2012 Camiana "Blue Hall Vineyard" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon (Previously $100) (Previously $100)
Top Pick!
Blue Hall Vineyard's three acres sit atop Howell Mountain at 1700 feet of elevation. As winemaker Ted Osborne puts it, "Howell Mountain is one of the world’s rare winegrowing regions that consistently over delivers on quality. And this vineyard is a particular gem. The yields are ridiculously low, and the concentration of flavors in the resulting wines is jawdropping." The wine itself is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, a mix of clones 7 and 337, and is aged in 100% French oak for two years.

97 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Aida Estate (850 cases), is sensational and about as profound as Napa Cabernet can be. A wine of great intensity, inky purple color, notes of penny, graphite, blackberry and cassis, with a background of wet rock-minerality. The wine is dense, full-bodied, powerful and capable of lasting another 20-25 years. (RP)" (10/2014) 91-93 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Ripe aromas of cassis, black raspberry, licorice, dark chocolate and minerals, complicated by gunpowder a...

About the producer: "Robin Daniel Lail’s heritage began in 1879 with the founding of Inglenook Vineyards by her great -granduncle, the iconic Captain Gustav Niebaum. By the early 1890s, this brilliant man’s obsession for achieving the pinnacle of excellence earned Inglenook wines the status of being considered by many as the finest produced in the country. The determination to achieve excellence was carried forward through the decades following Niebaum’s death in 1908, with a crescendo in the thirty years following the repeal of Prohibition under the m...

2012 Frank Family "Patriarch" Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Patriarch is the soaring superstar of the vintage. Blueberry, incense, graphite and blackberry notes that are incredibly precise and intense jump from the glass of this inky/purple wine. It is full-bodied, opulent and has a broad, savory mouthfeel. This is outrageous Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. (RP)" (10/2014) 96 points Wine Spectator: "An amazingly seductive style, rich, smooth and creamy on entry, with mocha, dark berry and blueberry notes rounding out nicely midpalate. Ends with a lo...

2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (scuffed label)
98 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Nearly as prodigious is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard, which is Clone 4 and Clone 6 blended together from the Beckstoffer to Kalon Vineyard, this is the highest in alcohol of the 2012s at 14.6%. It was aged in a combination of 50% new Darnajou and 50% new Taransaud barrels. This wine is one of the tighter, more backward of the 2012s, with more structure, tannin, muscle, a masculine personality, oodles of black and blue fruits and a massive mouthfeel, but is somehow much more primary an...

2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer To Kalon - T6" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (lightly bin-soiled label)
95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard T6, which is from Clone 6 in a different block of Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard, is aged in 86% new Darnajou and 14% new Taransaud. This wine is not terribly different, but Clone 6 is believed to be old Bordeaux clones brought over to Napa Valley and propagated. The wine has terrific fruit intensity, blackcurrants, blackberry, licorice, creosote and espresso roast. Deep, full-bodied, powerful and rich, this, again, shows the vintage’s voluptuous texture, f...

2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (lightly bin-soiled label)
96 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III Vineyard, from this famous vineyard in Rutherford, is made from Cabernet Sauvignon Clone 337, and 90% new Darnajou and 10% new Taransaud was used. One of the smaller cuveés, the wine has great intensity, with chocolaty cassis notes, fruitcake and forest floor along with licorice and spice. This is a big full-bodied, powerful, rich, yet accessible style of wine, as most 2012s tend to be. (RP)" (10/2014) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Bold, rich and focused on a cor...

2012 Schrader "Beckstoffer Las Piedras - LPV" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (scuffed label)
98 points James Suckling: "A very rich and dense red with blueberry and chocolate character. Full-bodied, very silky and refined. Wonderful depth and length. Held back and pretty. Elegance and beauty for a Schrader. " (07/2015) 95 points Wine Spectator: "Starts out bold and assertive, with rich dark berry, cedar and nutmeg flavors, revealing touches of espresso, mocha and melted black licorice. (JL)" (05/2015) 94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard LPV is black/ruby, shows lots of charco...

