The Bedouet family's history in the region dates back to the 1890s, when the estate was created by Henri Bedouet. His grandson, Michel, took possession and expanded the holdings when he assumed the reins in 1990. In 2010, he began the conversion to organic farming. The vines for the Clos des Grands Primos are planted on a mix of gneiss, mica, and schist soils creating the classic flavor profile of Muscadet. Notes of grapefruit, salted apples, melon, and flint expand on the nose and crisp acidity on the palate makes for one of our best Muscadets in the st...

The Choblet family established their vineyards in 1945 in what would become the Muscadet Côtes de Grandlieu appellation. Now three generations deep, brothers Herve and Nicolas Choblet work together from vine to bottle to make some of the most interesting and dynamic Muscadets in the region. The vines cultivated using organic methods, are planted atop granitic soils mixed with mica and schist, which brilliant mineral tones to the wine. It is aged in tank for 8 months sur lie before bottling. Some moules frites, s'il vous plaît!

94 points Decanter: "Jo Landron is still undecided whether 36 months is too long to leave his wines on lees, but based on this, the results are fabulous. From the luminous golden hue to the long and powerful mineral finish, this is a gripping wine. Showing the characteristic smokiness of the site in La Haye-Fouassière, it has a firm backbone of fruity acidity and enormous concentration of flavour, but nothing is heavy or overdone. Savoury, saline and masterfully balanced. Biodynamic. (BB)" (09/2021)

93 points Chris Kissack, "The Choblet brothers have already sold all of the 2012 vintage, and so have moved on to the 2013. From 78-year-old vines, this spent nine years on the lees, and was bottled in January 2022. It feels quite tense and incisive on the nose, a little introverted perhaps, possibly a hangover from its very recent bottling (a few weeks before my tasting). The palate feels very fresh, with powdered chalk and a reductive trait that also speaks of the lees it left behind. The palate has a beautifully supple character, sinew...

Muscadet as a simple, neutral, quaffing white? Not this one! Jo Landron is one of the very top producers in Muscadet. He has been completely organic since 1999 and is now certified biodynamic. He uses no chemicals of any kind with the vines, hand harvests, has natural yeast fermentations, and plows all his vineyards. This cuvée is vinified with a very short time on the lees, without chaptalization, making this a super fresh and lower-alcohol wine perfect with fresh oysters or as an aperitif. According to Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Jo Landron remains...
