91 points James Suckling: "Attractively fused florals and white peaches with lychees and apricots. The palate has a very fleshy feel with rich and juicy texture and smooth peaches and apples. Lightly sweet, full-ish finish. " (07/2019) 91 points Vinous: "Pale yellow-gold. Fresh, lively aromas and flavors of smoky duck sausage, cinnamon, rose petal and grapefruit. Very long, rich and dense Gewürz that closes pleasantly lifted and spicy. I like how light on its feet this is, despite its richness. Improves greatly with a little aeration, so make sure you ...

94 points James Suckling: "Wow, this has so much rose perfume and lychee going on. Striking nose that’s so, so perfumed and alluring. The palate has a super-luscious texture and bold ripe peach and mango, banana and lychee. A riot of flavor. *James Suckling Top 100 of New Zealand 2021*" (11/2021) 92 points Vinous: "The 2020 Gewürztraminer positively bursts with lychees, roses and the fruit-salad penny chews of my childhood (although inflation probably means they're no longer a penny). Round, juicy and off-dry, the wine retains a sense of shape and defi...

90 points Vinous: "Luminous straw-gold. Varietally accurate aromas and flavors of smoke, grilled pork, white pepper and tropical fruit, but this has a lemony zing that gives a graceful mouthfeel despite a hint of chewy tannins at the back. The finish is long and ripe. Trimbach does not make this every year but only when they are able to buy good-quality grapes (the wine is made with roughly 95% purchased grapes). The most recent previous Gewürz Réserve was the 2011. About 14,000 bottles made. (ID)" (04/2018)

Domaine Albert Boxler was founded in the 16th century and today is lead by Jean Boxler. Using many of the same techniques that his ancestors used, the focus continues to be on traditionally made wines from the region's noble grapes. Sourcing from a number of different terroirs, resulting in dozens of different bottlings each vintage, the Gewürztraminer comes from a 14-hectare plot of granite, limestone, and alluvial planted to ten- to sixty-year-old vines. All grapes are hand harvested and fermented with natural yeasts in stainless steel.

91 points James Suckling: "Here’s a classic, spicy Alsace gewurztraminer that’s ripe and generous (14% alcohol), but with more discreet tannins and a drier finish than most examples of this category. That makes it so much easier to drink! Drink now." (11/2020) 90 points Wine Enthusiast: "A subtle veil of Damask rose encloses peachiness on the nose of this wine. Although the palate reveals power and warmth, it cloaks it in subtle rose notes. The finish is just about dry. It's lovely and subtle. (AK)" (10/2020)

97 points James Suckling: "This is a massively concentrated and enormously structured wine with so much smoke and spice, but there’s also so much rose aroma that it comes off as charming rather than imposing. And the giant freshness at the finish pulls you back for more of this astonishing gewurz. Beautifully integrated touch of sweetness. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold." (06/2021) 94 points Decanter: "A tiny plot of 0.5 hectares produces only 1,500 bottles each year. As Olivier Humbrecht says, Rangen imposes its strength on the grape ...

95 points James Suckling: "Gewurz can be an impressive but tiring wine. With its floral delicacy and lively, graceful personality, this is the opposite of the bombastic norm. The touch of sweetness stays in the background and the floral freshness wins out at the long, precise finish. From biodynamically grown grapes." (06/2021) 93 points Decanter: "Offering aromas of peach, pear, spring flowers, rose and pear, the 2019 Gewurztraminer Clos Windsbuhl has an elegant, pure and delicate bouquet. Superb precision! The palate is perfectly velvety and envelopi...

97 points James Suckling: "There’s nothing obvious about this intensely spicy gewurz. In fact, studying the aromas is like solving an intricate puzzle. Very powerful and creamy with succulent tropical-fruit character, the bold minerality balancing the touch of sweetness. The palate is no less intriguing, thanks to the cool depths that are ever more revealed on the very refined finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold." (06/2021) 95 points Decanter: "Both fruity and spicy, this Gewurztraminer from Hengst Grand Cru offers generosity, fresh...

94 points James Suckling: "Stunning purity of lychee and rose-water aromas here with fresh bread, wet stones and breathtaking fragrant appeal. The palate has a smooth-honed and layered, textural feel with supple, fleshy lychee and melon, as well as pear and honeysuckle. From biodynamically grown grapes. " (02/2021)
