92 points James Suckling: "This offers plenty of fruit and a deeply fleshy texture on the palate. The nose is all melon, peaches and limes and the palate has such juicy and fleshy texture, combined with a flash of bright, refreshing acidity, holding melon, pears and white peaches fresh and long. A concentrated and delicious AC from Fèvre in 2018." (07/2019) 92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A touch of reduction blends in with a hint of lanolin on this wine’s subtle nose. The palate adds zestiness to a rounded, smooth and harmonious mix of pear fruit, citrus ...

91 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "Somewhat surprisingly this is riper than the Vaulorent but maintains good aromatic freshness if a bit less Chablis character on the oak framed white orchard fruit and citrus scents. There is excellent richness to the generously proportioned and caressing medium weight flavors that possess a sleeker mouth feel on the quinine and bitter lemon-inflected finish where the only reproach is a hint of warmth. Classy juice and a very good 2016. *Outstanding*" (10/2018) 91 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre ...

96 points Decanter: "Did organic viticulture enable the Brocards to deal with the heat of the 2018 vintage? There's certainly no sign of stress or over-ripeness in this beautifully weighted foudre- and stainless steel-fermented Right Bank premier cru, the best of the vintage. Sappy, elegant and refined with a hint of wood spice and a fresh, racy, classically Chablisien finish. (TA)" (07/2019) 92 points James Suckling: "An impressive nose with very attractive, ripe lemon and peach aromas, as well as a stony edge. The palate has a taut, crisp and fresh f...

2017 La Chablisienne Chablis 1er Cru "Mont de Milieu"
Top Pick!
90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This also displays moderate wood influence that serves as the backdrop for the ripe and mildly exotic aromas of citrus, apricot, white peach and petrol. There is noticeably more power and punch if less refinement to the broad-shouldered flavors that are overtly muscular in character, all wrapped in a sappy, sneaky long and built-to-age finale. Note that at least some patience will be required." (10/2018) 93 points Vinous: "The 2017 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru offers lovely precision and energy in the rather t...

2019 Domaine Pinson Chablis 1er Cru "Mont de Milieu"
New!
91-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A restrained nose flashes only a touch of exotic character on the spicy aromas of mostly yellow orchard fruit, iodine and rose petal. There is excellent underlying tension to the larger-scaled flavors that brim with both minerality and dry extract that complements well the bright and firm acidity shaping the lingering finale. This is potentially excellent and one to check out. *Sweet Spot, Outstanding*" (11/2020) K&L Notes: 92-95 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Also just assembled. What a volume of fruit ...

92 points James Suckling: "Some riper and deeper aromas in the peach zone, but it is assertively ripe. The palate has a long, fleshy core of dense fruit with grilled hazelnuts. A plush, smooth textural glide." (07/2018) 91 points Vinous: "The 2016 Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru has impressive terroir expression on the nose: light flinty scents percolating through the apple blossom and Cornice pear aromas. The palate is very well balanced with subtle hints of white peach and nectarine. This is a very pretty Vaulorent, the exoticism kept on a leash and allowi...

92 points Vinous: "The 2017 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru is a bit compact in feel, but it more than makes up for that with its persistence and energy. Dried pear, spice, mint and crushed flowers are some of the many nuances that develop in the glass. Bright saline and white pepper accents add to a real feeling of vibrancy. Even with a bit of air, the Côte de Léchet remains one of the more inward of the 1er Crus in this range. I would give it time in bottle to see if it softens. (AG)" (01/2020) 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Elegant and fin...

93-94 points James Suckling: "Fermented 30% in oak. This is more classic and minerally and offers a blend of lemons and yellow nectarines with a very flinty spark on the nose, too. The white peaches here are stunning, so deliciously ripe, sweet yet fresh in the mouth. Good weight and concentration in this vintage. Smooth resolve at the finish. Drink on release or hold." (07/2019) 92-94 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru is powerful, ample and rich, all of which give it a decidedly exotic flair. Lemon confit, marzipan, white flo...

92 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chablis Les Vaudevey 1er Cru is a gorgeous, complex wine. Dried flowers, slate and earthy tones give the 2018 tons of aromatic nuance to match its mid-weight personality. The Vaudevey is an especially somber Chablis marked by strong mineral/soil inflections. It is also tightly wound today and in need of time to be at its best. (AG)" (01/2020) 91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Aromatic hints of ripe greengage and Mirabelle are subtle on the nose of this wine. The palate adds a creamy languor to these fruity notions, endowing them w...

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A discreet but perceptible dose of wood can be found on the cool floral, pear confit, tidal pool and iodine-scented nose. The refined, intense and wonderfully sleek medium weight flavors flash a bracing salinity on the classy, balanced and wonderfully persistent finale. This chiseled effort is a relatively powerful MdT and like several wines in the range, possesses a genuinely lovely texture. Recommended. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*" (12/2020) 92 points Vinous: "The 2019 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru i...

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A subtle, flinty note of reduction gives way to creamy, chalky lemon on this wine's appetizing nose. The palate then sweeps in with unexpected juiciness and ripeness from the hot summer. A leesy, chalky texture lends coolness and anchors the freshness. The finish offers more lovely chalkiness. (AK)" (12/2020) 91 points Vinous: "The 2018 Chablis Tête d’Or has slightly musky, nutty bouquet – much more intriguing than the Chablis Village. The palate is well balanced with lemon, lime and a touch of bitterness on the entry. I app...

