90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An herb-infused blue and red berry fruit nose that is less obviously ripe than that of the Hillside Cuvée leads to delicious and seriously complex medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a firmly structured finish of impressive length. This is delicious yet reserved and clearly built to age over the medium term....I toured the vineyards located in the Santa Cruz Mountains and they are indeed spectacular and if you have the chance to visit, I highly recommend it. There are varying percentages of destemming but most wi...

2006 Littorai "Savoy Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Back In Stock!
90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Though this does not have the densest fruit in the range, it is the most elegant with lovely purity to the cranberry, strawberry and red Pinot fruit nose that is followed by detailed, indeed almost delicate flavors that have a lacy quality to them right until the finish where a dose of wood tannins arrives. I like this and the tannins should integrate in time..." (10/2009) Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red with an amber edge. Candied raspberry and strawberry on the slightly diffuse nose. Round...

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Wild, reduced nose offers musky smoked meat lifted by citrus zest. Sweet and pliant, with an open-knit texture and an intriguing smoky/flinty quality. Not especially complex or gripping but boasts impressive fat and palate presence. Finishes with sweet, lush tannins and excellent length. (ST)" (06/2008) K&L Notes: Founder and winemaker of Littorai, Ted Lemon was the first American to be hired to work as a winemaker in Burgundy in the 1980s. He transitioned his California estate vineyar...

91 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Medium red. Spicy cherry, smoke and flint on the nose. Juicy, spicy and tightly wound, with penetrating flavors of red fruits, minerals and Asian spices. Suave, scented wine with lovely floral, spicy persistence. Fresh, young and in need of a couple years of patience. (ST) 91+" (05/2008)

Bid on this bottle of 2006 Domaine Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru "Les Fontenys" (91RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Plum and tart cherry ally themselves to charred meat and chalk in the Roty 2006 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Fontenys. A fine deposit of tannin across the palate in no way blunts a sense of penetration and vivacity. This finishes with smoky intensity, ripe yet tart fruit skin, and myriad mineral nuances. A sparer and far less winsome wine than most of those in the present collection, it seems to want at least 2-3 years in bottle but will probably come across well for the better part of a decade. It took more than an hour open in a glass for this to really display subtle mineral and carnal complexity, and even so, it doesn't for now register quite the sense of class difference that one has come to expect, or that this year's renditions from Clair and Serafin already display. (DS)" (12/2009)
