Top Pick!
94 points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine is vibrant, with aromas of baked Bing cherry, strawberry, plum, dried herbs and vanilla cream on the nose. Flavors of red currant-cranberry confiture and orange bitters wrap around cardamom spice, and a long, supple finish. (TP)" (10/2024) K&L Notes: A real wow factor wine, the 2023 Brick & Mortar Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is explosive on the nose and palate. Bencham Cilek is a tiny winery founded by two friends and college roommates looking to explore exciting, cool-climate wines unbound by convention. The wines are made using very minimal intervention allowing the fruit to speak for itself. The name of this Russian River Valley Pinot Noir - "Les Cent" - literally means "the one hundred" in reference to 100% stem inclusion or 100% whole-cluster fermentation method that was employed here. Coming from a vineyard in the Laguna Ridge sub-region of Russian River with neighbors like Joseph Swan and Kistler, this i...

Aromas of bubblegum, watermelon and cherry lead from the nose into a palate that is generous with flavors of peach and stonefruit yet reserved by snappy citrus tones." 94 points Decanter: "This wine is a fantastic take on Gamay, made from vines over 30 years old on the west side of the Willamette Valley. With a classic Beaujolais feel, it greets you with beautiful aromas of fresh red fruits like cranberries and pomegranates, bringing lively acidity to your palate. The juicy, crunchy fruit flavours, the hint of pepper, the light earthiness, and soft tannins make it a perfect ‘food-friendly’ choice. Or, if you prefer, it’s also perfectly acceptable to place this wine on your "chillable reds" shelf and enjoy a few glasses...

94 points Vinous: "The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Massa Vineyard shows why Cabernet Sauvignon is such a noble variety. There's gorgeous textural depth and power here, but in the restrained style that runs through all these wines. Young and potent, the 2023 is redolent of black cherry, plum, incense, licorice and gravel. There's an exotic quality here from the late harvest that is impossible to miss. I would give this time to soften. The tannins are pretty imposing today." K&L Notes: From the renowned Massa Vineyard in Carmel Valley. Planted in 1968 at 1,70...

90 points Tim Atkin: "Juan Carlos Sancha has been making Tempranillo Blanco since 2008 and was the man who rediscovered the variety. This is a pure, unwooded expression of the grape, with peach and pear flavours, good focus and some leesy weight." (02/2023) K&L Notes: Juan Carlos Sancha believes that the future of Rioja lies in its past. He has spent the past 5 decades as a viticulture professor from the university of La Rioja in Logrono. He has been directly responsible for the cultivation and introduction of ancient varietals into the DO. His Ad Lib...

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Soft peach, watermelon and rose petal aromas hold their poise for days on the nose of this blend of 71% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre, 8% Vermentino and 1% Counoise. The palate is energetic and and stony in texture, offering crisp pomegranate and orange peel flavors. (MK)" (09/2024) 92 points Decanter: "TTaking a page from the Rhône's use of Rolle the white grape in rosé, Tablas Creek has used it here to perfection, under its other name, Vermentino. Bright candied strawberries, and cut fresh rhubarb are accented by soaring citrus ...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Lovely aromas of watermelon and peach pick up a floral tone on the nose of this rosé blend of 72% Grenache, 26% Cinsaut and 2% Tibouren. Similar fruit flavors are encased in firm tannins on the broad and likable sip, cut by bright acidity. (MK)" K&L Notes: The Language of Yes is the latest project from winemaking legend Randall Grahm of Bonny Doon Vineyard fame. Made in hommage to the great rosé wines of southern France. Randall's decades of experience really show in this category leading rosé. Mostly Grenache from Rancho Rea...

Despite the broad California AVA, this very deliberately made, thoughtful rosé is from two specific vineyards renowned for quality fruit. The blend on the 2023 is 58% Grenache from Cemetery Vineyard in Mendocino and and 42% Mourvèdre from Placida Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. The fruit was whole-cluster pressed, then fermented with native yeasts and aged in a combination of concrete tanks and 1000L French oak oval casks.
