Sourced from top vineyards across Napa Valley including their own incredible vineyard right next door to the famed Château Montelena Estate in Calistoga. On the palate the wine is bright and full, with rich flavors of bright cherry and berry. The tannins are velvety and smooth, and it has a fruit driven...

100 points Jane Anson: "Unmistakable Latour in an exceptional vintage, so you should expect a muscular, sculpted and confident wine that is bursting with Pauillac character, showcasing the brilliance of this clay-gravel location overlooking the Gironde Estuary. Still just emerging from its primary stage but just about ready to drink if you give it long enough in a carafe - although it will be even better with another decade. Think blackberry, bilberry, cassis, charcoal, slate, sage, incense, cigar box, grilled cumin and a ton of black chocolate shavings....

For decades now, our Kalinda private label has been providing K&L customers with awesome wines at a fraction of what they'd normally pay under the producers' mainstay labels. Naturally, no producer wants their wines on the market for less than what they'd usually sell for, so the trade-off is anonymity. This is a superb Cabernet-very elegant and user friendly already. Lots of sweet cassis and red fruit aromas that follow to the palate. No hard edges here-drink it young with a prime rib or steak dinner. Will cellar well for five plus years. clyde

100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "A consistently perfect wine every time I've had it, the 2009 Château Pontet-Canet is the greatest wine from this address to date as well as one of the greatest Pauillacs out there. Still youthfully ruby/purple and with a gorgeous perfume of blackcurrants, lead pencil, graphite, crushed rocks, and damp earth, it's still youthful but is just now starting to show more nuance and complexity. Full-bodied on the palate, with a powerful, concentrated mid-palate, incredible depth of fruit, and flawless balance, Bordeaux simply does not g...

90 points Wine Spectator: "Dark in color, with lots of blackberry, mineral, licorice and a hint of toasty oak. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long, caressing finish. Balanced and generous, with lots of fruit underneath. (JS)" (03/2008) Decanter: "Lifted cassis and hedgerow fruits. Harmonious balance between ripe, dark fruit, integrated oak, and chewy tannins. Attractive. " (06/2008) Wine Advocate: "A consistently well-made cru bourgeois, this wine exhibits a deep ruby color and a nice, earthy nose with hints of burning embers intermixed with...

Château Bois-Malot is located in St-Loubes and situated on the shoreline of the Dordogne River. The soils are clay and light limestone with a subsoil of red pebbles and clay. The wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and is aged for 18 months in tanks, followed by six months in barrels. If you like framboise you will adore this wine — 2015 was a huge success for this property. As in most years, this wine tastes and smells of raspberries and earth, but with a gentle middle and a soft finish due to the extraordinary v...

Boutique winery Vinoce continues to impress. Little surprise when you consider their wines are made by much-heralded winemaker Keith Emerson of Vineyard 29! Emerson crafts some of the most highly sought-after cult Cabs in the valley from St. Helena fruit at Vineyard 29, including wines rated at 100-points by Robert Parker himself. Considering that pedigree, Vinoce's St. Helena Cab is very well priced at the regular $60 SRP, but at our Insider's Advantage price of over 50% off, it's just plain ridiculous.

This is a classic aged Bordeaux from a small estate in the Médoc. It's beginning to show a lovely panoply of spicy, mature aromatics and flavors.
92-93 points James Suckling: "This is a wine that shows lots of chocolate, tobacco and currants. Full body, with velvety tannins and a long finish. All there." (04/2011) 93 points Wine Advocate: "The Haut-Bergey 2010 has a very concentrated bouquet with dense blackberry, briary, crushed stone and tobacco on the nose that unfolds in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins on the entry. There is a lot of extraction here, but it is in tune with the acidity and the structured finish has plenty of vibrant red fruit and energy to see it thr...

