92-95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Generous if not dominant wood serve as a not-so-subtle backdrop to the intensely sauvage and spicy red currant, cassis, plum and pungently earth aromas. The attractively textured and mouth coating large-scaled flavors enjoy copious amounts of palate coating and tannin-buffering dry extract along with plenty of minerality that adds lift to the imposingly structured finish. This massive effort is very definitely old school and there will be no point in opening this before at least a decade of aging has occurred. *Do...

95 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the nose is similar to the regular cuvée from a compositional standpoint but the fruit is denser, slightly riper and more complex as well. The very concentrated broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent concentration as the copious dry extract both coats the palate and buffers the extremely firm tannic spine on the explosively long but impeccably well-balanced finish. This is distinctly old school in style and will require extended cellaring to arrive at its peak. I would not recommend buying this ultra-serious...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A subtle touch of wood sets off ripe and relatively elegant notes of earth, dark cherry and spice. The mid-palate is dense, serious and powerful with plenty of mouth coating sap that helps to buffer the very firm tannic spine on the moderately austere, backward and built-to-age finale. While this is presently backward it should be approachable after 6 to 8 years of bottle age though note that it should live for a very long time. For readers having a child or grandchild in 2012 this would be a good choice to buy in qu...

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Pierre Labet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes ((89-91VN), 89BH). Vinous: "Good bright, dark red. Very ripe aromas and flavors of raspberry, coffee and smoked meat. Sweet, silky and highly concentrated, with ripeness bordering on roasted. Finishes fat, rich and persistent. Will this bring enough verve into the bottle?" (01/2014)
Starting Bid: $150.00

Bid on this bottle of 2012 Domaine Dujac Clos de la Roche Grand Cru (96JG, (94-96RP), 96VN, 95BH, 93ST). Vinous: "Dujac's 2012 Clos de La Roche bristles with palpable energy and intensity. One of the more polished wines in the range, the Clos de la Roche is all about saline-infused energy and brilliance today. I very much like the precision here, but time has shown that the Clos de la Roche only starts to blossom with considerable bottle age. Today, the layers of dimension are present, but also compacted. In a few years, the 2012 will be truly magical. (AG)" (04/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Calera "de Villiers Vineyard" Mt. Harlan Pinot Noir (95RP, 93WE, 92VN, 91WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "I loved the 2012 Pinot Noir de Villiers. It's a beautifully complete, balanced and satisfying Pinot Noir that does everything right. Giving up tons of sweet black raspberry and strawberry fruits, spice-box, dried flowers and potpourri characteristics, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, with a ripe, supple texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. While there's more than enough fruit to keep this enjoyable now, there's some solid tannin and depth in there as well, so it will age. (JD)" (08/2015)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Paul Hobbs "Katherine Lindsay Estate" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (96WE, 94RP, 94VN, 92ST, 92WS, 91CG). Wine Enthusiast: "Still tight, and expertly crafted and structured, this single-vineyard estate wine is meticulous in velvety, plush texture, completely seductive at every angle. Rich red cherry, pomegranate and vanilla improvise against one another without ever missing a beat, finishing in fully integrated flavor. *Cellar Selection* (VB)" (11/2015)

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Domaine Drouhin "Laurène" Dundee Hills Pinot Noir (OWC - 93DC, 93JG, 93VN, 92BH, 92RP, 92W&S, 92WS) in original wood. Vinous: "Bright ruby. Heady red and dark fruit liqueur, candied rose, allspice and woodsmoke scents show excellent clarity and a complicating hint of licorice. Palate-staining blackberry and spicecake flavors open nicely in the middle palate, picking up floral pastille and cola nuances and a hint of black tea. Rich and broad but energetic too, finishing with powerful spicy thrust and velvety tannins. (JR)" (07/2014)

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2012 Joseph Phelps "Pastorale Vineyard" Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir (93RP, 93WE, 92ST, 92VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Even deeper than the Freestone Vineyards Pinot is the 2012 Pinot Noir Pastorale Vineyard (under 14% alcohol). Its dense ruby hue is followed by a beautiful floral element. Readers will adore the black cherry, plym, clove-infused fruit and relatively full-bodied texture. This is the well-researched and well-funded Joseph Phelps project eight miles from the Pacific Ocean, on the western frontier of the Sonoma Coast. In pursuit of great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Phelps planted his vineyards in the Goldridge soils with a cool, windy climate. (RP)" (12/2014)

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Rochioli "Three Corner" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ((94-96RP), 93VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "From a 3.5-acre parcel, the 2012 Pinot Noir Three Corners is staggering. A phenomenal bouquet of kirsch, black raspberries, black currants, graphite and lavender soars from the glass of this full-bodied, opulent, stunningly rich Pinot. Most knowledgeable people in the wine world have enormous respect for the integrity, honesty and exceptionally high quality of the wines emanating from the Rochioli Vineyards in the Russian River area. Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2012 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru "Célébration - 153rd Anniversary Cuvee" (92BH, 92VN). Vinous: "Jadot’s 2012 Beaune 1er Cru Celebration is aromatically quite expressive, with lovely bright, floral notes that play off a core of red berry and stone fruits. The gracious, almost feminine, bouquet is alluring and suggests a wine that is quite open, but the palate sensation is completely different. Tiny yields and high skin to juice ratios yielded red Burgundies with huge tannic clout that obscures the fruit, which is exactly how the wine comes across in tasting. It will be interesting to see if the 2012 softens over time, or if it gains volume with aging. Today, it is decidedly on the austere side of things. (AG)" (03/2018)
Starting Bid: $100.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 2012 Melville "Sandy's" Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir (96RP, 94VN, 93W&S). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The most fruit-forward in the lineup, the 2012 Pinot Noir Sandy’s was mostly destemmed (60%) and saw only neutral oak barrels for 18 months. Cassis, black raspberry, sweet spice, violets and hints of rose petal all show here, and it hits the palate with fabulous purity of fruit, loads of texture and a terrific finish. It’s another rock-star Pinot Noir from Greg that checks in near the top of the vintage. (JD)" (08/2014)
