Antonio Galloni comments on the winery in June 2021 for Vinous, "I was blown away by the wines I tasted with Nikolas and Julia Krankl this past summer. Working out of a tiny winery that is essentially in their backyard, the Krankls are making gorgeous, distinctive wines. The Krankls describe 2019 as a year with a long, cool growing season and a wide harvest window."

95 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2019 Grenache 2 2 Tango is terrific. A blend of 76% Grenache, 15% Graciano, and the rest Syrah, sourced from multiple sites throughout the Central Coast (mostly Ballard Canyon), it has a cool, lively, incredibly elegant style to go with textbook Grenache notes of red and blue fruits, ground pepper, and herbes de Provence. It has fabulous purity of fruit, and I’m a fan. Drink bottles over the coming 7-8 years." (09/2021)

92 points Jeb Dunnuck: "There are two Grenache releases. First, the 2019 Grenache Lumiere Larner Vineyard comes from a site in Ballard Canyon and was destemmed and aged in 25% new French oak. Its ruby/translucent color is followed by a pretty, perfumed, medium-bodied Grenache offering supple tannins, wonderful purity, and notes of herbes de Provence, white pepper, and both red and black fruits. Seemingly part Grenache and part Pinot Noir, this seamless effort will keep for 7-8 years."
