Bid on this 2-bottle lot of 2001 d'Yquem, Sauternes (100JS, 100RP, 100WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "There are 10, 000 cases of this perfect sweet white Bordeaux. The 2001 Yquem reveals a hint of green in its light gold color. While somewhat reticent aromatically, with airing, it offers up honeyed tropical fruit, orange marmalade, pineapple, sweet creme brulee, and buttered nut-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied with gorgeously refreshing acidity as well as massive concentration and unctuosity. Everything is uplifted and given laser-like focus by refreshing acidity. This large-scaled, youthful Yquem appears set to take its place among the most legendary vintages of the past, and will age effortlessly for 75+ years. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2100+. (RP)" (04/2005)
Starting Bid: $820.00

Bid on this 4-bottle tasting lot; including 2-bottles of 2001 Rabaud Promis, Sauternes and 2-bottles of 2001 Rabaud-Promis, Sauternes (375ml). Of the 2001 Rabaud Promis, Sauternes, Wine Spectator writes: "Brilliant yellow-gold color. Very strong aromas of tropical fruit and honey. Full-bodied, with apricot and botrytis spice character that takes off like afterburners. Fantastic. (JS)" (09/2004)
Starting Bid: $120.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1986 Rieussec, Sauternes (93RP). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted at Lafite-Rothschild, the 1986 Rieussec put in a supremely confident performance and in fact, looked more youthful than the 1996. It has a focused and energetic bouquet with scents of dried honey, lychee and slightly resinous, almost Azsu-like aromas. After three decades you have to admire the undimmed energy conveyed by this Rieussec. The palate is fresh and lively, with crisp acidity, very energetic with hints of toffee apple and quince infusing the honeyed fruit. I prefer this to the 1996: there is more animation and tension from start to finish, impressive length and a spicy aftertaste. This is simply superb and begs the question: Is this actually improving in bottle? I attach a plus-sign to my score just in case! (NM) 93+" (01/2017)
Starting Bid: $214.00

Bid on this 4-bottle lot of 2001 Rieussec, Sauternes (100JS, 100WS, 95VN). James Suckling: "This is a crazy wine! It’s sweet, but not sugary. Mushrooms, furniture wax, spices then dried oranges, lemons, pineapples, and just a hint of vanilla. Full-bodied, with great density and power, yet balanced and refined. So amazing, but give this five to six years still. Pull the cork in 2016. 145 grams RS." (05/2012)
Starting Bid: $480.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 1988 Rieussec, Sauternes (95RP, 90ST, 90WS). Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Tasted in Sauternes with Charles Chevalier, the 1988 Rieussec is a vintage that Chevalier himself claimed to be his favorite. I can understand why. It has an unerringly youthful bouquet with vibrant citrus fruit, wild honey, mandarin and mineral scents, a bouquet that seems to have electricity flowing through it. The same can be said for the palate that is full of tension and vigor, almost clinical in terms of focus with alluring viscosity and wonderful length. This bowled me over with its charm and breeding. Hunt a bottle down and share with your best friends—this is a superlative Rieussec, one of the best produced. (NM)" (01/2017)
Starting Bid: $240.00

Bid on this 3-bottle lot of 2001 Clos Haut-Peyraguey, Sauternes (97WS, 96JS, 93RP, 91ST). Wine Spectator: "***Highly Recommended*** Smells like pure caramel with just a hint of dried apricot. Full-bodied, ultrasweet and fabulously concentrated. This goes on for minutes. Coats your palate but shows fab acidity. Big, juicy young sticky. (JS)" (09/2004)
Starting Bid: $150.00
