Domaine Marius Delarche is a not-so-well-known name that occupies a small slice of the very famous hill of Corton. Established in the 1940s, the estate is now operated by Etienne Delarche, farming some 9 hectares in the villages of Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. The estate has been called, by a wine importer, "Certainly the Côte de Beaune’s best-kept secret—gorgeous wines made by an honest winemaker for prices that reminded of decades past."

94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A naturally exotic nose features aromas of white and yellow orchard fruit, anise, jasmine tea and plenty of floral elements. Here too the medium-bodied flavors are gorgeously textured while exhibiting huge length on the highly complex and balanced finale. This is a knockout in 2019 and enthusiastically recommended. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*" (06/2021)

2018 Domaine Thierry & Pascale Matrot Meursault 1er Cru "Les Perrières"
Top Pick!
90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This is aromatically similar to the Combettes at present though with the addition of glimpses of citrus elements. The delicious and intense middle weight flavors aren't quite as concentrated though they are more refined while displaying even more minerality on the lingering and focused finale that delivers impressive length. This is an interesting wine at present because it is lilting, indeed almost delicate yet I suspect that with time in bottle it will gradually put on weight and volume. *Outstanding*" (06/2020)...

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained, cool and elegant nose of white flower, various citrus and spiced apple is admirably pure and airy. The sleek, intense and more obviously mineral-driven flavors possess a highly attractive underlying tension on the impressively persistent, balanced and complex finale that is slightly firmer. This too is excellent and merits checking out. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*" (06/2021) K&L Notes: Jean-Pierre Cornut currently leads this family estate with a near century-long history. The domaine encompass...

92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Exotic aromas of honeysuckle, passion fruit, white peach and pineapple are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. The succulent, indeed even opulent, medium-bodied flavors also brim with dry extract before culminating in a sneaky long and mouth coating finish. This very stylish effort also needs to develop more depth, but the underlying material appears to be up to the challenge." (06/2020) K&L Notes: Paul Pernot has run the domaine since 1955 and now two of his sons are assisting him. They own 19 hectares of fanta...

91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Here the reticent nose is dominated by notes of matchstick, reduction and smoke. There is a bit more volume to the sophisticated flavors that possess excellent mid-palate sap, all wrapped in a mineral-driven and highly persistent and beautifully complex finish. *Sweet Spot Outstanding*" (06/2020) 93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes was also showing well, mingling apples, peach and fresh pastry with notes of hazelnuts and white flowers. On the palate, it's m...

94 points Wine Spectator: "Perfumed and expressive, this charming white exudes peach, lemon cake, citronella, seashore and baking spice flavors. Vibrant, smooth and balanced, with a lingering toasty, nutty aftertaste. (BS)" (05/2021) 92 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Marc (Récolte du Domaine) is showing very well, mingling aromas of crisp orchard fruit and white flowers with hints of almond paste, vanilla pod and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and charming, with li...

2018 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Combettes"
Top Pick!
93 points Vinous: "The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 1er Cru has a sophisticated bouquet with crushed limestone and flint, like a pimped up version of the Les Referts! The palate is very well balanced with impressive concentration and a killer line of acidity. A spicy, ginger and lemongrass-tinged finish lingers in the mouth. This is an engaging and multi-faceted Les Combettes. (NM)" (01/2020) K&L Notes: 94 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Slightly more lemon in the colour and a softer fatter nose after the chiselled Truffière. Then the w...

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Touches of honeysuckle, pear, acacia and discreet spice wisps serve as an elegant introduction to the rich, opulent and sappy medium weight flavors that are suave, even seductive, on the compact, balanced and impressively long and complex finale. This classy effort should be approachable young if desired. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*" (06/2021) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bursting with expressive aromas of peaches, orange blossom, yellow orchard fruit and buttery pastry, Pernot's 2019 Puligny-M...

94 points James Suckling: "Complex aromas of dried apples, apricots, basil and matchstick. Full-bodied with layers of fruit and a fascinating combination of ripe fruit, smoke and lemon grass. Long and very flavorful." (08/2020) 92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Wisps of resin, petrol and wood sit atop the mostly white flower and citrus -scented nose. There is fine volume and equally good vibrancy to the nicely mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that exhibit fine length on the balanced finish where the citrus character flashed by the nose reeme...

