98 points John Gilman: "The 2015 Louis Roederer Cristal is composed this year from a cépages of sixty percent pinot noir and forty percent chardonnay, with twenty-five percent of the vins clairs raised in oak barrels. As is customary, the still wines do not go through malolactic fermentation for Cristal and the wine was finished with a dosage of seven grams per liter in this vintage, after aging nearly seven years sur lattes. It delivers a beautifully refined aromatic constellation of apple, nectarine, a superbly complex base of chalky minerality, a touc...

Composed of the same grapes in the same percentages as the Crianza, the Reserva is a barrel selection of wines that Ángel Escudero feels can undergo longer aging in barrel and then in bottle. Aged a total of 27 months in barrels, then into concrete for more than a year, the Reserva also sees bottle aging until Ángel deems it ready for release. This wine ramps up the intensity of the Crianza, with more pungent fruit as well as a real spicy and wild quality. As with many of the best Riojas, this wine is quite delicious right now if you want to drink some b...

Alexandre Le Brun is the smallest producer that we import (or even carry) from Champagne at just 7.5 acres. He only makes wine from half of the grapes he brings in, selling the rest off to negociants; his production totals just one thousand cases a year. This tiny scale allows Alex to do nearly everything himself and this hands-on approach shows through in the finished product. He only uses his own estate fruit for his Champagne, and this wine comes from just two rows in the grand cru of Chouilly, in a plot called La Derriere du Mont Aigu. This is electr...

Château Bois-Malot is located in St-Loubes and situated on the shoreline of the Dordogne River. The soils are clay and light limestone with a subsoil of red pebbles and clay. The wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and is aged for 18 months in tanks, followed by six months in barrels. If you like framboise you will adore this wine — 2015 was a huge success for this property. As in most years, this wine tastes and smells of raspberries and earth, but with a gentle middle and a soft finish due to the extraordinary v...

96 points Jeb Dunnuck: "An awesome Saint Emilion, the 2015 Château Barde-Haut showed even better on this occasion than on release. A huge nose of sweet crème de cassis, jammy blackberries, violets, leather, and dried herbs gives way to a full-bodied wine that has a great mid-palate, ripe, silky tannins, not a hard edge to be found, and a great, great finish." (03/2020) 95 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, wet earth and black tea. Full-bodied, dense and layered with medium, chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. Shows focus and...

100 points James Suckling: "Seductive. The nose draws you in deep: It’s like staring into a well of pristine dark cherries, dark plums, blackberries and mulberries. All the oak is perfectly subsumed. The palate’s flawless with immense depth and power and it’s so balanced as to appear to float. Immaculate fresh dark-berry and plum flavors. Silky and deep, ribbon-like finish. Perfect. *2018 Wine of the Year*" (02/2018) 100 points Wine Advocate: "The 2015 Canon was a benchmark wine that seemed to revitalize this historic estate. I was crossing my fingers ...

The estate formerly known as Chateau Pegasus was one of the first organic producers in Greece. Recently undergoing its name change, Markos Markovitis rechristened the winery with his family name. Focusing on the singular grape variety Xinomavro, Markos has been crafting these wines on his humble 16 acre estate, continuing to farm organically, hand harvesting, switching to a gravity fed system and using minimal intervention in the cellar, all to produce one of the most singular wines in the region. 100% Xinomavro from a single site aged for 12 months i...

94 points James Suckling: "Dark plums, gently toast spices and dark, stony, graphite-like aromas here. The palate has an extremely fluid, charming feel with dark plums and chocolate in terms of flavors. Really supple and effortlessly long. Try from 2022." (02/2018) Wine Advocate: "Blended of 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, the medium garnet-purple colored 2015 de Bel-Air has something of a dark-fruited, animal, broody nose, showing notes of stewed plums, baked blackberries and beef drippings with a waft of bay leaves. Medium to...

93 points Vinous: "The 2015 Brut Blanc de Blancs Millésime Grand Cru is a pure Chardonnay from Avize. It is golden in the glass and opens with a pure note of ripe Golden Delicious apple and a hint of buttery popcorn. Melted butter and flavors of golden polenta give much savor to the slightly loose palate that has an edge of bitter almond. The mousse is lively, bubbles burst softly. Very much a 2015 wine, but with freshness and flavor. Dosage is 6.7gr/L. Disgorged: May, 2022. (AK)" (11/2023) K&L Notes: The Bonville family owns 50 acres of Grand Cru vine...

