Mas Codina is a 40-hectare estate in Alt Penedès which dates back to 1681. This Gran Reserva Cava was hand-harvested from 25- to 40-year-old vines and estate-bottled. Vines are planted in calcareous and sandy clay soils which keep the wine minerally and lively. Mas Codina is a 40-hectare estate in Penedès, which dates back to 1681. This Brut Rosé consists of Pinot Noir grown in their own vineyards in the middle Penedès region. Here the Garriga brothers are quite pleased with the results they see from the Pinot Noir grown in chalky-clay soils. They have been working organically for the past several years, and their first harvest doing so with certification was 2017. We direct import this delicious Cava, and it is arguably one of our best values in rosé bubbly right now. (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish wine buyer)

91 points John Gilman: "The 2021 De Nit Extra Brut Rosé from Raventós I Blanc is composed from a blend this year of forty percent Xarel-lo, thirty-five percent Macabeu, twenty percent Parellada and five percent Malvasia de Sitges. It was aged for a year and a half sur latte and was disgorged in April of 2023. The wine is a very pale salmon color and offers up a bright and precise bouquet of wild strawberries, white peach, salty minerality, lemongrass and citrus peel. On the palate the wine is vibrant, focused and full-bodied, with a lovely core and min...

Mestratge is a project that explores the potential of the native varieties of Penedès. Sourced from small vineyards of head trained and regeratively farmed Xarel-lo and Malvasia de Stiges grown throughout the Alt Penedes. These are varietals that are best known for being blended in Cava (Xarel-lo) and the other is an all but forgotten member of the Malvasia family with its high acid and late ripening has brought it newfound attention. The unique calcareous soils, the cooling coastal influence, mixed with the warm Mediterranean sun make this a special a...

93 points Wine Advocate: "93+ points "The 2018 Terrers is a different blend than in the past, and this year its composed of 65% Xarel.lo, higher and higher because of climate change, 18% Macabeo and 17% Parellada from a rainy year, more relaxed than the previous 2017 and 2016. Grower-producer Spanish sparkling wine is slowly getting the attention it deserves, considering the high quality levels and ridiculously inexpensive price tags to be found. One of the ways certain producers are calling attention to their quality is with the creation of Corpinnat. For a sparkling wine to be called Corpinna,t it must be made from 100% organically grown grapes from the Penedès region near Barcelona. Can Descregut is a family-run estate whose owners, more than a decade ago, made the switch from bulk wine production to focus on organic growin...

Fixed firmly in the middle of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the winery of Joan Colet Rius appears as no more than a wooden double door on a city street, but the winery inside, and it’s cave, or ‘cava’ below, extend beneath the city...
