This estate has been owned by members of the same extended family since 1840 and is currently managed by Maryse Roba, her husband Didier and son Olivier. The wines have a long history of dependable quality as a standout among the Cru Bourgeois.

Château Meyney is an estate in St-Estèphe that was formed as an ecclesiastical vineyard in 1662. It's one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, although its modern history began in 1917 when it was acquired by the Cordier family. The estate was bought in 2004 by Crédit Agricole Grands Crus, whose other properties including Grand-Puy Ducasse in Pauillac and Château de Rayne Vigneau in Sauternes.

In 2018 the Château passed into the hands of the Savare family with much updating to the vineyards and winery being carried out. Prior to this the estate passed through several different owners who carried out their own changes including increasing the amount of Cabernet Franc included in the blend. The 1999 is 100% Merlot.