2019 Charlène et Laurent Pinson Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre"
New!
92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "This too is aromatically quite cool with a more elegant array of citrus, sea breeze and a pretty variety of floral elements. The sleek, intense and classy medium weight flavors possess evident minerality on the unusually powerful finish that exhibits fine length. This could use a bit more depth, but the underlying material appears up to the task of developing more in time. *Sweet Spot Outstanding*" (11/2020) K&L Notes: 91-94 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "The grapes come from two, sources in the triangle, w...

2019 Domaine Pinson Chablis 1er Cru "La Forêt"
New!
90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A deft application of wood easily allows the aromas of lemon confit, white peach and oyster shell to shine. There is again very good volume to the markedly powerful and concentrated flavors that terminate in a serious, citrusy and impressively long finish. This is not a La Forêt of particular refinement, but it does offer plenty of frank character as well as very good depth." (11/2020) K&L Notes: 92-95 points Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "The sample was tasted from barrels, not yet blended. La Forêt was the la...

2019 Domaine Pinson Chablis
New!
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "A bright and immediate note of ripe lemon on this wine's nose has both floral and creamy aspects. These reappear on the smooth, textured and yeasty palate, where a concentrated body of zesty but calm intensity steals the show. This wine is lively but understated and harmonious. (AK)" (12/2020) Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A whiff of the exotic sits atop the aromas of ripe peach, apricot and enough classic Chablis character to be interesting. There is fine energy and detail to the utterly delicious, fleshy and forward middle w...

95 points Decanter: "When Samuel Billaud split from Billaud-Simon, he managed to retain his favourite plot within Vaillons. Lovely colour here - just a touch of brilliant gold flashes in the glass. So pure! Crystalline, stone fruit character and some floral notes on the palate with great finesse and concentration. An ultra-fine expression of Sechet. Drinking Window 2021 - 2026. (AH)" (10/2020) 90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "The expressive nose makes this wine's origins crystal clear with its very fresh aromas of oyster shell, iodine and miner...

93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An equally pure and elegant nose is quite different as here there is much more smoky reduction to the citrus-inflected pear and shellfish scents. The rich yet nicely restrained medium weight flavors brim with minerality and excellent detail, all wrapped in a slightly more complex finish. This is only a touch better than the Vaulorent but overall, it's just a bit more complete. *Burghound Sweet Spot Outstanding!*" (08/2020) K&L Notes: 90-92pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "The Droin holding is in Côte de Bréchain ...

94 points Decanter: "A precise, finessed Chablis here with white floral aromatics and clear rich expression of green apple, peach and succulent citrus zest. This has wonderful chalky edges with a smooth mineral-laced finish underpinned by vibrant acidity that keeps things lively. Really delicious, inviting and moreish. Drinking Window 2020 - 2030. (GH)" (06/2020) 92-93 points James Suckling: "This is 20% oak-fermented and has a striking, rich peach and pear nose and palate with a layer of gently spiced pear-pastry at the finish. A riot of fruit here, i...

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "An airy, expressive and beautifully layered nose speaks of smoky citrus, white flowers, iodine and shellfish. The round, seductive and vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess a succulent yet sophisticated mid-palate texture while delivering fine length on the clean, moderately dry and sneaky long finish. This too will need to add depth over time, but it has the underlying material with which to do so if allowed the chance. *Burghound Outstanding!*" (10/2020) K&L Notes: 92-94pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "From...

90-93 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " Like the regular cuvée, firm reduction renders the nose difficult to evaluate at present. The texture of the slightly denser flavors is equally attractive while offering more evident power on the minerally finish that is impressively persistent, dry and youthfully austere. Once again, at least some patience is suggested. *Burghound Outstanding!*" (10/2020) K&L Notes: 91-93pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "Pale colour with both lemon and lime tints. Ripe, perfumed fruit on the nose, not exaggerated. Actually, ...

90 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: " A riper yet more elegant nose reflects notes of white flowers, pear and oyster shell. The succulent, round and caressing medium-bodied flavors possess a lovely, even seductive, texture while delivering good depth and persistence on the slightly fruity finish. I suspect that the fruitiness will progressively dissipate with a few years of cellaring." (10/2020) K&L Notes: 90-93pts Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy: "This wine was bottled earlier than the others for logistical reasons. Pale colour with a light green tint....

90-92 points Allen Meadows - Burghound: "A pretty nose of wafting citrus, sea breeze and mineral reduction serves as an elegant introduction to the intense, stony and chiseled middle weight flavors that are underpinned by a lovely sense of tension that adds a bit of extra punch to the lingering finale. As the best examples always are, this is a Montmains of finesse." (11/2020) 91 points Decanter: "A relatively forward Premier Cru, Billaud produces this Montmains with bought-in grapes. There is a deeper hue in the glass, a warm, generous texture and ple...

Bid on this bottle of 2011 Domaine Pattes Loup Chablis 1er Cru "Butteaux" (94VN, 92BH, 91RP). Vinous: "The 2011 Chablis Chablis Butteaux is where all the Pattes Loup signatures come together in the glass. A little of the richness of the Cotes de Jouan, along with the focus of the Beauregard add up to a compelling and complete wine loaded with depth, polish and pedigree. Dried pear, nutmeg and licorice linger on a finish that impresses for its pure precision. This is a classic, highly representative wine that captures the essence of the Pattes Loup house style. Beginning in 2011 Thomas Pico decided to label its Montmain as Butteaux to reflect its exact provenance. The parcel, and the wine, are the same. (AG)" (08/2013)
