92 points Wine Spectator: "No tasting note given." (10/1989) K&L Notes: The Lynch-Bages vineyards are located on the Bages plateau, one of the great terroirs of the Pauillac appellation. The estate, once belonging to the Lynch family of Irish descent, passed to Jean-Charles Cazes in 1934. Jean-Michel Cazes, his grandson, restructured the estate in 1974 by upgrading the winemaking equipment, but kept the former wooden vats in order to preserve the estate's history.

92 points Wine Advocate: "An excellent 1978 (one of the top wines of the vintage), Pichon-Lalande's offering displays an aromatic profile consisting of roasted herbs, chocolate, cedar, tobacco, and ripe curranty fruit. Medium-bodied, with low acidity, some tannin, and a round, attractive personality... (RP)" (01/1998) 92 points Wine Spectator: "Fully mature, with a slightly juicy feel to the cedar, singed vanilla, blood orange, clove, tobacco, dried currant and cherry fruit flavors. Long, fine-grained tannins let an echo of iron linger. Not fully ripe,...

Bid on this bottle of 1978 Mouton Rothschild, Pauillac (92WS, 90RP). Wine Spectator: "Supple yet strong willed, this is mature enough for drinking now, with chocolate, cherry, violet, vanilla and raspberry notes." (05/1991)
Current Bid: $325.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1978 Pichon-Lalande, Pauillac (94VN, 93JG, 93RP, 92TWI, 92WS). Vinous: "A host of Cabernet Sauvignon-infused aromas make a strong opening statement in the 1978 Pichon Lalande. There is certainly no shortage of power or character. If anything, the 1978 is perhaps a bit lacking in mid-palate depth, which gives it an element of austerity. Aside from that small critique, the 1978 is deeply expressive and gorgeous. (AG)" (10/2017)
Current Bid: $360.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1978 Latour, Pauillac (92WS, 90RP, 90VN). Wine Spectator: "A sleek and racy wine. Ruby-amber color. Aromas of cedar, cigar box, tobacco, mint and mushrooms, with hints of red fruits, follow though to a medium body with fine tannins and a long, silky finish. (JS)" (08/2000)
Starting Bid: $900.00

Bid on this 6-bottle lot of 1978 Grand-Puy-Lacoste, Pauillac. Vinous: "The 1978 Grand-Puy-Lacoste has a ferrous bouquet, fully mature of course, with fresh mint, potpourri and lavender notes. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity and slightly dry tannins. It is pretty meaty with dried blood and black pepper, attenuating just a little on the finish. (NM)" (12/2022)
