Wine Spectator: "In excellent condition, ripe and balanced, with tasty cherry and currant, turning elegant. (JL, Web-2001) " K&L Notes: This bottle from Napa Valley's historic Inglenook Vineyard was produced just after the winery's sale to Allied Grape Grower - and a string of memorable vintages that defined the the era's high end of Napa Valley quality - but before the Heublein era began in 1969. Bid on this bottle of 1967 Giacomo Conterno Barolo (95JG, 94RP). John Gilman: "The 1967 Barolo Normale from Giovanni Conterno is a masterpiece. I once owned quite a bit of this wine and drank every bottle with great pleasure, but I have finished my cache up now and only cross paths with the wine when fortune smiles my way. After a bottle reported on back in December of last year that was good, but not one hundred percent pristine, I was very, very happy to drink from another perfect example of this magical wine. This most recent bottle was another absolutely stellar showing for the wine, soaring from the glass in a beautiful mélange of black cherries, game, white truffles, orange rind, glorious autumnal soil tones, woodsmoke, leather, a bit of road tar and a pungent topnote of roses and violets. (Drink between 2014-2035) " (08/2014)