" (07/2014) Wine Spectator: "Taut and racy, with a delicious beam of linzer torte, dried black currant and roasted fig flavors, all laced with tobacco leaf and espresso notes. The solid, racy finish shows nice length and cut. After working as the vineyard manager for Newton Vineyards for over 30 years, Lupe Maldonado bought a 10-acre piece of land in the cool southern tip of Napa (in Jamieson Canyon), and planted vineyards in the dark, gravelly clay soil. He brought in Jean Hoefliger from Newton as his consulting winemaker.
93 points James Halliday: "We all know the many accolades this wine has attracted in the past. Interestingly, the fruit is sourced from Margaret River but it's made at Yalumba in SA. The South Australian penchant for American oak (rare in WA) shows, lending the wine a plush bed of texture. The succulent fruit is sensational, thanks to the brilliant 2020 vintage, making for yet another satisfying and value-for-money release from Ringbolt. (EL) *Silver*" (09/2022) 93 points James Suckling: "This is very floral, with lots of violets, together with such at...
100 points Decanter: "The best 2020s seem to be confident without showing off or shouting too loudly and this Carmes does just that. Focused and precise, this is complex and characterful, rich yet vibrant with a texture and taste that makes an impact straight away. Fresh black fruits, floral notes and sensational minerality do the talking - it has weight, density and structure - broad and bold yet svelte, it has direction and persistence, building quickly then settling and elongating with such clarity and purity. This is a wine you want to drink. Cool, c...

96 points Vinous: "The 2019 Gloria has a compelling nose: black fruit, crushed rocks, tobacco and very subtle marine scents that are all beautifully combined. Perhaps the most precise and delineated nose among an impressive array of Saint-Julien's this year. The palate is medium-bodied with a lively opening. A touch of soy infuses the black fruit; fine-boned with wonderful sapidity on the finish. Extraordinary length. Serious. 93 points The Wine Independent: "The NV Cabernet Sauvignon Quixotic is a blend of 79% 2019 vintage from Hunnicutt and 21% 2020 vintage from a vineyard in St Helena. Deep garnet-purple in color, it rolls out of the glass with notes of warm cassis, Morello cherries, and plum preserves, plus hints of unsmoked cigars, spice cake, and dried roses with a waft of mossy tree bark. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft and juicy, with bags of fragrant fruit and a lively finish. (LPB)" (04/2023)
James Suckling: " Bright and delicious with redcurrant and berry aromas and flavors. Light and crisp. Drink now." (12/2022) Vinous: "The 2020 Fleur Haut Gaussens is missing a little freshness on the nose and shows a little sur-maturité. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, herbaceous on the entry, moderate depth with a light saline finish. (NM)" (12/2022) Wine Enthusiast: "This is a balanced wine. Its tannins are still firm although with plenty of black-plum fruits and acidity. A solid wine, this will develop slowly but surely. (RV)" (12/...

93 points Vinous: "The 2018 Red Wine is a total pleasure on the nose, leading off with a burst of crushed blueberries, peppery herbs and rosy florals. This soothes with its soft, pliant textures, as a contrasting blend of saline minerals and ripe wild berry fruits swirls throughout. The 2018 keeps the energy high. The mouth waters for more as violet inner florals and hints of licorice fade. This is almost too easy to like. It’s beautifully balanced. 96 points Wine Enthusiast: "An inviting floral note in the aroma leads to beautiful cherry and berry flavors and an agreeable, moderately tannic texture in this full-bodied but approachable wine. It shows more complexity with each sip, and ends with a lingering finish. Best from 2026-2036." K&L Notes: The wines of Beau Vigne are now crafted cult winemaker Julien Fayard. Intense notes of Morello cherries, creme de cassis, and plum preserves spill from the glass, plus touches of mint tea, iron ore, and dried roses. The medium-bodied palate is taut with muscular black fruits and fantastic tension, framed by firm, grainy tannins, finishing long and fragrant. Simply beautiful! (04/2017) 94 points Wine Enthusiast: "Situated in one of the northern sectors of Margaux, this estate was created in the 13th century. This sumptuous wine has enormous power that is mitigated by the taut, mineral texture and black-currant flavors. It is a finely wrought wine that will take time to age. *Cellar Selection* (RV)" (05/2019) 91 points Decanter: "Here we are stepping up a gear for this estate, with careful but not shy fruit extraction...