2012 Charles Krug (Peter Mondavi) "Family Reserve" Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
92 points James Suckling: "Aromas of sweet tobacco, black currant and hints of asphalt or lead pencil. Full body, firm and silky tannins and a delicious finish. Polished tannins here. Drink or hold." (07/2015) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Family Reserve is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Howell Mountain. Notes of graphite, charcoal and earth set it apart from the 2012 Generations. It also offers notes of mocha, blackcurrants and black cherries in its rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced personality. It...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Bordeaux-styled 2012 Proprietary Red Right Bank is a blend of 58% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon. This soft, consumer-friendly red exhibits lots of plump black cherry fruit, velvety tannins, and a medium-bodied, easygoing mouthfeel. (RP)" (12/2014)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Clew, which is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is an impressively crafted blue/purple wine with plenty of black raspberry, blackcurrant fruit, licorice, incense and camphor. The wine is full-bodied and well put together, with sweet tannin, decent acidity and terrific richness. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. (RP)" (10/2014) 93 points Vinous: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Clew is another wine built on texture and pure power, with generous notes of blueberry jam, cloves, new leather, spice...

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Snakepit Red Blend is composed of 88% Merlot and 12% Malbec. It cuts a broader swath across the palate, and offers more depth, richness, blueberry and blackcurrant fruit, an attractive hint of oak, medium body and good concentration. (RP)" (12/2014)
Price: $54.99

92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon shows lots of Pauillac-like crème de cassis, cedar wood, forest floor and fruitcake. There’s a touch of white chocolate, a nice influence of spicy and the wine is full-bodied, fleshy and opulent. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Realm "Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (100RP, 99JS, 95VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, Realm’s perfect 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard exhibits a La Mission Haut-Brion-like bouquet of blueberries, scorched earth, burning embers and spring flowers, a dense, opulent, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a staggeringly long, multidimensional, 60-second finish. It can be drunk with enormous pleasure now, but promises to evolve for at least a quarter of a century. For historical buffs, the Dr. Crane Vineyard is named after a real doctor, who first planted the vineyard in 1858. In the 1920s, this small area was once considered the home of migrant Chinese workers. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Far Niente Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (96DC, 94RP, 94WE, 93VN, 92JS). Decanter: "The justly admired Oakville winery has been a Napa Valley fixture since 1979, when it was founded by the late Gil Nickel. From the outset the winemaker has been Dirk Hampson, though today he keeps a knowing eye on the winery’s young winemaking team. But his steady presence, as well as that of the Nickel family, has ensured a consistency of style over the decades. Today all wines are estate-grown, and the vineyards are close to Martha’s Vineyard and other iconic sites. This wine is aged for 17 months in more than 80% new oak, and is always rich and polished."
Starting Bid: $122.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Realm "The Bard" Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (100JD, 99RP, 94VN). Jeb Dunnuck: "Starting with the 2012 The Bard, this incredible blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot comes from a number of great sites including To Kalon, Dr. Crane, Fortuna, and Weitz. It’s just now starting to show some maturity and has a wonderfully complex bouquet of blackcurrants, dried spices, chocolate, cedarwood, and smoke tobacco. This carries to a full-bodied, seamless, sensationally textured 2012 with sweet tannins, no hard edges, and a heavenly finish. It actually reminds me slightly of the 2009 Haut Bailly!" (08/2020)
Starting Bid: $205.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Quivet "Pellet Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (93JD, 93RP, 93VN). Vinous: "Violets, lavender, smoke, plums and licorice are all laced together in the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Pellet Vineyard. This is an especially lifted, aromatic wine for this part of St. Helena, where vineyards sites are generally quite warm. Even with all of its obvious ripeness and raciness, the Pellet remains precise, nuanced and strikingly beautiful. This is a terrific showing from Quivet and winemaker Mike Smith. (AG)" (12/2014)
Starting Bid: $90.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Opus One Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend (97DC, 97JS, 96RP, 95VN, 93WS). James Suckling: "Glorious purity of fruit here with blackcurrants, blueberries, dark chocolate, fresh herbs and forest floor. Hints of mint. Full body, seamless tannins and wonderful balance. Tight and compacted tannins with beautiful fruit and great length. Hazelnut and chocolate. Goes on for minutes. One of the best Opus in years. Compacted and beautiful." (04/2015)
Starting Bid: $295.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Realm "Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 96JS, 94VN, 93WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon emerges from another first-growth vineyard that was acquired by Andy Beckstoffer in 1993, and planted with multiple clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and a small amount of Cabernet Franc. The original vineyard was planted in 1868, but the present one consists of nearly 90 acres. The 2012 reveals incredible complexity and density with notes of Christmas fruitcake, baking spices, licorice, crème de cassis and forest floor. Full-bodied with the vintage’s opulence and drama, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon was fashioned from Clones 4 and 337. (RP) 97+" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $440.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (91DC). Decanter: "Most in Napa regarded this vintage as exceptional, with well-timed rainfall and ideal summer weather but many wines turned out over-plush. This one is ripe and appealing, with generous fruit, an open character despite its concentration and power, and a round softness. Oak is still showing, and I admit I preferred the Alexander Valley. (EM)" (09/2019)
Starting Bid: $200.50

