2012 Bonny Doon "Le Cigare Volant - Reserve" Central Coast Rhône Blend (Elsewhere $60) (Elsewhere $60)
Top Pick!
92 points Vinous: "Limpid ruby-red. A wild, spice-inflected bouquet evokes dried red berries, cherry compote, smoked game and succulent flowers. Chewy and well-concentrated on the palate, offering subtly sweet raspberry, cherry, floral pastille and smoked meat flavors that pick up a smoky mineral element with aeration. In a decidedly Old World style, showing solid grip and powerful mineral thrust on the long, gently tannic finish. (JR)" (10/2018) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This beloved annual bottling by Randall Grahm blends 39% Mourvèdre, 33% Grenach...

2012 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Back In Stock!
97 points Decanter: "Soft and juicy with flattering, bright red fruits. The alcohol is showing through just a little bit but it's countered by precise acidity. Starting to show really nicely when tasted in 2019, taking on cedar and tobacco leaf. This is a happy, juicy style, full of life - flamboyant but stylish. (MW)" (10/2019) 97 points Wine Spectator: "A stunner, with a gorgeous cassis aroma that soars from the glass, reinforced by a core of cassis, cherry and plum pâte de fruit, hoisin sauce, warm ganache and well-roasted apple wood notes. Hefty, b...

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1, 580 cases of the 2012 James Berry Vineyard and it reminds me of the 2009 Janasse Chaupin (which is one of Justin’s favorite wines). Incorporating more Mourvèdre than normal, it’s made from 43% Grenache, 29% Mourvèdre, 18% Syrah and 10% Counoise that’s aged in a combination of concrete and barrel. Rock star stuff, with fabulous black raspberry, cassis, spring flowers and charred meat aromas and flavors, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, yet stays lively, incredibly pure and elegant, with lots of fine tannin emerging on the finish. Bid on this magnum of 2012 Next of Kyn (Sine Qua Non) "Cumulus Vineyard No. 6" Central Coast Red Blend (1.5L) (99RP, 98VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A wine that flirts with perfection, the 2012 Cumulus Vineyard #6 is an interesting blend of 38% Syrah, 37% Grenache, 17.4% Petite Sirah and the rest Mourvedre that saw 33 months in 54% new French oak. There’s a tiny 191 cases made, and it’s one of the most singular, exotic wines I’ve tasted. Spice, cedar, chocolate, exotic flowers and an assortment of dark fruits all emerge from this full-bodied, layered blend that hits the palate with serious richness and depth. Yet, like all truly great wines, it’s light, ethereal and never, ever heavy. (JD)" (08/2016)
