This classic Muscat is made from the smaller berried and more aromatic Petits Grains. It is fortified shortly after fermentation leaving it at a sweet but not too sweet 110g/L residual sugar. Perfect foil for tarts, fruit pies and soft creamy cheeses.

Bid on this 1-500 ml bottle lot of 1993 Château Tirecul La Gravière Cuvée Madame Monbazillac (500ml) (95RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: The 1993 Cuvee Madame is a formidable effort. Like its two younger siblings, it is syrupy and honeyed, with penetrating aromas, in addition to a majestic level of flavor intensity, and a finish that lasts for 45 seconds. Only 20 cases were produced. Monbazillac is well-known in French history, but my experience in tasting through the appellation's wines has unearthed few gems. Leave it to Eric Solomon to discover this remarkable estate. The vineyard is planted with a high percentage of Muscadelle (50%), along with Semillon (45%), and Sauvignon (5%). There are two cuvees produced. The young vine cuvee (the vines are 45-years old) produced only 8.5 hectoliters per hectare in 1994 (less than one-quarter ton of fruit per acre). (RP) (06/1996)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Clos Haut-Peyraguey, Sauternes (97WS, 96JS, 93RP, 91ST). Wine Spectator: "***Highly Recommended*** Smells like pure caramel with just a hint of dried apricot. Full-bodied, ultrasweet and fabulously concentrated. This goes on for minutes. Coats your palate but shows fab acidity. Big, juicy young sticky. (JS)" (09/2004)
Starting Bid: $150.00