93 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Strawberries, blueberries, and violets, intermixed with plenty of toasted spice nuances, emerge from the 2015 WCS Jack John. It's another ripe, jammy, youthful 2015 that has terrific purity and freshness, as well as balance. This cuvée is 80% Grenache, 17% Syrah and the rest Mourvèdre and Viognier, aged 14 months in French oak." (08/2017) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Condensed rose petals, soft red plums, minty herbs and wet soil show on the approachable nose of this bottling. From the oldest, massal selected vines planted in the '50s and '60s in Damien Hugot's estate in the grand crus of Oiry and Cramant, this 100% Chardonnay Champagne is one of the richest examples of blanc de blancs in our stock. His old vineyards have given this wine a breadth and a texture that remind me more than a little of Meursault. I love the well baked baguette aromas as well as the subtle pineapple fruit on the elegant, supple palate. The best part is the finish — not only does this wine have good lift and brightness, it also has a salty, chalky mi...

Juicy and pliant in the mouth, offering smoky black raspberry, cherry cola, vanilla and cracked pepper flavors that deepen steadily on the back half. In an energetic style, showing fine clarity and silky tannins that frame a long, focused finish. Raised in French and American oak barrels for 18 months. 92 points James Suckling: "This wine offers some notes of cherries and tobacco leaves. Black pepper, too. Medium-to full-bodied with a slightly austere and chewy tannin structure. Yet, it’s balanced and fresh with a warming finish. Generous yet firm. This needs food. Drink now." (11/2019) 91 points Wine Spectator: "Tightly built yet retains a sense of refinement, offering blackberry, stony mineral and spiced cinnamon flavors, finishing with slightly taut tannins. Delicious and loaded with personality, the enveloping palate doles out juicy black cherry, raspberry jam and star anise alongside earthy hints of truffle and game. Tightly knit, fine-grained tannins provide the framework. Drink after 2025. Offering a massive array of orange peel, honey, marmalade, flowers, and toasted nuts, this incredible wine hits the palate with a thunderous display of opulence, richness, and length, all while staying fresh, elegant, and seamless. Decadent with dark-chocolate flavors and rustic tannnins, but there’s a fine line of acidity to drive this to a tidy if silty finish. " (10/2019) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Aromas of fragrant purple flower, crushed mint and woodland berry mingle with a whiff of dark spice. 94 points Wine Advocate: "A more modern Gran Reserva from a single vineyard, the 2015 Finca Iscorta de Peciña Gran Reserva was produced with the grapes from a 50-year-old vineyard, fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel with a moderate extraction and short-ish maceration. It matured in used American oak barrels for four years and was racked every six months. It's a little darker, the color and the fruit profile, and it's intensely balsamic, with notes of camphor and abundant spicy notes. It's solid and seamless and fills your mouth; it's pow...

94 points Jeb Dunnuck: "The 2015 Zinfandel Pagani Ranch is 83% Zinfandel 10% Alicante Bouschet, and the balance Petite Sirah, all from the Sonoma Valley. This ripe, sexy, flamboyant beauty gives up a huge nose of sweet plums, melted licorice, violets, and dried herbs. The palate delivers a very assertive and energetic array of dark berries and spiced plums with a fresh, focused, vibrant finish. Superb wine. Try from 2023." (02/2018) 94 points Decanter: "I love this from the first nose. " (02/2018) 92 points Decanter: "A highly enjoyable wine from the Ducru Beaucaillou stable, which performed well in 2015. This is a little softer on the mid-palate than the 2016 vintage, but is a good value, fleshy and juicy expression of St-Julien with plenty to enjoy. 95 points Jane Anson: "This style of vintage really suits Gloria, with its cheerful, exuberant character, silky tannins and clear power. You'll find plenty of precision and bite through the blueberry and cassis fruits, excellent quality, bright, bristling and full of life. The signature of St Julien comes through, and this is softly spoken but with quiet confidence, layering on slate and gunsmoke edges on the finish." The 2015 checks in as a blend of 75% Grenache, 13% Mourvèdre, 8% Touriga Nacional and the rest Petite Sirah, fermented with 44% whole clusters (all from the Grenache and Mourvèdre) and aged close to two years in mostly used barrel. Exuberant fruit and striking mid-palate richness give the wine much of its immediacy and sheer appeal. Today, the 2015 is naturally very primary, but it is both hugely delicious and promising. Lavender, licorice, black cherry, crème de cassis and plum explode onto the dramatic, baritone-inflected finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. This is a classic Brunello, with one foot firmly planted in a sense of place and the other in varietal purity. You really can't ask for more in a world-class Brunello such as this, hailing from a highly ranked vintage. Thanks to the sunny and warm growing season, the fiber and texture of this wine is a little looser and thicker compared to the cooler 2013 vintage.
