Didier and Martine Lemorton have a wonderful farm. About one hundred cows fill their barn and orchards of pear and apple trees surround it. You can tell a lot about their lifestyle by shaking their hands.Their palms are hard and calloused from the hard manual labor they perform on a daily basis. They've never been on an airplane and they've never had a day off. Their Lemorton Calvados comes from the southern appellation of Domfrontais and in this appellation at least 30% of the cider in the Calvados must be made from pears. The 1980 vintage uses some of ...

Bid on this bottle of 1980 Col d'Orcia Brunello di Montalcino. The Col D'Orcia estate is one of the oldest companies of Montalcino, being present in 1933 with the name "Fattoria di Sant'Angelo in Colle" at the First Exhibition of Italian wines held in Siena, with three vintages of Brunello. The origin of the estate dates back to the first half of the 18th century when the noble family Delle Ciaia of Siena established an estate in the area of Sant'Angelo in Colle which increased year by year. In the second half of the nineteenth century, the ownership was passed to the Servadio family and subsequently to the Franceschi family. In 1973, Count Alberto Marone Cinzano took over the company, with the aim to contribute to the development and success of Montalcino and its Brunello on world markets.

Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 1980 Beaulieu Vineyard "Georges de Latour Private Reserve" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (94RP, 91VN). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "1980 was a longer, cooler growing season, producing wines of moderate alcohol and great freshness. Medium to deep brick colored, the 1980 Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve Georges de Latour opens with provocative cherry cordial, vanilla pod and cardamom scents over a core of mincemeat pie, dried lavender, black tea and camphor plus a touch of bacon fat. Medium-bodied with just 13% alcohol, the mouth is firmly textured with ripe, grainy tannins, lively acid and layers of pure dried berries and exotic spices, finishing on a mint tea note. With the fruit and tannins still hanging in there, there's no great rush to drink well-preserved bottles of this vintage. (LPB)" (05/2019)

Bid on this magnum of 1980 Silver Oak "Bonny's Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon (1.5L). Bonny's Vineyard was planted by Silver Oak founders Bonny and Justin Meyer in 1974 on a gravelly, four-acre plot in the Oakville district of Napa Valley. It was a much-heralded bottling for Silver Oak over the course of two decades, and the vineyard is now bottled under its own label by the Meyers. A rare addition to any Silver Oak collection.
