While there seems to be no shortage of Orkney malt on the market, there is a serious dearth of it at screaming good prices. For just 80 bucks this famous Ornkey distillery at cask strength and a respectable 14 years is a heck of a deal. Aged in a refill hogshead this shows off that beautiful heathery peat that the distillery is famous for. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 51.7% and without coloring or chill filtration.

It has been quite some time since we've had an official Highland Park Single Cask straight from the distillery and we are thrilled to offer this at the sharpest pricing we've seen in the program in years. This epic first fill full sized European oak sherry butt delivers a massive Orkeny experience at a whopping 66.1% ABV. The jewel of the Orkney Islands is famous for its heather peat offering a gentle floral toned smoke and its impeccable use of sherry maturation, both are on full display here.

Highland Park's single casks are simply some of the finest OB single cask bottlings in all of Scotland. Released in Summer 2023, this California exclusive cask yielded only 515 bottles. Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, meticulously selected Cask No. 4099 in 2003 for its outstanding quality. After maturing for nearly two decades in a first-fill sherry seasoned European oak butt, the whisky was bottled in 2022. The yield is a masterful blend of oak, ginger, nutmeg, and peat with a finish of woody spices, liquorice, and vanilla. This deep ruby-hued whisk...

96-100 points Wine Enthusiast: "Opening aromas are of sea breeze, cigar smoke, oak and malted barley; air contact releases light caramel, fudge, cocoa bean, burnt candle wick and heather. Entry is the most complex of any whisky; midpalate soars on oak, spirit and grain tastes. The greatest distilled spirit of this generation. Buy whatever you can find. *Best Buy* (PP)" (11/2008) 94 points Whisky Advocate: "Introduced to the Highland Park portfolio in 1997. Gentle peat, soft toffee, floral notes, and honey on the beautifully fragrant nose. Superbly bala...

The third release of Highland Park's cask strength malt Scotch whisky is deep gold and redolent with lightly charred oak, honey, lemon, anise, mango, vanilla cream with hints of violet, pink grapefruit zest and peat smoke that smolders, according to the producer.

93 points Whisky Advocate: "The good news: This is one of the best Highland Park whiskies I have ever tasted. The bad news: it’s the new release for Travel Retail (formerly Duty Free). It’s lush, well-balanced, and very complex. Well-defined notes of toffee, candied fruit, and roasted nuts are accentuated by background honey, chocolate mousse, and smoke. Here’s the icing on the cake: it’s bottled at 47.5%, which really allows the flavors to shine. If you’re going overseas, consider tracking down a bottle. (JH, Summer 2008)" K&L Notes: In 2009 Highland P...

A great package - HP 12 with a 50ml rider of HP 18 all at the regular price of the 12 year! Highland Park, one of only two distilleries in the Orkney Isles, is the world's most northerly whisky distillery. It was founded in 1798 by Magnus Euson. Until it was licensed in 1825, its production was illicit and Euson was assisted in evading the excisemen by a kinsman who was a Kirk elder, and hid the contraband under the pulpit. By the 1880s, Highland Park had an established reputation and at one time both the King of Denmark and the Emperor of Russia declare...

Highland Park quickly scrapped the ceramic decanter they re-released the 15 year old in a couple of years ago. From HP: Creating balanced, distinct whiskies takes hard work, skill, dedication, and time: harmonised complexity can’t be rushed. Which is why we matured our robust and oily new make spirit for an extended time in a high proportion of refill casks along with first-fill sherry seasoned European and American oak casks. The resulting flavour profile is an astonishingly complex harmony. There’s that fudgy sweetness found in the more mature Highland Park expressions, but here it’s paired with layers of aromatic spice and dark chocolate orange and floral peat...

Initially released in 2008, Highland Park 40 was named Best New Release of the Year at the World Whisky Awards 2009. 40 year exemplifies the Orcadian commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Using primarily refill casks, the 40 year shows perfect balance and impeccable depth without going over the edge into the oaky abyss that is so common with these super old bottling. Creating a whisky of this quality and age requires incredible planning, extreme and meticulous barrel management, and a devotion to quality matched by few. Primarily it is Highland P...
