92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An expressive, spicy and relatively high-toned nose of both red and black pinot fruit that is terrifically complex introduces fresh, intense and notably mineral-driven medium full flavors blessed with plenty of dry extract that lends a real sense of body and fullness to the firm and vibrant finish underpinned by a lovely feeling of tension and punch. Interestingly, the tannins are slightly less refined than those of the Echézeaux but it matches it in virtually ever other category. This may very well be the best vinta...

2006 DRC Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Echèzeaux Grand Cru
Back In Stock!
92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Just as it was from the very beginning the expressive nose of maturing red and black fruit is markedly floral in character with a plethora of spice and earth nuances. There is good richness to the round and delicious middle weight flavors that possess an attractively textured and punchy finish that delivers good if not truly special depth and length. I very much like the overall sense of balance and about the only nit is a trace of backend warmth. This is approaching its initial drinking window though for my taste th...

2006 Domaine Faiveley Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru
91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is discreetly wooded with an elegant, cool, reserved and stony red Pinot fruit nose that offers a beautiful variety of layers where the following energetic medium-bodied flavors also brim with an intense minerality and excellent detail on the driving and tension-filled finish. This is wonderfully alive and altogether classic in style and like the Clos de Vougeot, this will require up to two decades to reach its full potential. A stunner fashioned in an old school style. *Don't Miss!* " (01/2008) 92 poin...

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Arlaud Clos De La Roche Grand Cru ((91-93BH), 91JG, 90ST). Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An earthy, ripe, expressive and more complex nose combines dark berry fruit and notes of earth, spice, leather and underbrush that highlight the complex, concentrated and round flavors that possess solid if not truly sensational power and fine balance on the exquisitely long finish. This is clearly a step up in quality." (01/2008)
Starting Bid: $311.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2006 Gérard Raphet Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes Cuvée Unique (91RP, 90BH). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The Raphet 2006 Clos de la Roche – as occasionally happens with their rendition of this site – displays a striking personality. With completely unexpectedly, savage intensity, it smells of pungent wood smoke with herbal distillate, kirsch, framboise, as well as their fresh fruit and herb counterparts. Crushed stone, tart fruit skin, cyanic fruit pits, and medicinal iodine and bitter herbs accent fresh, ripe berries on the palate, and this finishes with impressive raw intensity of tart fruit, herbs and minerals, though interestingly – for now – without any notable carnal dimension. (DS)" (12/2009)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 5-bottle lot of 2006 Gérard Raphet Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru "Cuvée Unique". Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A very subtle trace of wood frames a very Pinot red raspberry fruit nose nuanced with hints of spice, earth and that typical Gevrey sauvage character that can also be found on the rich, full and slightly deeper medium-bodied flavors that are rich and sweet. The finish is relatively firm but this feels as though it will harmonize and round out quickly." (01/2008)
Starting Bid: $400.00

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2006 Domaine Marius Delarche Corton-Renardes Grand Cru Réserve Vieilles Vignes. Domaine Marius Delarche is a not-so-well-known name that occupies a small slice of the very famous hill of Corton. Established in the 1940s, the estate is now operated by Etienne Delarche, farming some 9 hectares in the villages of Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. The estate has been called, by a wine importer, "Certainly the Côte de Beaune’s best-kept secret—gorgeous wines made by an honest winemaker for prices that reminded of decades past."The old vines of the Corton-Renardes were planted near the summit of the noble hill of Corton around the 1950s. Look for a brooding and layered character, with notes of licorice and peppery spice.
Starting Bid: $105.00

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Clos St-Jacques" (94RP, (91-93BH), 91ST). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Smoky, resinous, bitter-sweet herbal, as well as blue and black fruits scent the Clair 2006 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos St.-Jacques, which then comes to the fine-grained, buoyant palate loaded with luscious, ripe purple plum, blueberry, and blackberry; exotic (orchid-like?) inner-mouth floral perfume; and myriad hard-to-describe intimations of things mineral. The dynamic of flavors here is extraordinarily persistent, and the longer it was open to the air, the more impressive the wine became. (DS)" (12/2009)
