berries, roses and mineral. Really bright and energetic on the palate with beautiful tension and juiciness. Subtle, sappy and layered. The mineral spike extends to a simply delicious finish. Drink now." (02/2023) K&L Notes: Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, the grandson of Sassicaia founder Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, ended up in Patagonia after tasting a bottle of Pinot Noir. He fell in love with the wine, and wanted to see the old vines that produced it. This wine comes from 60-year-old,...

Alma 4 started as a tiny project of four friends at viticulture school. Over the last 20 years that tiny “school project” has grown into one of the more sought-after boutique sparkling wine producers of South America. This is 100% Chardonnay sourced from high elevation, cool climate sites in the Uco and Tupungato valleys. The soils of the vineyards are a mix of calcareous stones, gravel and sands. 20% of the wine was fermented in 500L oak barrels and Malolactic fermentation was suppressed. It is made in the traditional method, spending 30 months on lees....

93 points James Suckling: "Blackberries, blackcurrants, mocha, cedar and cola on the nose. Medium-to full-bodied with firm tannins. Structured, with dark, chewy fruit on the mid-palate. Rich, smoky and flavorful finish. Malbec, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot." (02/2022) 93 points Wine Advocate: "The red blend 2020 Unus was produced with 65% Malbec, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot from different locations in Mendoza, fermented in small stainless steel tanks followed by malolactic in barrel and 16 months in French barrique. This has the ...

95 points Descorchados : "Like Agrelo's ripe and expansive character, this blend is 43% cabernet sauvignon, 26% malbec, 17% cabernet franc, and the rest is petit verdot. The fruit is black, and the texture is ample, with the fat and silky tannins that are very typical of the zone's clay soils. This voluptuousness, however, is very nicely nuanced by the acidity that’s firm and juicy here and persistent until the end." (01/2021) 95 points James Suckling: "Racy and layered with black and red fruit, black chocolate, black olives, blueberries and a mineral ...

98 points Tim Atkin: "It’s always tricky to choose a winner between this wine and Propósitos - both are world-class whites - but I just prefer Certezas in 2019. Sourced from a 130-year-old parcel in El Peral, it has aromas of beeswax and aniseed, subtle skin tannins, savoury intensity and layers of black tea, waxed lemon and orange zest. stunning stuff from a brilliant winemaking duo." 96 points Wine Advocate: "96+ points "The white 2019 Certezas was produced with Sémillon from a plot of old vines from Finca Manoni in El Peral (Tupungato). Like the re...

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2019 Catena Alta "Historic Rows" Chardonnay Mendoza. Luis Gutierrez of Wine Advocate writes: "Catena is one of the quality leaders in Argentina and it's also a large winery, so they combine quality and quantity. Furthermore, they are one of the pioneers: They were the first to plant vineyards in Gualtallary, which is nowadays considered one of the highest potential zones in the country, but they were deemed crazy when they planted there. The wines are phenomenal, true to their place and vintage."
