91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pretty and relatively airy nose offers up notes of spicy anise-suffused tea, plum, dark cherry and a hint of raspberry. Like a number of wines in the range, the texture of the larger-scaled flavors is beguiling before culminating in a muscular and powerful if slightly raspy but not drying finish. This too is going to need extended cellaring as it's presently quite tightly wound." (04/2020) K&L Notes: 93-96 points Jasper Morris for Inside Burgundy: "Lovely clear even purple colour. There is a sensual class to t...

94 points Decanter: "A bold and spicy nose full of black pepper, black cherries and clove which combine to give a soft savoury and fruity expression. Such vivacity and life force on the palate, the wine just jumps out of the glass, mouthfilling but with a lightness of touch and soft chalky tannins. Touch of oak gives structure and elegance to the bright cherry and raspberry fruit. From a 1.4 hectare clay-limestone plot, 50% parcel was planted in 1979, the other half in 1987. The wine is aged on the lees for 16-18 months, of which 12 months are spent in o...

2019 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
Top Pick!
98 points James Suckling: "A truly amazing Corton, thanks to the laser beam of sour-cherry aroma that shoots right through this sleek and vibrant wine. Great concentration, but remains light on its feet. The mineral finish extends and extends as you struggle to take it all in. Still very young with enormous aging potential. Drink or hold." (07/2021) 93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Corton Grand Cru Clos des Cortons Faiveley opens in the glass with notes of cassis, wild berries, warm spices, orange rind, rose petals, espresso roast ...

92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here too there is a whiff of herbal tea sitting atop the cool essence of various wild red berries and newly turned earth scents. There is first-rate richness and volume to the big-bodied and tautly muscular flavors that also conclude in an overtly austere finish that offers dramatically good persistence. This too is quite firmly structured and like any Corton worthy of the name, it's built for extended cellaring." (01/2021) K&L Notes: 93-95 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Grown on Oxfordian limestone with...

96 points James Suckling: "Wow. This is a solid Corton with ripe strawberries, plums, bark and porcini. Full-bodied with tight, fine tannins, focused depth of fruit and excellent length. Quite muscular for the vintage." (08/2020) 93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Moderate wood and menthol influences frame the intensely earthy and gamy aromas of both red and dark currant. There is excellent energy to the stony medium weight plus flavors that are at once succulent yet powerful where the latter carries over to the serious, firmly structured and mil...

93-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An overtly floral nose reflects notes of rose petal, lavender, acacia and violet along with nuances of red and black fruit, earth and a whiff of forest floor. There is excellent intensity, size, weight and power to the attractively textured big-bodied flavors that brim with minerality on the caressing but punchy finale. This beautifully balanced effort is in the classic mold of this wine as it's very clearly built for the long haul and again, I would suggest not touching this wine for at least a decade and two dec...

92-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Elegant, pure and airy aromas are comprised by spiced red cherry, plum and hints of warm earth, smoked game and pretty spice wisps. The nicely intense medium-bodied flavors are shaped by polished tannins and excellent verve while displaying good focus on the dusty, muscular, more structured and focused finish where the only reproach is a mild touch of warmth. As is usually the case, there is just a bit more overall depth here compared to its two Corton stablemates." (01/2021) 94 points Decanter: "in the lieu-dit...

95 points Decanter: "Made with fruit purchased from a 0.32ha parcel planted in 1956, below Le Corton. 40% whole clusters and 60% new casks give a deeply aromatic wine, with abundant aromas of ripe blackberry, menthol, mineral and violets. On the palate, the texture is silky and very fine, yet there is a core of very firm tannins and great length. This has everything one wants in a Corton, from abundant fruit to firm structure and an immense finish. Drinking Window 2024 - 2039. (CC)" (10/2020) 90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An overly floral no...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Champy Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru (93WS). Wine Spectator: "This is austere, with a base of stony, chalky mineral notes lifting the black cherry and blackberry flavors. Fierce tannins guard the finish, while smoky, spicy accents grace the aftertaste. Needs time. Best from 2019 through 2035. 50 cases made, 10 cases imported. (BS)" (09/2015)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this bottle of 2002 Domaine de la Pousse d'Or Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru ((91-94RP), 92BH, 92ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Deep aromas of candied cherries, plums, and violets are found in the nose of the 2002 Corton Bressandes. Wonderfully dense and concentrated, this beauty coats the taster’s palate with syrupy cherries, coffee, blackberries, and cassis. It is intensely flavored, medium to full-bodied, well-structured, and possesses an immensely long finish. (PR)" (06/2004)
Starting Bid: $89.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2005 Domaine Bertagna Corton Grand Cru "Les Grandes Lolieres" (95WS, (91-93BH)). Wine Spectator: "A powerful red, with floral, kirsch and raspberry flavors. Supple and concentrated, with dense tannins and bright acidity. Seems raw right now, but has the wild character and intense fruit of the appellation. Excellent length. (BS)" (02/2008)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1993 Domaine Faiveley Corton-Clos des Cortons Faiveley Grand Cru (95BH, 93VN). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Deeply colored with only a touch of bricking. The expressive and gorgeously complex and spicy nose has gone almost exclusively secondary and there is a touch of sous-bois lurking in the background. The sleek, intense and powerful yet relatively refined big-bodied flavors flash prominent minerality on the superbly long and equally complex finish. I was seriously impressed with how well this showed and while for my taste it has peaked, it should hold gracefully for years to come." (05/2018)
Starting Bid: $450.00

92-94 points Vinous: "The 2019 Corton Clos du Roi Grand Cru comprises just one barrel this year. It has a very well-defined bouquet of ebullient red berry fruit laced with sous-bois and truffle aromas. The palate is very harmonious and elegant, delivering supple tannins and impressive weight toward the finish of pure raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, plus a tang of white pepper on the aftertaste. (NM)" (12/2020)
Price: $249.99

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2004 Domaine Louis Jadot Corton Grand Cru (OWC - 91JG) in original wood. John Gilman: "The wine is really a quite lovely example of the 2004 vintage, as it offers up a complex and very clean nose of cherries, orange zest, vinesmoke, lovely, stony minerality, incipient notes of game, spicy wood and the faintest touch of white pepper in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, pure and very transparent, with a fine core of sweet, red fruit, bright acids, moderate tannins, blossoming complexity and fine length and grip on the still youthfully chewy finish. This wine needs another six to eight years to really soften and will prove to be a delightful example of the vintage. I would fully expect the slight touch of white pepper that still exists today to be totally subsumed into sous bois tones with further bottle age and this will be an excellent bottle of Corton. (Drink between 2017-2050)" (06/2010)
Starting Bid: $300.00

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine Ponsot Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru ((91-94BH)). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is still quite reduced save for a touch of residual lactic fermentation aromas. By contrast there is good verve and detail to the large-scaled and powerful flavors that are blessed with an abundance of palate coating extract as well as an intense minerality on the driving finish. The nose obviously must clean up but this displays very impressive material and depth." (06/2013)
Starting Bid: $245.00

2019 Domaine Chandon des Briailles Corton Grand Cru “Les Bressandes” (Pre-Arrival) (Pre-Arrival)
New!
94-96 points Vinous: "The 2019 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru is deeper in color compared with the Les Maréchaudes. The well-defined bouquet features cranberry and wild strawberry scents intermixed with wilted rose petal and sous-bois, delicate yet paradoxically intense. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, and fleshier than the Maréchaudes; the stem addition here seems more enmeshed. Just beautiful. (NM)" (10/2020) 94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A wonderfully spicy nose also features plenty of floral influence to the liqueur-like aroma...