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Ridge Vineyards "Monte Bello" Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon (98VN, 96JS, 96RP, 94DC, 94WS, 93W&S). Vinous: "The 2012 Monte Bello is one of the most harmonious young Monte Bellos I can remember tasting. Seamless and voluptuous through to the finish, the 2012 is showing beautifully today. Raspberry jam, pomegranate, white flowers, mint and spices are some of the many notes that flesh out in the glass. A wine with a distinctly red-hued profile, silky tannins, no hard edges and exceptional overall balance, the 2012 Monte Bello is simply magnificent. The 2012 is racy but also impeccably balanced throughout, with shades of the 2001 that come through from time to time. I won't be surprised if the 2013 and 2014 both eventually surpass it, but there is no denying that the 2012 is simply stunning today. This is one of the best showings yet for the 2012. (AG)" (07/2015)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Stag's Leap Wine Cellars "Cask 23" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP, 95DC, 93WE, 93WS, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Cask 23 reveals more oak on the nose, but is a much deeper, richer, fuller wine than the S.L.V. Dense ruby/purple to the rim, beautiful blackberry and cassis fruit, cedar wood, toast and earth jump from the glass. Full-bodied and layered, but with nothing out of balance, this is probably the strongest Cask 23 since the glory years of the mid-80s. Look for this wine to drink well young, yet age effortlessly for 25 years. (RP)" (12/2015)
Starting Bid: $310.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2012 Grassi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (92JS, 92RP, 92VN, 92WS). Vinous: "Dark blue and purplish fruit, spices, cloves, menthol and cedar are some of the many notes that flesh out as Grassi's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon shows off its open, engaging personality. This is a gorgeous, supple 2012 built on fruit, texture and exuberance, all of which make it an excellence choice for drinking over the next decade or so. Best of all, Grassi's 2012 is a terrific value in artisan, hand-made Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. (AG)" (12/2014)
Starting Bid: $200.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Bevan "Ontogeny" Oakville Bordeaux Blend (95RP, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Ontogeny Red Wine is a blend of mainly Cabernet Sauvignon with lesser portions of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Deep garnet in color with a touch brick, it wafts from the glass with a fragrant perfume of Morello cherries, spice cake and preserved plums, plus underlying suggestions of cigar box, tree bark and pencil lead. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers maturing black and red fruit preserves layers with loads of spicy sparks and a chewy texture, finishing long with a compelling lift. (LPB)" (02/2021)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Shafer "One Point Five" Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon (94JS, 94RP, 94WE, 93VN, 92CG, 92WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon One Pint Five is a big-time winner, a blend of almost all Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Malbec and Petit Verdot. The wine has an opaque bluish/purple color, almost indigo, and is full-bodied with dense chocolaty crème de cassis notes, licorice and a touch of minerality. The wine has well-integrated wood, is full and seems balanced and rich enough to age for two decades or more. Year in year out, this is one of the superstar wineries, not only in Napa Valley and all of California, but in the entire world. (RP)" (10/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rivers-Marie "Panek Vineyard" St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon (97RP, 92VN, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Panek Vineyard (14.4% alcohol) was aged in 70% new oak. Made from four Cabernet clones (Clones 169, 7, 4 and 6), it comes from a vineyard on the valley floor at the end of the Aida Vineyard that Vineyard 29 has made famous. Copious notes of earth, charcoal embers, wet gravel, garrigue, blackberry and blackcurrants are accompanied by a long, deep wine with sweet tannins, a fabulous mouthfeel, an opulent, velvety texture, and tremendous length as well as richness. Drink it over the next two decades. (RP)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $185.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Caymus "40th Anniversary" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (96RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. Amazing! (RP)" (10/2014)
Starting Bid: $530.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Quivet "Kenefick Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94JD, 93RP, 91WS). Jeb Dunnuck: "Lots of cassis, lead pencil, green tobacco, and lavender notes emerge from the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Kenefick Ranch Vineyard. It’s a full-bodied, ripe, yet balanced, and lively Cabernet that knocks it out of the park on all accounts. With terrific concentration, remarkable purity and elegance, building tannins, and a still youthful style, it actually reminds me more of a 2013 than a 2012." (03/2020)
Starting Bid: $110.00
