This special onetime pricing on Speyburn's Arranta should not be missed. Toffee, vanilla, and spice dominate the profile of this USA exclusive bottling that comes from first fill ex-Bourbon casks and is bottled at 46% ABV. The classic Speyside distillery still uses wormtubs in its production and this leads to a full and rich spirit, perfectly matched to 1st first Bourbon casks.

We dreamed for years of creating a delicious, interesting expression of blended Scotch whisky that we could feature under our Faultline label at a value driven price. We were close many times, but either the quality of the whisky or the cost of the barrels proved prohibitive. We didn't want to make a $25 bottle of whisky just for the sake of it. After working on and off with our bottler for over a year-long blending process, we hammered out a profile we were finally happy with. Big smoke, Ardbeg-like peat flavors, and a kiss of sweet grain was our goal, ...

Released in July of 2014 to celebrate OPs maritime hertiage and entry in the 2013-14 Clipper Round The World Yacht Race. Old Pulteney made just 2,700 cases of this limited edition bottling. Weridly a some cases resurfaced in a deep warehouse dive at the importer. Old Pulteney has long been a favorite of the store and this bottling is excellent, so we jumped at the chance to bring it back onto our shelf (and at 50% off of the original price in 2014 to boot!) Bottled at a robust 46% ABV this bottling features malt aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Th...

A blast from the past. Anchor distilling was founded in 1993 by Fritz Maytag and was housed in the same facility as the famed Anchor Steam Brewery which has just been tragically shut down by its corporate owners that purchased the facility in 2017. In that 2017 deal, Anchor Distilling, which was not included in the sale of the brewery, lost both its home in the brewery and its name. It rebranded as Hotaling and still makes the spectacularly delicious Junipero gin in its new home at Pier 50 in SF. While they rebranded into a new modern package shortly aft...

The Earl and Countess of Carnarvon have lived at Highclere Castle since 1679. Today, their gin reflects many of the botanicals grown in the Castle's herb gardens - originally planted in the 9th century by the Bishops of Winchester. This London Dry gin has a beautiful balance of juniper, lime flower, orange peel, and just a touch of lavendar. Lovely with Tonic and a lemon peel or squeeze of lime or as the base in any clasic gin cocktail. It's tough to go wrong at our new pricing.

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Concentrated dark fruit leads the nose and palate on this garnet-hued aperitif wine infused with quinine. Complex, rich stewed fruit notes suggest cherry pie and Port brushed with vanilla, finishing long with drying hints of plum skin, sage and dried oregano plus a hint of espresso like bitterness. Mix with whiskey and other dark spirits. *Best Buy* (KN)" (04/2019) K&L Notes: This legendary red wine-based aperitif is finally available in the US. 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This New Zealand vodka—distilled from whey—is smooth, clean, sweet and surprisingly full bodied for a vodka, featuring light vanilla and anise notes. (KN)" (02/2013) K&L Notes: You read correctly, this vodka is distilled from whey! Before you start thinking of Little Miss Muffet, let me tell you that this might be the best vodka we carry in the entire store, period. The purity of the distillate and the clean finish will destroy all faith in big brand loyalty. Try a bottle of the Broken Shed and just try going back to your st...

Villa De Varda was founded by the Dolzan family in the early1800s and is today being run by the 6th generation. Each generation has carefully taken their forefathers knowledge and expertise and yet judiciously improved the grappa making process as advancements in distillation technology and farming practices made better and better distillate possible. Today the Mezzolombardo distillery embodies the height of Trentino Grappa. While all grappa is made from pomace, not everyone uses someone else’s byproduct to make their spirit. Varda sets out to grow grape...

We sell virtually no spiced rum here at K&L. This is not because spiced rum is inherently bad, it's just that the vast majority of the spiced rums on the market are packed full of artificial garbage and they taste like it. Not so with Bounty. The St. Lucia classic is a lovely and inexpensive spiced rum for whatever your cocktail or sipping needs might be. It's foucsed on vanilla and cinnamon, but also includes a local St. Lucian bark from the Richeria grandis "Bois Bande" tree giving it a unique local flavor.

The Bonsucro Certified molasses is fermented for 36 hours in open air fermenters and then double distilled in creole column stills before aging for 2 yeas in oak. Wate is provided by a local spring fed pond and supplemented with RO rainwater. Bounty is the workhorse rum of nearly every bar in St. Lucia, and at its very affordable price and excellent quality levels, it's easy to see why.

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This pale gold aperitif displays mellow, juicy pear and peach nectar on nose and palate. Overall this is juicy, mouthwatering and easy-drinking, mixing fruity and earthy notes and finishing with an inviting floral lilt. Sip or mix. (KN)" (04/2019) K&L Notes: This famous aperitif wine has made a resurgence in recent years as the cocktail revolution has inspired a new generation of mixologists to explore tried, true, and traditional potations. *Special one time pricing* From the producer: In 2008, Alexandre Gabriel caused quite a sensation by producing wood-aged Citadelle Reserve. No one had seen an aged gin for nearly a century. In those days, when glass was too fragile and expensive and plastic and stainless steel were not options, gin was transported in wooden barrels. And thus became wood-aged. With Citadelle Reserve, Maison Ferrand celebrated the rebirth of golden gins. What began as a ‘family’ experiment in 2008 and shared with a few inquisitive bartenders and friends has now blossomed ...

