2012 Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Back In Stock!
97 points Decanter: "Soft and juicy with flattering, bright red fruits. The alcohol is showing through just a little bit but it's countered by precise acidity. Starting to show really nicely when tasted in 2019, taking on cedar and tobacco leaf. This is a happy, juicy style, full of life - flamboyant but stylish. (MW)" (10/2019) 97 points Wine Spectator: "A stunner, with a gorgeous cassis aroma that soars from the glass, reinforced by a core of cassis, cherry and plum pâte de fruit, hoisin sauce, warm ganache and well-roasted apple wood notes. Bid on this bottle of 2012 Saxum "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Rhône Blend (97RP, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 1, 580 cases of the 2012 James Berry Vineyard and it reminds me of the 2009 Janasse Chaupin (which is one of Justin’s favorite wines). Incorporating more Mourvèdre than normal, it’s made from 43% Grenache, 29% Mourvèdre, 18% Syrah and 10% Counoise that’s aged in a combination of concrete and barrel. Rock star stuff, with fabulous black raspberry, cassis, spring flowers and charred meat aromas and flavors, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness and depth, yet stays lively, incredibly pure and elegant, with lots of fine tannin emerging on the finish. Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 M. Chapoutier "La Mordorée" Côte-Rôtie (97RP, 96WS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While I loved Michel's 2012 Cote Rotie la Mordoree from barrel, it blew me away from bottle, and I think bares more than a passing resemblance to his 1991. About as elegant and seamless as they come, it exhibits incredible notes of violets, peppery spice, spring flowers, rose petal and darker berry fruit. This is followed by a full-bodied, sweetly fruited, expansive Cote Rotie that's perfectly balanced, has beautiful mid-palate density, and ultra-fine tannin that emerge on the finish. (JD)" (12/2014)
Starting Bid: $390.00