2018 Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Truffière"
Top Pick!
94 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "There was a normal crop here, no excess, old vines from 1955. Pale lemon with a faint green tint. This is quite reserved on the nose. The palate shows very well however with a thrilling incisive backbone as Puligny should have and exceptional length. It is just very backward at the moment. Very good finish. Tasted: November 2019."
Price: $119.99

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "There is a hint of exoticism to the citrus, pear and white peach suffused nose that is trimmed in a whiff of toasted tangerine peel. The rich and highly energetic flavors possess a good amount of dry extract as well as excellent length on the stony, clean and markedly dry finish. This beautiful effort possesses an interesting flavor profile as the mouthfeel is lilting yet authoritative. One to look for. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding* " (06/2020)
Price: $139.99

90-92 points Vinous: "The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet Clavoillons 1er Cru comes from 0.50 hectares of 60-year-old vines and sees around 35% new oak. It has a little more detail and stoniness on the nose compared directly with the Champ Gains. The palate is very well balanced, with orange pith, lime, a pinch of white pepper and flinty notes toward the sustained finish. It might need a little more depth considering the climat in question, although it does reveal a very pleasant fiery quality on the aftertaste. (NM)" (01/2020) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine A...

95 points Decanter: "It doesn't say so on the label, but Olivier Leflaive's Folatières comes entirely from the little known Peux Bois lieu-dit, close to Chevalier-Montrachet. It has something of the focus and precision of the great Grand Cru, with leesy weight, tangy citrus and baking spice flavours and stylishly integrated 25% new wood. Drinking Window 2021 - 2028. (TA)" (10/2019) 93 points Wine Spectator: "Despite the ripe aromas and flavors of apricot, melon and pineapple, this white has a backbone of bracing acidity, along with shadings of vanilla ...

91-93 points Vinous: "The 2018 Puligny-Montrachet les Pucelles 1er Cru has an appealing bouquet of pineapple, orange pith and light wet pavement/petrichor aromas. The palate has better salinity on the entry compared to the Clavoillons, imparting more tension and energy. The finish has a 'licked limestone' quality, which can only be explained if you go out and lick a piece of limestone to experience the tingling sensation. Excellent. (NM)" (01/2020) 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Round and flamboyant, the 2018 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Pucel...

2018 Château de la Maltroye Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Dent de Chien"
Top Pick!
94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Firm reduction renders the nose completely unreadable. However, it is immediately evident that the classy and super-sleek flavors are something special with the abundance of minerality that adds lift to the hugely long, palate coating and bone-dry finale. This is an absolute knockout and one of the best 1ers of the vintage, indeed it rivals the domaine's Bâtard in 2018, if not in sheer size and weight then in class and sophistication. *Don't Miss, Outstanding*" (06/2020)
Price: $249.99

94 points Decanter: "A Meursault that's almost a Puligny, both in terms of geography and style, this is a wine that benefited from its altitude in 2018. Formerly a red vineyard until it was replanted in 1983, this is subtle, leesy and engagingly refreshing for the vintage, with well-handled 20% new wood, crunchy acidity and a taut, stony, lees-influenced finish. (TA)" (10/2019) 89-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Pungent wisps of sulfur and reduction are all that are perceptible today. Otherwise there is very good intensity to the delicious, round...

96 points Decanter: "A real Clos des Mouches' is how Véronique Drouhin describes this textbook expression of one of Beaune's two best white Premiers Crus. Every bit as good as some more famous Grands Crus, it's floral and enticing, with aromas of hawthorn blossom and lilies, flavours of patisserie and orange zest, fine, scented, toasty oak and the structure and acidity to age. Just shades it over the red Clos des Mouches in 2018. (TA)" (10/2019) 94 points John Gilman: "The 2018 Clos des Mouches Blanc is an outstanding wine in the making. Due to the var...

94-96 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has an impressive bouquet of mineral-rich citrus fruit, smoke, honeysuckle and jasmine aromas, complex and alluring. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, with plenty of tangerine and grapefruit notes, but it is the mineralité and tension that really elevate this Grand Cru. For once, this might outperform the La Cabotte. (NM)" (01/2020) 96 points Wine Spectator: "Fragrant, this white delivers forthcoming aromas of seashore, hazelnut, peach and white flowers. It's creamy and vib...

93-95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Bursting from the glass with aromas of citrus oil, fresh pear, dried flowers, toasted nuts and fresh pastry, Faiveley's 2018 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, lively and incisive, with good concentration and chalky structuring extract, concluding with a long, precise and mineral finish. (WK)" (01/2020) 91-94 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A ripe if restrained nose consists of citrus peel, green apple, floral and spice scents, all of which is trimmed in just enough wood to mention. Th...
