92 points Vinous: "The 2018 Montefalco Sagrantino is youthfully poised, opening slowly in the glass to notes of lavender, plum, crushed rocks and a hint of tangerine. It’s silky-smooth and deeply textural, casting fleshy waves of ripe blackberries and exotic spices across the palate, and a classically austere coating of fine tannin saturates toward the close. This is massively structured, as a young Sagrantino should be, and persistent, tapering off with tart wild berries, licorice and a bitter twang of dark chocolate. Very nice. (EG)" (08/2021)

90 points Vinous: "Dried flowers and crushed rocks blow off to reveal a core of musky black currants as the 2018 Montefalco Rosso opens in the glass. It’s rich and potent on the palate, with saturating dark red fruits and sweet balsamic spices. Through it all, brisk acids maintain fantastic balance. The 2018 finishes structured with a mineral-tinge and hints of cocoa that slowly fade. (EG)" (11/2022)

90 points James Suckling: "A fruity nose with candied lemons, stone fruits and bay leaves. Medium body with fresh acidity. It has a joyful character on the palate with a refreshing finish." (06/2023) Wine Enthusiast: "This wine opens with ripe orchard fruits, clover honey, roasted lemons and pressed wildflowers on the nose. It's elegant on the palate with more defined Comice pear notes that give way to mixed spices and subtle mineral notes. *Best Buy* (JP)" (09/2023)

Monica Larner of Wine Advocate writes: "The Pambuffetti family of Scacciadiavoli has recently changed the space in the winery, built in 1884, to make room for the production of more Sagrantino-based sparkling wines. I don't think I have ever tried one of those, so I look forward to the next opportunity to do so."

95 points Wine Advocate: "The estate’s top wine, the 2001 Villa Fidelia Rosso, a Bordeaux blend in which, unlike the first versions, the Cabernet now tends to predominate, is simply superlative, with only the 1999 among the past vintages arriving close to its level. A deep, glowing ruby red, its superbly ripe nose of black currants and raspberries, graphite, tar, and licorice is supported by a dense, sensual, caressing palate, deep and velvety, outstanding in its definition, focus, and balance. A cunning wine, deceptively ready but with an important agin...

92 points Vinous: "Already showing quite well in its young state, the 2018 Montefalco Sagrantino keeps me coming back to the glass to take in its heady bouquet that blends dark chocolate, mint candies and cherry liqueur with a hint of cigar box. It’s silky, almost creamy upon entry, with potent notes of raspberry and exotic spice, yet all are held nicely together through a core of zesty acidity. The 2018 finishes with impressive length, leaving medicinal blackberry and balsamic tones to mingle with crunchy tannins and the slightest tinge of heat. (EG)" (...

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Earthy aromas of underbrush, game and black-skinned berries emerge from the glass. The firm palate offers cherry marinated in spirits, clove and licorice alongside close-grained tannins. (KO)" (03/2022)
