This incredible blanc de noir hails from the Courtois estate in Crouttes-sur-Marne, the far west of the Champagne region. It is composed of equal parts Pinot Noir and Meunier and has a light golden color. The boquet is full of savory intrigue and reminds me a bit of Gevrey-Chambertin, but with some sourdough toast from the over four years of ageing on the lees.