(01/2020) 95 points Vinous: "The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Au Paradis, from Peter Michael's parcel in the hills of Eastern Oakville, is one of the successes of this trying vintage. There is structure of course from the firm tannins that stay in the background, while the main thrust of this wine is its great blackberry fruit. It will age and should be drunk from 2025. The La Cappuccina "Madego" Rosso Veneto is a certified organic red blend from the Veneto region, composed of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Carmenère. This wine is known for its soft tannins and approachable style, offering aromas of ripe red fruit, plum, and spice.
94 points John Gilman: "The 1983 Cantemerle is a superb wine that has been rightly lauded since its initial release way back in 1985. I have had the pleasure to drink this vintage of Cantemerle with frequency over the years, and it has only gotten better and better as it has had a chance to blossom with bottle age, and it is probably now just starting its plateau of peak drinkability. This most recent bottle was utterly classic and even better than the bottle I reported on a while back on my feature on the 1983 vintage, as it wafts from the glass in a fi...

It's very opulent, a great full-fruited wine. (RV)" (06/2006) 92 points Wine & Spirits: "A gravel wash of tannin creates the structural base for this wine, spreading red currant and licorice root flavors through a long finish. The fruit is bold and supple, the mineral flavor providing tension that will sustain the wine as it ages over the next decade. For braised lamb." (10/2008) 90 points W...

Needs more fruit concentration in the middle, yet it’s fresh and flavorful." (05/2024) K&L Notes: 93 points, Tasting Panel: "Blended with 14% Merlot and aged 18 months in (50% new) French oak, the newly released 2021 vintage is a teeth-grabber. Dusty cocoa tannins display an affinity with cedar, wet stone, blackberry, dried violets, and beetroot. Still in its youth, the wine show...

Wine Advocate: "A decent effort in this tough vintage for some of the Médoc wines, Lanessan’s 2012 has some nice suppleness to the tannin, cranberry and black cherry fruit, plum and blackcurrants. It is medium-bodied with earth, herbs and spice. Drink it over the next decade. (RP)" (04/2015) K&L Notes: * A very fruity and tasty style. Another great value from what Robert Parker calls a "consistent property that turns out wines that are often very close to classified-growth quality."

96-100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2023 Château Margaux is clearly one of the greats in the vintage, and it actually reminds me a touch of the 1996, if not better. Revealing a deep purple hue, it has an incredible bouquet of cassis and blue fruits interwoven with classic Margaux floral, sandalwood, spice, and graphite aromatics. It's hard to find a wine in 2023 that has this much density and depth, with sweet tannins and so much charm. The blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, all of which will see 20 mont...

(02/2019) 97 points Wine Advocate: "A brilliant young wine, the 2016 Léoville Barton unwinds in the glass with aromas of cassis, dark berries and cigar box mingled with subtle hints of loamy soil. Based on 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, brought up in 75% new French oak, its dense purple hue is followed by an incredible bouquet of pure crème de cassis, freshly sharpened cedar pencil, spring flowers, smoke, and graphite, with an almost liqueur of rocks-like minerality. 94 points Vinous: "A host of Cabernet Sauvignon-infused aromas make a strong opening statement in the 1978 Pichon Lalande. There is certainly no shortage of power or character. If anything, the 1978 is perhaps a bit lacking in mid-palate depth, which gives it an element of austerity. Aside from that small critique, the 1978 is deeply expressive and gorgeous. Located in northwestern Pomerol, just 35 kilometers east of Bordeaux, the 47.5 vineyard hectares of Château de Sales make up the largest estate in the Pomerol appellation and have been owned by the same family for more than 500 years. The wine is matured for 21 months in 50% new French oak.

Wine Advocate: "This is a very attractive Leoville-Barton that seems to be developing at a more accelerated pace than I had initially expected. A lovely, rather full, big bouquet of smoky, berryish, ripe fruit is first class. On the palate, the wine shows a good cedary, spicy, deep fruity constitution, moderate tannins, and a long finish. It fermented at a controlled temperature, never exceeding 24 degrees Celsius, with soft pumping over and matured in French barriques for 24 months. This has remarkable freshness and harmony.
