93 points Decanter: "Very much about the plum and damson fruit, this is concentrated, with a dab of fruit sweetness at its heart. Really quite extracted, the tannins are bold but not coarse, and it finishes on fresh, blackberry-like acidity. A powerful, robust and traditional style of Rasteau that will please traditionalists no end. Grown on clay limestone slopes, all destemmed, the Syrah is matured in barrel, the Grenache in tank. 90 points Vinous: "The 2022 Crozes-Hermitage Origine bursts with energy. Made of grapes from 30-year-old vines grown in a density of 5,500 per hectare, it comes in at 13.45% alcohol. 91 points Decanter: "Good depth of colour. Sage and pine needles over raspberry and blackberry fruit. Full and generous, with plenty of fat, with that tell-tale touch of Rasteau sucrosité. A hint of raspberry eau-de-vie, too. The alcohol is a little raised, but the tannins are very fine, with a long, slightly spicy finish. Planted on blue marls with galets roulés, all destemmed. 90% aged in concrete, the rest in barrel. (MW)" (02/2023)