The man, the myth, the legend…the mysterious mezcalero Don Celso of Rio Golea is spoken of in reverential terms by agave cognoscenti all over. Celso distills only this one core varietal, but does it so beautifully that we couldn’t dream of asking for anything else. Truly legendary Espadín, which speaks deeply of varietal and place, with bold fruit and hints of hard cheese on the nose, and minerality, weight, and earthy musculature on the palate.

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A versatile must-have for mixing cocktails, look for pleasing vanilla, maple and a hint of dried cherry. The finish is long and drying, with plenty of baking spice notes. (KN)" (07/2016) Whisky Advocate: "Rittenhouse packs lots of corn, offering a different profile than those higher-rye whiskeys from Indiana. The exceptional Ford's Gin is one of the most versatile London Drys on the market. Distilled at the exceptional Thames Distillery by master distiller Charles Maxwell and the famous Simon Ford. They start with a base of Italian juniper and coriander seed, and the recipe is expanded thoughtfully to include bitter oranges, lemon and grapefruit peel. Subtle jasmine and orris add a soft floral quality, while spicy angelica root and cassia bark give it some structure. I've always noted a smidge of cucumber, but the distiller won't cop to it. Anyway, the mixtur...

96-100 points Wine Enthusiast: "96-100 points Wine Enthusiast: "Opening nosing passes detect subtle toasty, charcoal aromas. Fashioned more in the plump, sweet style of Holland than eastern Europe (thick, hearty) or Scandinavia (light, flowery)." From the producer: "Starting with a California white wine base, we fortify the wine using neutral grape spirits. Then we add grape concentrate and cane sugar for a rich mouth feel and a sweet finish. Predominant aromas of sweet citrus fruit with hints of ginger, exotic flowers and spices are supported by a framework of cinchona bark and bitter root extracts. Adds refreshing fruit flavors and crisp bitterness to a variety of cocktails. Pairs especially well with sparkling wine and aged spirits."

90-95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A syrupy textured mixer comprised of liquid sucrose, lime juice, almond and clove essences and water—not to be consumed neat. Clove and lime juice on the nose. Scores of applications in cocktails. *Best Buy* (PP)" (06/2006) K&L Notes: Velvet Falernum is a longtime staple item of resorts and bars in Barbados, and today for its use in tropical, tiki, and Caribbean drinks such as the Rum Swizzle, Mai Tai, Zombie,...

A combination of column and pot distillates Bounty Dark Rum packs a little more punch than it's golden brother. 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Distilled from grain and fruit—specifically, Bartlett pears—this complex vodka doesn't have the neutral profile some vodka drinkers expect. The warm scent suggests roasted almonds. On the palate, vanilla and almond intertwine with a mild sweetness that recalls agave, with a barely perceptible, mouthwatering salinity. The finish is malty and roasty. The overall effect is a vodka that ever-so-subtly winks at the whiskey bottle down the shelf. *Top 100 Spirits of 2016* (KN)" (10/2016) K&L Notes: The no-compete clause is over!!!...

97 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lively and complex, this carries aromas of honey, cedar, Mandarin orange, cooked pineapple and brown sugar. The plush, slightly viscous palate echoes those flavors, layering on bright flickers of cedar and lemon peel, plus a hint of funk reminiscent of agricole rhum. It finishes with a warming clove tingle on the tip of the tongue. Made with 100% pot still Jamaican rum, aged first in Jamaica and then in ex-Cognac casks at the Ferrand estate. *Best Buy* (KN)" (06/2019) K&L Notes: This stunning 100% pot still Jamaican rum is a...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "The brisk, invigorating scent of this amaro hovers between herbal and medicinal. On the palate, it skews sweeter, with rich caramel and hazelnut flavors and just enough bitterness and baking spice to keep things interesting. " (04/2014) K&L Notes: Leave it to the Italians to make a bottle of "bitter" so beautiful and so tasty, too. This is an infusion, made from a secret recipe of aromatic herbs in alcohol, with the addition of a small amount of water and sugar. The result is a digestivo like none other, and just the thing t...

Wine & Spirits: "Lance Winters of St. George Spirits helped reinvent American vodka when he co-created the Hangar One line and its exotic flavors like Buddha’s Hand and Kaffir Lime. Since selling the brand in 2010, he’s been vodka-free until this year. St. George’s new vodkas are less flamboyant and more workman-like, but no less artful. The All Purpose is smooth, robust, and easy going; California Citrus is fragrant with fruits and blossoms, yet remains restrained and modest, and Green Chile is destined to vivify a Bloody Mary or Margarita. While Heaven Hill has removed the age statement from the label, they do still describe this incredible value bourbon as 6 years old. Bottled at 103 proof, this is absolutely one of the very best values available coming out of Kentucky. Very Good/Recommended by the Wine Enthusiast: "Deep amber-brown hue. First whiff is prickly due to 103 proof; as it settles down, aromas of baked apple, butterscotch and corn mash emerge. Palate entry is sweet; midpalate is manageably fiery.
