98 points Int'l Wine Review: "The 2019 Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon from Dunn in nothhing short of stunning in this vintage. This immediately begins to impress as it opens to gorgeous perfumed aromatics of ripe dark currants and black cherries, which are woven together with fresh violets, graphite shavings, exotic spices, herbs and earthy minerals that all come together and burst from the glass. On the palate this is full-bodied and remarkably polished, with absolutely incredible overall balance and structure. This displays wonderful precision and ...

93 points James Halliday: "Each batch destemmed and pressed forthwith to tank to settle, with one exception fermented with cultured yeast, the remainder fermented in new French oak, 2 months in oak. Complex and vibrant with citrus uppermost on the long palate." (06/2021) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A style unique to Margaret River, this SBS is both vibrant and restrained, allowing both varieties to shine. Citrusy and pungent, it shows waxy lemon, white pepper and wet wool alongside green veg notes like bell pepper and snap peas. It's really about the m...

98 points Wine Advocate: "The 2019 Pinot Noir Gestalt Block is a stunning Pinot Noir that was reticent and wound in an earlier tasting but has blossomed into a kaleidoscopic beauty. Its perfume is heavenly and changes with each return to the glass: violet and graphite give way to red cherry and pomegranate preserves, which in turn segues to nuances of tobacco leaves, bitter orange and woodsmoke. The palate is equally compelling, its deep core of fruit streaked with touches of iron and haunting floral perfume. It has a frame of powdery tannins, focused ac...

Not to be confused with Château d'Issan or its second wine, Blason d'Issan, this awesome value (from the vintage Jancis Robinson suggests might Bordeaux's best ever) actually hails from a different vineyard than these other d'Issan's. And while this is labelled and sold as Bordeaux Supérieur, it is nonetheless under the outstanding d'Issan umbrella (the 2019 grand vin got 96 points from Jane Anson).
