In 1855, château Romer du Hayot was awarded the rank of “second cru classé,” not long after the Hayot family took over the property in 1851. The du Hayot family is proud that their ownership of the estate predates the origin of Sauternes wines which were initially produced in the mid-19th century. The fifth generation, Catherine Boyer du Hayot carries on the family tradition, as the estate continues to craft wines of the finest quality.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1955 Mouton-Rothschild, Pauillac (98RP, 95WS, 94DC). Wine Advocate: "One of my favorite vintages for this château, the 1955 Mouton Rothschild continues to drink beautifully, offering up aromas of cassis, exotic spices, grilled ceps, dark chocolate, cigar box and rich loamy soil. Medium to full-bodied, rich and concentrated, with velvety but still abundant tannins, bright acids and an immensely long, penetrating finish, it's a profound, intensely characterful wine that continues to maintain a remarkably high level of quality.
