Bid on this bottle of 2002 Bond "St. Eden" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 96WE, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 St. Eden, which comes from a valley floor vineyard in the Oakville corridor, is unreal. I had given the 2001 a perfect score, but the 2002 (made by the brain trust of on-site winemaker Bob Levy and outside French consultant Michel Rolland) is showing incredible elements of cedarwood, licorice, chocolate and creme de cassis as well as exquisite texture, full-bodied intensity, and unbelievable purity and length. It is only the second vintage for this vineyard, leased by Bill Harlan for several decades, and it has turned out to be a killer Cabernet Sauvignon and a great classic of Napa. (RP)" (06/2012)
Starting Bid: $465.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Bond "Melbury" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100RP, 95WE, 94VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Melbury, which comes from a hillside vineyard site near Lake Hennessey, is showing even better than it did in its youth. Probably years away from full maturity, the wine has an extraordinary aromatic profile of smoky meats intermixed with blackberry, creme de cassis, charcoal, lead pencil shavings and espresso. Dense, opulent and full-bodied, with terrific fruit, this is a showcase style of vintage for a wine of such great ripeness and massive intensity. This extraordinary effort displays oodles of glycerin and fabulous purity, while the oak has been completely absorbed. The cooler hillside climate of blue fruits and spring flowers is also present as the wine aerates in the glass. This wine has at least another 15-30 years of potential ahead of it. (RP)" (06/2012)
Starting Bid: $770.00

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Kathryn Kennedy Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon. Vinous: "Dark, bright red. Deep, smoky aromas of dark fruits, licorice, and leather, with a whiff of meaty reduction. Suave in texture, with a restrained sweetness to the redcurrant and cherry pit flavors. Smooth and fine-grained in texture but distinctly dry and a bit youthfully unforthcoming today. The wine's growing sweetness with aeration and lush palate feel suggest that it may reward aging. (ST)" (09/2006)
Starting Bid: $85.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Plumpjack "Reserve" Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "One of the most backward wines of the tasting, the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve exhibits stunning richness as well as copious notes of flowers, lead pencil shavings, white chocolate, blackberries, blueberries and cassis. This huge, pure, rich Cabernet Sauvignon possesses good acidity, a stunning texture, copious but sweet tannins, and a long finish. It needs another decade to reach full maturity, and should be a 50-year wine when all the dust settles. Bravo! (RP) 96+" (07/2012)
Starting Bid: $280.00

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Abreu "Madrona Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100JD, 100RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2002 Madrona Ranch possesses an opaque blue/purple color as well as an extraordinary, enveloping, massive aromatic profile consisting of spring flowers, charcoal, lead pencil shavings, blueberries, raspberries and blackberry liqueur. In the mouth, there is sensational texture, full-bodied intensity, and terrific freshness, precision and vibrancy, despite what is undeniably a massive, rich, intense wine that should age well for another 25-35 years. The 2001s were about as profound as I have ever tasted from Abreu, but the 2002s may be even sexier since they are slightly more evolved. (RP)" (06/2012)
Starting Bid: $450.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2002 Shafer "Hillside Select" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 97WE, 97WS, 96ST, 95W&S, 94DC, 94VN, 93CG). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "In contrast to the more linear, structured, but massive 2001, the 2002 Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is pure fruit-bomb material, but stunningly proportioned, beautifully pure, with notes of melted chocolate, blackcurrant jam, sweet black cherries, licorice, camphor and charcoal. Very full-bodied, like the 2001, but much more lavishly fruited, it is more accessible and hedonistically, as well as intellectually, satisfying. If the 2001 is the long-distance runner, this comes across more like a middle-distancer. It had performed fabulously well since it was released by the winery, and even though it’s still an adolescent in terms of its evolution, this wine is a head-turner in wine tastings, and a spectacular effort from Napa. (RP)" (12/2014)
