100 points Jeb Dunnuck: "Pure perfection in Syrah, the 2012 Ermitage Le Pavillon comes from the pure granite soils of the Les Bessards lieu-dit and was brought up in around 30-35% new demi-muids. This blockbuster yet magical wine offers everything: incredible aromatics, huge richness and intensity, no sensation of weight or heaviness, and a finish that just goes on and on. With lots of sweet dark cassis and raspberry fruit, it has an almost Méal-like sexiness yet shows more and more minerality as well as tannins on the finish. It’s a quintessential, awes...

93 points Vinous: "(vinified with 100% whole clusters; from vines that were planted in 1911 and 1913): Saturated ruby. Ripe dark berries, candied plum and violet oil on the highly perfumed mineral- and smoke-accented nose. Supple and broad, offering palate-staining black raspberry and floral pastille flavors and a touch of white pepper. Finishes very long, spicy and floral, leaving a gently sweet blue fruit note behind. (JR)" (02/2015) 91 points Wine & Spirits: "Balthazar blends this wine from two vineyards, one of centenary vines he bought from his un...

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Rouge (98DC, 96JD, (94-95VN), 95WS). Decanter: "There's a new-leather note to the blackberry fruit. It's full-bodied, exceptionally smooth on your tongue. Great concentration but also great freshness. Acidity is perfectly balanced, this is a Hermitage of great liveliness, pep and freshness. Very long finish. The alcohol isn't low, but it's balanced. Long finish. An exceptional wine in the making. (MW)" (09/2021)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Alban "Reva" Edna Valley Syrah (97RP, 95WS, 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 750 cases (which means good yields for John, although any normal person would call 1.5-1.75 tons per acre financial suicide) of the 2012 Syrah Reva Alban Estate Vineyard, and it's a terrific vintage for this cuvee. Elegant, pretty, even finesse driven, with its classic marine and salty bouquet of smoke, purple fruits, olives and violets, this full-bodied Syrah has no hard edges, integrated acidity and a great finish. After the cool, and then cold, 2010 and 2011 vintages, 2012 through 2014 is a return to the more generous, layered and voluptuous style of wine that this estate is known for. (JD)" (08/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Cayuse "Bionic Frog" Walla Walla Valley Syrah (99RP, 96WE, 95VN, 94WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "While a lot of the 2012s came in near the bottom of the barrel score, that wasn't the case with the 2012 Syrah Bionic Frog and this beauty flirts with perfection. Inky colored and purple to the rim, it offers extraordinary notes of black fruits, wild mushrooms, smoked earth and salty minerality. (JD)" (06/2015)
Starting Bid: $525.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Marie et Pierre Benetiere "Cordeloux" Côte-Rôtie (91VN). Vinous: "Bright purple. Ripe dark berry and violet aromas are lifted and sharpened by notes of cracked pepper and smoky minerals. On the palate, gently sweet, deep black and blue fruit flavors pick up energy and spiciness with aeration. Finishes on a gently tannic note, with strong smoky persistence. (JR)" (02/2015)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 E. Guigal "La Landonne" Côte-Rôtie (100RP, 98WS, 97JS, 96DC, 95VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The utterly perfect 2012 Côte Rôtie La Landonne is the star of three single vineyards in 2012. Possessing an off-the-charts sexiness in its layered, concentrated and full-bodied style, it has a wealth of fruit, ripe tannin, a stacked mid-palate and pedal-to-the-metal notes of black fruits, scorched earth, caramelized meats and crushed rocks. While this cuvée normally needs a decade to become drinkable, there’s a sweetness of fruit here that allows it to offer incredible pleasure even today. Nevertheless, give bottles 5-6 years and enjoy over the following three decades. (JD)" (12/2016)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Lewis Cellars Napa Valley Syrah (95WS). Wine Spectator: "A gorgeous Syrah, rich and polished, with a dense, tightly focused core of blackberry and wild berry, shaded by subtle touches of cedar, black licorice, game meat, road tar and mocha. The flavors weave together in the end. *Highly Recommended* (JL)" (10/2014)

Bid on this bottle of 2012 E. Guigal "La Mouline" Côte-Rôtie (97RP, 96WS, 95DC, 95JS, 94VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2012 Côte Rôtie La Mouline reminds me of the 2011 with its upfront, incredibly perfumed nose of spring flowers, cured meats, roasted herbs, olives and sweet cassis fruit. Full-bodied, beautifully textured, mouth-filling and already impossible to resist, it expands on the palate and I guarantee this beauty will put a smile on your face anytime over the coming two decades. (JD)" (12/2016)
Starting Bid: $275.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine Clusel Roch "Les Grandes Places" Côte-Rôtie (94VN). Vinous: "Opaque ruby. Blackberry, candied plum, cassis, licorice, bitter chocolate and potpourri on the complex, intensely perfumed nose. Dense, concentrated and seamless on the palate, offering primary black and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors and a smoky mineral accent that adds back-end vivacity. Finishes with broad, supple tannins, an echo of licorice and outstanding mineral-driven persistence. (JR)" (02/2015)
