Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru "Les Vaucrains" (95JG, (92-95ST), (91-94BH), 94RP). John Gilman: "I had worries that the Vaucrains would have a difficult time following the profound showing of the 2006 Les St. Georges, but never mind. This too is a great wine in the making, as it offers up a brilliant blend of pure cherry fruit, blood orange, plums, vinesmoke, a great base of very minerally soil tones (particularly for young Vaucrains) and a deft framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, tangy and structured, with fine mid-palate depth, great acids, ripe, substantial tannins and great grip and focus on the very long, impressively transparent finish. This will probably need a few more years of bottle age to blossom than the Les St. Georges, but in the end it will be at least as stunning, and may even edge it out at the wire." (12/2007)
Starting Bid: $110.00
