Bid on this bottle of 1986 Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac (96VN, 95RP). Vinous: "This mirrors the bottle I tasted at the property in 2016: blackberry and graphite on the nose, gawky at first, but coalescing with time. The palate is well balanced with firm tannins, strong graphite scents unfolding with time, superb energy if not delivering quite the finesse and precision that the very best Lafite-Rothschild will bestow. (NM)" (06/2018)
Current Bid: $675.00

Bid on this bottle of 1986 Latour, Pauillac (90RP, 90WS). Wine Advocate: "Tasted from my cellar, the 1986 has consistently been outstanding, falling short of being sublime. The spicy, peppery bouquet reveals aromas of dried herbs and red currant fruit. (RP)" (06/2000)
Current Bid: $365.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Ducru-Beaucaillou, St-Julien (96JG, 95DC, 95WS, 94JD, 94RP). John Gilman: "The wine offers up a pure, precise and very deep nose of sweet cassis, cigar ash, a very complex base of gravelly soil tones, a nice touch of cedar and a topnote of cigar wrapper. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and tangy, with outstanding focus and bounce, a lovely core of fruit, ripe, well-measured tannins and a long, complex and very soil-driven finish. This is a classic vintage of Ducru-Beaucaillou in the making, and the re-released bottles are stellar. The wine is just starting to drink, but like so many of the top 1986 wines from the Médoc, it still has room to grow and would continue to benefit from further cellaring." (10/2020)
Current Bid: $320.00

Bid on this bottle of 1986 Margaux, Margaux (98VN, 97RP, 95WS). Vinous: "The 1986 Château Margaux was even more emotionally moving. Still incredibly youthful, it showed incredible focus and depth, all backed up by considerable structure. As hard as it may seem to believe, on this night the 1986 appeared to still be some years away from peaking. It was striking in every way. (AG) 98+" (02/2012)
Current Bid: $420.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1986 Léoville-Las-Cases, St-Julien (100DC, 100RP, 98VN, 97ST, 95WS). Wine Advocate: "The late Michel Delon always thought that this was the greatest vintage he had produced. We often tasted it side by side with the 1982, because I always preferred the latter vintage. Of course, the two vintages are quite different in style, with the 1986 a monument to classicism, with great tannin, extraordinary delineation, and a huge, full-bodied nose of sweet, ripe cassis fruit intermixed with vanilla, melon, fruitcake, and a multitude of spices. The wine has always been phenomenally concentrated, yet wonderfully fresh and vigorous. The wine still seems young, yet it is hard to believe it is not close to full maturity. It is a great example of Leoville Las Cases, and another compelling reason to take a serious look at the top Cabernet Sauvignon-based Medocs of 1986. (RP)" (01/2003)
