94 points Vinous: "The 2019 M5, Doug Margerum's Grenache-based blend, is a remarkably polished wine. Translucent and brilliant, with tons of nuance, the M5 hits all the right notes. Crushed flowers, lavender, rose petal and spice are beautifully delineated. The M5 is another winner in this range from Margerum. (AG)" (10/2021) 92 points Wine Spectator: "A racy blend, with structure and style. Offers lively cherry and raspberry flavors laced with sweet anise and white pepper. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise and Cinsault. (TF)" (03/2021) K&L Notes:...
92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "There are two Grenache releases. First, the 2019 Grenache Lumiere Larner Vineyard comes from a site in Ballard Canyon and was destemmed and aged in 25% new French oak. Its ruby/translucent color is followed by a pretty, perfumed, medium-bodied Grenache offering supple tannins, wonderful purity, and notes of herbes de Provence, white pepper, and both red and black fruits. Seemingly part Grenache and part Pinot Noir, this seamless effort will keep for 7-8 years."
